Hello and welcome to the Nchi'mahadhi New Blood contest! We have three lions up for grabs, two customs and one semi-custom. As you may have guessed by the title, these lions are for the Nchi'mahadhi pride (click for more information) and it's highly recommended you read up on the pride before you write your entries. This contest will introduce two new ranks into the pride, of which two of these characters will be the first to have. More information on these ranks is provided with each character.

Themz the Rulez
1 – Think before you type. Rude comments to other entrants, excessive emoing, whining, pity parties, and anything that is disrespectful to the other contest entrants will earn you a warning. Persistence will result in your disqualification from the contest.

2 – These lions are meant to help boost pride numbers and activity. As such, they are not allowed to join another pride. They can still hang around in the rogue lands, rogue breed, etc, but they have to remain part of the Nchi'mahadhi pride. They are not RP required, however we would prefer that you stuck around and chilled with us. We like company. <3 If for some reason you feel you can no longer play the character, please give them back and we will rehome them.

3 – You many enter for all three, but you can only win one. If, for you some reason, none of the entries are what we're looking for in the character, we reserve the right not to award these characters at the present date. We also reserve the right to award extra prizes to those people whose entries we enjoyed.

4 – For the custom lion and lioness: I (Chibi Sheepcat) reserve the right to ask you to redesign them if I feel it is beyond my capabilities as a colourist. I cannot do anything super fancy, so please don't ask me for crazy tribal designs or ten thousand colours. XD

5 – We would appreciate it if characters were not super evil/conniving/overly badass/that sort of thing. The Nchi'mahadhi is a very relaxed pride, and as such there is no real reason for those kinds of characters. That is not to say that conflict or ambition cannot exist, just that I shouldn't see any evil madmen running around.

6 – You may edit your entries until the end of the contest.

7 - Please do not write us a novel with your prompt responses. If you've written more than about 3 or 4k, you're writing too much.

8 - Please leave the coding as is.

THE MONKEY'S UNCLE

Kima'baba (Monkey's Uncle) – Drum making was made much easier with the assistance of thumbs, and it is the Kima'baba who first cultivated the relationship between baboons and lions. It is his job to maintain this relationship, ensuring both parties benefit. He is responsible for the baboon clan's well being, protecting them from predators and monitoring the health of forest that they live in. In return, the baboons watch over the pride's cubs and help them with some of the more finicky tasks of drum making. The Kima'baba is also knowledgeable in the realm of herbs and medicines, acting much like a healer whenever someone in the pride is sick or needs aid. He is the only one who can go looking for a pregnant lioness if she has been missing too long. Though he goes into the title with a name, many members of the pride (as well as the baboon clan) simply refer to him as "Baba" or "Uncle" symbolizing his dedication to the entire pride.

You, like the rest of your merry little band are survivors of the plague that struck the Nchi'mahadhi pride hard shortly after the disappearance of their Malenga. You were only young at the time, but your father ensured your safety and the safety of the two other lionesses you have grown up with. He was the Kima'baba, the Monkey's Uncle, before you, and you were his apprentice before the pride collapsed. You are the last remaining of your bloodline and the last of those who forged bonds with the baboons. You grew up with the Sheha lioness and the third lioness and returned to the pride with them. They are the only family you have left, blood related or otherwise.

- This lion is the eldest of the group of three. Their relationships (mates, friends, siblings, rivals, etc) will have to be worked out once all the players are assembled.
- This lion would know Binafsi and Isithunzi, who were cubs and fled the pride like he and his group did. These two lionesses are the only other "original" pride members to date
- This lion is for anyone, regardless of whether they have a pride member already

Though the pride has welcomed you with open arms, the baboons have not been so welcoming. Kitzi, the baboon who lead the troupe when your father was Kima'baba, died in the plague and another has taken her place. The new alpha, Ranba, is not so sure about you. What do you do to earn her trust and convince her to reinstate the old system?

* The baboon troupe will be entirely comprised of NPC baboons that other players may play as they see fit. Ranba, however, will belong solely to the player of the Kima'baba. She is essentially your character to make of her as you wish.

THE STORYTELLER

Sheha (Storyteller) – A slightly different path from the Kongwe or the Umsini, the Sheha are storytellers. Excellent dancers and singers, they are well versed in the history and lore of the pride and use it to tell their stories. The oral tradition of the pride is passed down from generation to generation through story telling dances, and it is the Sheha who is responsible for remembering all the stories told to him or her by the previous Sheha. They work closely with the Kongwe and the Umsini, helping with their lessons as well as providing entertainment. Like the Umlindi, they are also allowed to travel beyond pride borders to discover new material for their stories, much like bards. The Sheha typically wear very bright jewellery.

You were only young at the time, but the pride's Kima'baba ensured your safety. You grew up with the Kima'baba's son and the lioness listed below and returned to the pride with them. - This lioness would know Binafsi and Isithunzi, who were cubs and fled the pride like she and her group did. These two lionesses are the only other "original" pride members to date
- This lioness knows all the pride's traditional songs, stories, and is welcome to make up some of her own from her travels!
- This lioness is for pride newbies only
