FAQ

What's the best Kindred?
There is no Kindred that trumps all others. It depends on what you want. Sakura Pegacorn Fluff if you want high accuracy and high health with less damage, Watermeat if you want very high damage output, or Ambitious/Starlit Tyrant Fafnir if you want good health and good damage.

What's the "verify yourself" "avatar Captcha" "pick an item" screen?
User Image
This is what it looks like. This is a Captcha that Gaia gives you every couple of battles to verify that you are not a bot.
What you have to do is look at the avatar to the left, and pick an item that is on it from the selection to the right.
You will not receive the item you picked as a reward.
Failing this too many times leads to you being banned for 30 minutes.

What are amulets?
Amulets are items that can be equipped to your Kin to improve its stats. The most common stat on Amulets are Exp against Element. This means your Kin will earn extra Exp against Kins with certain Elements. Kindred Elements Guide goes over how to figure out what Element a Kin is.
A lot of the stats on Amulets are considered useless. These include Exp against Element, Experience, Magic, Stamina, and Stamina Regen. Note that Magic does not increase the damage of your skills or magic attack. It increases how many Magic Points your Kin has at the start of battle.
Below are the "useful" stats on Amulets, what shape Amulet they are found on, and the percentages they can be.

Diamond Amulet
Common: Gold Find 1%-4%
Rare: Gold Find 4%-7%

Square Amulet
Common: Accuracy/Damage 1%-4%
Rare: Accuracy/Damage 4%-7%

Circle Amulet
Common: Life/Resist 1%/4%
Rare: Life/Resist 4%-7%

Gold Find increases how much gold you'll recieve as a reward. If you'd normally earn 1 billion gold from a Sycamorte, and you equipped a 7% gold find amulet on your Kin, then you'd instead win 1,070,000,000 gold.
The higher Resist your kin has, the less your Kin will be afflicted with status ailments.

Note that how amulets affect your Kins stats follow this formula: Base Stat + (Base Stat*Percentage). For example, if your Kin has 90% resist and you equip a 10% resist amulet to it, it would have 90 + (90*0.1) = 99 resist after.

What do these mean?
User ImageUser ImageUser ImageUser ImageUser Image
These are status effect symbols. The first one is wither, the second is confusion, the third is paralyze, the fourth is sleep, and the fifth is poison.
Wither causes your Kindred to lose additional Magic Points during battle. This can be cured using a Refresh.
Confusion causes your Kindred to randomly choose actions on your turn. Your Kindred can attack itself if confused. There is no cure for this except waiting it out, or if your Kindred defeats the opposing Kindred.
Paralyze causes your Kindred to miss two of its turns. There is no cure for this except waiting it out.
Sleep causes the same thing as Paralyze.
Poison causes your Kindred to take additional damage at the start of your turn. This can be cured by using an Antidote. Poisons carry over battles, but you can wait them out until the Poison status disappears.

Why is my Kindred soulbound?
This is usually because you have an Amulet equipped on your Kindred. Unequip the Amulet and your Kindred will no longer be soulbound. Another reason is that the Kindred is your starter. Starter Kindreds are soulbound.

What sockets are recommended for Watermeat, Ambitious Tyrant Fafnir, and Sakura?

Cresolae
If we're talking strictly regular sycamorte trees:

Sakura: DDD or DDS; maybe SSS or SSD
- DDD for flat gold % increase
- DDS for the extra damage increase. Sometimes going against higher leveled Sycamorte trees require a 4th hit; adding a 7% damage amulet helps you get more 3-shots than 4. DD for the gold, ofc.
- SSS & SSD: ensures 3-shots on regular trees. Usually 1 or 2 squares with added damage is enough for a 3-shot, so you could swap them out for a Diamond if you want.

Watermeat: SSD, SSS, SSC, SS, DDS, DDD
- SSD: for 100% accuracy + 7% gold
- SSS & SS: for 100% accuracy
- SSC: for 100% accuracy, 7% life -- Less chance of being one-shotted (though oftentimes you won't be one-shotted anyways).
- DDS: for 96% accuracy, 14% gold; always good to have a bit of added accuracy to watermeat. 90% misses more often than you think, especially if you farm over the hour.
- DDD: flat gold % increase; I usually won't recommend this because of the base 90% accuracy watermeats have.

Ambitious Tyrant Fafnir: SSS, DDD, CCC
Currently, it is said that the strongest attack does "1332HP-1701HP." Against regular trees, this would mean either 2 or 3 hits most of the time.
- SSS: has 90% base accuracy--could add accuracy for 100%. Could also just pile on a bunch of damage amulets (+21% with rare amulets) so that you could two-shot regular trees more often than 3.
- DDD: flat gold %
- CCC: 1022 health, 90% accuracy, 2-3 shot regular trees.

Starlit Tyrant Fafnir: SSS, DDD, CCC
Strongest attack does "1360HP-1575HP." You'd usually be 3-shotting with this damage range.
- SSS: also has 90% base accuracy. I'd add 21% dmg instead so that you could two-shot.
- DDD: flat gold %
- CCC: 1024 health, 90% accuracy, 2-3 shot regular trees.

What's the difference between platinum vs gold on LK?
When you receive a plat drop, it will be a minimum of 1 plat (10 million gold). Plat rewards will also be soft-capped if you earn a lot of plat throughout the day. This cap resets every day. Once you reach the soft-cap, which general consensus says is 500 plat (5 billion gold), you will only receive 1 plat as a reward instead of the "normal" drop.

Gold drops tend to be in the thousands in LK. A couple of areas have worthwhile gold drops. Gold does not have a cap.

Use gold mode when you're farming in Stage 4-5 Kindred Wilds (100m gold drops, 1b-2b gold drops from Sycamortes), or Stage 5 Milky Way (100m gold drops).

Use plat mode when you're farming anywhere else.

You can change between gold or plat mode in settings under My Gaia.
