Free shops mean the shop provides you the resources and setting and information in order for you to edit and color your own pet. In this case, based on the FF/KH-blended universe described in the shop, using the human bases provided, you will use your skills to make your own citizen(s).

Think you don't have skills? There's plenty of great tutorials out there on DA, googling, or even youtube.

Don't have Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro? There are programs like Gimp and others that are free with less features.

Still too [something] to make your own citizen? You can find people to make them for you or get them from official shop events and sales.

question Are these really free?
exclaim Yes, but not everything. Like a popular shop known as SteamWorks, you get whatever you make free. They only cost your own time and effort.

question So what isn't free?
exclaim Some things have to be earned. You can usually find info about it if you look at the right posts.

question What style am I allowed to make my citizen in?
exclaim That's the best part! While your job classes have particular styles associated with them, they're not a straight jacket or a requirement. Some races have specific guidelines because of lifestyles. So you can make your mage look like a white mage or a black mage or any sort of traditional version of Final Fantasy styles...or you can make it a lolita, a punk, a goth, or even throw in streampunk and cyberpunk.

question I really don't think I can do anything decent...
exclaim Please give yourself the extra room and push and give it a shot. If not, you'll never know if you're any good. If for some reason you can't find it in yourself to make your pet, we still will have things for sale.

question Can I make a million of them?
exclaim As long as you put love and care and effort into each one, yes! We won't limit the amount that people make until we see it becoming an issue.

question Why can't I post these on DA?
question Why can't I trade for other shops' pets?
exclaim Because they're not fully yours. The base isn't yours. It's not your shop. And I won't debate your rights.

question Can I make cosplays?
exclaim Cosplays will have a slot-based system to allow people to claim them. If you don't have a slot, you can't make one. OCs do not count as cosplays.

Wearing similar clothing to a dressphere, job class, or style of a character's do not count, however, anything resembling the actual existing characters too much will become an issue. Try to be creative in your endeavors so that your work doesn't go to waste (aka, your citizen is deemed "nonexistent." )

question What if I hide the fact something is a cosplay?
exclaim When I find out, you will be banned. The end.

question What's the stance on cosplays for online comics, similar fan-characters, etc?
exclaim If it doesn't belong to you, you must get explicit permission.

question Can real people be made into citizens?
exclaim Short answer: No. Long answer: Occasionally, a performer will have a stage presence that is different than the "real" them. An example would be Ziggy Stardust, instead of David Bowie. In a case-by-case manor, I will hear the arguments for theses and allow certain ones. Typically, you can't get your favorite Jrocker or actor, though. Their characters, however, are allowed.

question Can I make one for a friend/Can a friend make one for me?
exclaim Yes! The only payment allowed however are art trades and/or a trade for another free pet from either here or some place else that does free pets (not your own shop as a freebie). Otherwise, they have to be completely free. You risk being banned from the shop if actual payment that is exchangeable for gold occurs.

question If I make one for a friend/if I make one for a non-shop-created contest/event, can I make them RP required?
exclaim The short answer is no. It'd be too hard to enforce. If you absolutely want to for your contest/event, just ask me in the Contact thread and I'll make a decision based on the circumstance. But! They must have advanced warning, or you can't require it.

question Can I make one from scratch/extremely edit the lineart into new poses, etc?
exclaim Please check the resources for more information about this. Bases thread.

question I don't like/never played a Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy game.
exclaim Hopefully this won't be too much of an issue because the shop has its own history based on the games, but not all-out lifted from. Though I do suggest at least familiarizing yourself a little.

question Your shop doesn't reflect the canon of FF/KH!
exclaim You're right, because it's not suppose to. In order to make it manageable, enjoyable, and applicable, things were changed, edited, merged, invented, etc for the sake of the shop and the B/C and Gaia setting.

question Relationships...?
exclaim You're very lucky, because I happen to be very open. Anything that's legal in the Us, and a couple things that aren't are allowed in the shop. However, since Gaia is PG-13, please remember to keep the bad stuff to yourself.

Attention! This shop has a separate canon than any of them games, even if it's based on it. That means, even if something is "officially" a certain way, it very well may be different here!

I WILL tell you to redo/change you citizens if you have failed to read the descriptions and discover the details such has the color of hair/skin/eyes/etc, even if I don't notice/discover these until months later.

All humanoid races are compatible, however, racial characteristics dictate features that are passed on.

Why would I want to breed my citizen?

Why indeed. Because it's the only way you can have a citizen that's 50% one race and 50% another unless for some reason the shop has a specific cross-breed in a shop event or something.

Basically, the rules are that all first generation citizens must be 100% one race. Sorry, just how it is. If you want one that's a mix, you'll have to do the deed. That is, you need to make its parents and then draw it as a baby and then grow it up later.
