          The world had been normal, much the same as it is today. People lived happily and although there was always strife, -- you can't have peace without war -- life seemed just dandy. Under the care of m u s i c, l i t e r a t u r e, and a r t, everything was blossoming. Those three Entities became known as the Origins.
          And then the Shades arrived. In torrents, great masses of them swarmed over towns, swallowing those once bright, vibrant cities and turning them into dusty tributes to the greatness of man. The Origins were forbidden: every tongue, every script, every memory was gouged out by the thick claws of the Shades and those who put up a resistance were killed. Some sunk into the darkness, hiding, biding their time.
          In a hundred years, those unfortunate people who lived through the Cleaning had forgotten or died and the Shades' hold upon the world was weakening through time and carelessness.
          Those that had hidden within the safety of the shadows were putting plans into actions. Great webs of information began to weave their way through the world; from coast to coast, those who had been devoted to the memory of the Origins were revealing themselves to the Worthy -- those who were admirable and honest, brave and clever, dedicated and passionate. They would be suitable Precursors.
          With the great will that had helped to keep them alive, those from the time of the Origins, the Fundamentalists, struggled to build the foundations of underground societies and organizations that would school the possible Precursors.

          The race begins.


          Precursors and Fundamentalists began to build, struggling to relearn the arts of the Origins.

          And the Shades began hearing strange rumors of underground academies dedicated to reviving the Origin's power.

          And then, there were those rumors of three siblings with powers that were reminiscent of the Origins'.

          I declare that this shall all take place mainly in some place reminiscent of Japan. So bite me. I love Japan.
          Anyways, the Surface is intact, much like the modern world now. Except for the fact that there are robots who serve the Shades who roam the town, enforcing the ruling of the Shades.
          While word of the Academy was spread in secretive meetings, the Academies themselves were built underground.
          The tale of the Precursor's unfolds within an underground Academy.
          The Shades' tale takes place in their Headquarters in the center of town -- a large, black building with tall spires.
          And the tale of the Origin's Reborn begins where ever you'd like it to.

        Oh, woe. The bane of all roleplayers, or in my case, the savior. I love literacy. And for those who aren't sure what I think it means:
        The ability to write full sentences with grammar and spelling. In posting terms, this means posts with 5+ sentences.

        I understand if folks are having writer's block, but that doesn't last forever. And sometimes, I know what it's like to be roleplaying with someone who isn't giving you enough quality posts. But do your best, dearies.

        Separate from literacy, but hand in hand is posting styles! I love my threads looking pretty. If you can tell from the first page, I'm not hardcore. However, I want the character's picture, their name, the quote that you attached to your profile, and, as optionals, extra pictures and their role. Please use pretty colors (none of that bright-as-s**t crap) and in 9 or 10 size font.
        If you don't have a decent sized charrie pic, I'm completely willing to help you with that.

        I play more than one character and therefor, I don't have any arguments against you folks playing multiple characters. In fact, there are twins that I imagine one character will want to play. I have nothing against two people playing the twins, but come one, they're twins at least make them look alike, ey?

        This is Gaia, so you are to follow Gaia ToS and keep it to a PG-16 (oh how I love made up ratings). But really, I expect people roleplaying here to have a sixteen year-old's level of intelligence and maturity (I know, ha ha ha) so please act as such.
        Realize that I don't have any of that white list // black list s**t. Please, please, please act with a level of self-control.

The third is the eldest, hardened by spending his/her whole life fighting the Shades' minions who were threatening to tear them apart. Each possesses one of the Origin's powers, but they don't quite understand or even know of their powers.

[The minions will not be controlled by a roleplayer. They're background.] The Captains do not necessarily have to be completely loyal to the Shades. Each Captain is a fighter of an Affinity of your choosing.
