Although there are too many kimera to easily list, it's very unusual to find an egg or puppy from the rarer species.


It takes around 3-7 days for an egg to hatch or puppy to grow into a child.
The child stage lasts about 2 weeks, and after that it takes about a month for a teenager to grow into an adult.

Oh my, you didn't get your horrific nightmare of science fixed and now you have a bunch of baby monsters underfoot.
Sure they're cute now, but just wait until they get a bit bigger and your neighbors start going missing!

Most kimera have between 2 and 5 young, but larger litters aren't unheard of.

Over the last month there've been several transmissions of this kind, and no one can trace them. Some are suggesting it may be the work of a kimera with the power to influence electricity...
Whatever the source of these messages, they aren't the problem.

Nearly the entire rat population is infected with the scale parasites, and the infected rats have been making extensive web-like tunnels. Although it's impossible to explore the maze-like tunnels, it appears as if they're making entrances everywhere that people and kimera gather.
Some have reported seeing larger scales affixed to cats and small kimera, also behaving oddly.

If that wasn't enough, the forest near Arkham appears to have undergone a mass mutation over the last week and is behaving in an unmistakeably hostile manner. The plants themselves seem to have fused into one sprawling entity...

Many kimera and humans have also reported a similar recurring nightmare about some awful thing screaming in their head, then silence, then they're looking out over a wasted landscape coated with writhing gray things that might be scales.
A source of mine says this is a likely future.

So... I hate to be an alarmist, but I do believe that we need to act now if we want this continent to remain conducive to our kind of life come spring.


What you can do:

To start off, kill every scale you see. When infected rats enter the thread post the name of your attacking kimera, the rat number(1st, 2nd, or 3rd) and roll a 4-sided die:
1: Miss
2: Direct hit
3: Rat escapes
4: You are infected~ <3

Keep track of how many scales your kimera has killed!
10 scales and your kimera gets a lineart upgrade~
Rare kimera, those with unique lines, grams, and CYOs don't get upgrades, but you can still go after the scales in order to draw out the bigger fish.

Sometimes, if too many scales are getting killed, something bigger will come along to deal with things.
If you encounter an infected pet, then roll a 4-sided die.
1: Miss
2: You win~
3: Miss
4: You are infected~

If you get infected, then that status remains until someone else rolls a 2 and kills the parasite on you.



Second, any kimera with special abilities may want to go check out Arkham forest. Normal kimera get overwhelmed by the scales, alas, or I would head there myself. There seems to be a very interesting entity at the core of the forest, but as much as I long to study it, it's probably best if someone destroys it before we're all devoured or worse by it's parasite hoard. *sigh*

Keep in mind though that those who entered that forest and returned even before it underwent this current mutation never came back quite the same...


Third, there's a group of humans and kimera that are helping to spread the scales and sow disorder. This cult is considered extremely dangerous, but so are you, probably. So go get 'em.
