We are young and we are different.
We are the best. We are Diggory School.
The Story
It has been nearly eight centuries since the downfall of Tom Riddle, better known as Lord Voldemort. The creation of a new Wizarding school took place fifty years after the Last Battle. The founders, the three surviving participants of the Tri Wizard Tournament.
It was named The Diggory School of Magic by its founders, Harry Potter, Victor Krum, and Fluer Delacour, after their fallen friend. Over time the school has grown, becoming international. It brings young witches and wizards from America, England, France, Bulgaria, Germany, Australia, Japan, and Canada.
It is located in the heart of America in a large stone castle, much like Hogwarts. It is hidden in the mountains of Colorado, the location is ideal being placed right at the point where a river meets a large lake. It is hidden completely from muggles by both magic, and the ideal location.
The classes are the same as those that Hogwarts offers to its students. Some classes aren’t allowed until your third year, just as they are at the London school.
Quidditch is played not between houses in the school, but between the North American schools themselves. The Diggory School has won the Continental Cup three years in a row, beating Salem Witch School, Canada Institute of Magic, and Dallas School for Wizards, in that order. They play not only those three but also The Alaskan School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Ontario House of Magic, Mexico’s School of Magical Arts, and The Oregon Institute. At the end of the year, if they have won the cup once again, they will enter the World Cup as the International Team.
In the school there are no houses as there are in Hogwarts but dorms for both the guys, and the girls. The dorms are located across the castle from each other, but the opposite sex is allowed in each, only through the common rooms though. In saying there are no houses that doesn’t mean the students don’t pick friends. Most are in tightly knit groups, having known each other since they started attending, and don’t mix well with other groups. There are the occasional fights, but punishment is always in order.
From around the world we come.
We dare to challenge beliefs and mix cultures.
