Hello to all. Welcome to the second lotto I've drafted in my long, sporadic life as a Gaian. My last attempt fizzled out, but boredom has motivated me to try again after three years away from the game. I hope you enjoy this latest attempt as much as I did setting it up. There is a new feature that is a remix of an old game that I hope you all will enjoy.

Rules

First offenders get a warning. Repeat offenders get Black Listed. Black listed offenders have one week to clean up their acts or they get reported. If you behave for an additional two weeks, I will remove you from the black list.

1) Do not stretch the page. Horizontal scrolling is bad for everyone.
2) Do not harass other posters. I will mediate if I can, but if someone tells you to leave them alone, then leave them alone.
3) Do not flame. If you have a legitimate complaint, then I will try to fix it if it is within my power. If you're flaming because your angry or because you don't like another poster, you will get a warning. Leave tempers and arguments outside of this thread. Or take it to PM.
4) Do not spam. If you want to be advertised, then ask. It says so in the Affiliates post.
5) Keep it work safe. There are kids here.
6) Follow Gaia's Terms of Service and Rules and Guidelines. I really shouldn't have to say that.

15,000 Gold Lottery

# of Tickets: 100

Price Per Ticket: 210 gold

Buying Tickets: Please title all trades:

Replacing xx with the number of tickets you wish to purchase. If you want a specific ticket number, please PM your request.

Rules: Each ticket costs 210 gold. 50 gold from the price is used to fund the Lucky Pool Lotto (Detail in next post) and 10 gold goes to me. Each person is only allowed to buy a maximum of 10 tickets.

HOWEVER!

If you purchase those 10 tickets all at once in a set, I will reduce the price to 201 gold each, or 2010 gold total. That's a saving of 90 gold for you! This however only applies if you by those 10 tickets at once. I will not refund you the 90 gold if you buy 1 ticket 10 times. Or any other combination of purchases that add up to 10 tickets. Not even if you buy them on the same day five minutes apart.

To reiterate, buy 10 tickets at once for the discount.

In addition, each ticket holder is assigned a Lucky Pool Number of 1 through 25, which cycles back when the 25th number is assigned. The Lucky Pool Number is given once to each person, so if you were assigned number 8 when you buy 2 tickets and buy another 5 tickets later, you do not get another number. However, it's entirely possible that you might end up sharing your number with another person.

Winners will be decided by Gaia's Random Number Generator.

Refunds: You may ask for a refund if you are quitting Gaia or going on a long vacation and will not be able to claim a prize if you win. Dropping out of a lotto for any other reason would be rude to the other players as it stalls the lotto for everyone. If there are extenuating circumstances that require you to drop out, please PM those reasons and post here to explain why you must do so for the benefit of the other players.

Lucky Pool Lottery

When you purchase a ticket for the 15k Gold Lotto, you're assigned a Lucky Pool Lotto number. The Lucky Pool itself is funded by every 15k Lotto that is completed. The winner of the Lucky Pool will be decided at the time all slots for the 15k Lotto is filled. However, since this isn't part of an ordinary lotto, there are no guaranteed winners.

Why then, would you want to enter? Well...

It's because the prize gets bigger with each game that nobody wins. In the first game, it's 5,000 gold. Not much, but if no one wins one game, the prize becomes 10,000 in the next game. If no one wins two games, the prize becomes 15,000, already matching the normal 15k lotto! In ten games, it's 50,000! Fifty games: 250,000 gold!

It keeps growing every time there aren't any winners! And if you're particularly lucky, you could win the entire pool in addition to the 15,000 you entered above!

However, there is a drawback to the system. There's a definite possibility that you might have to share the prize with another player. Fortunately, you won't share with more then three people and the only way that would happen is if seventy-five people buy only 1 ticket each.

In the end, it's up to you to decide how you want to play. Will you gamble by buying as much as you can to help the Pool grow? Or snatch a chance at winning the Pool at the risk of sharing the prize with someone?

Alternative Summary

Well, here's a simplified example to help conceptualize the game.

Say everyone who plays buys only 1 ticket. There are 25 numbers that can be assigned to the pool, which repeat when the last number is given.

100 ticket holders divided by 25 means 4 ticket holders will share 1 number each. When the pool is decided, there is a 100% chance of someone winning, because all possible numbers have been assigned.

HOWEVER!

There are 4 people holding that 1 number, meaning the possible prize will be split evenly to those 4 people. You won, but the prize is smaller.

Now, let's raise the stakes a bit. Say everyone who buys tickets will buy 5 tickets each. That's only 20 ticket holders playing (20 x 5 = 100) and thus only 20 numbers will be assigned out of the possible 25. When the pool is decided, the chances of someone winning is only 20 out of 25, or a 4/5 chance of winning. If you are lucky enough to win, then you own a unique number not shared by anyone else, meaning you get the entire prize all to yourself.

As I said, the pool itself is a gamble. The less you buy, the greater your chances of winning, but you risk a smaller payout. The more you buy, the less your chances of winning, but you might be lucky enough to horde it all to yourself.

As a bonus for this first game, I'm throwing in 5,000 of my own gold to boost the prize.
