F. A. Q.: knowledge for the mind

Q: How may I attain such a lotus/spirit?
A: We will award them to Gaians who show financial responsibility through our Flatsales, Cutom sales, Raffles, and Events/Contests.

Q: May we return one if the lotus does not evolve into the Zodiac we want?
A: No, each lotus Zodiac Spirit is unique in terms of eyes/expressions/hair-eye-skin-clothes color, etc. You may not return a spirit, resell it, or auction it off.

Q: How do we water/wean/feed the spirit?
A: You must first create a journal entry with your spirit and a link to the image of your spirit. Then comment on the journal whenever you water/wean/feed (only once a day).

Q: Why are the lotuses so costly?
A: Each lotus is unique, and slvadrgn spends time to draw and color each stage (and the stages in-between)

Q: Is role-playing needed?
A: Role-playing is not required, but s needed only if you want to have your pet evolve into an adult. You're welcome to introduce your pet and roleplay in our guild once we've established one.

s t o r y: how they came to be

You're walking through a dream-esque forest, and in the clearing you see two ponds. Seated on the lotus pad of each pond are two Celestial Maidens:

They offer you a lotus, to guard as your own....

"These Zodiac spirits have been sent down through us due to the imminent war between the gods. To save these growing spirits we contend to let kind and patient Gaians to guard the zodiac spirits while they grow into a Zodiac Spirit."

On earth, the spirit grows and lives in a lush land of various terrains in ancient China. Like their zodiac animal, the spirits exhibit characteristic traits of the zodiac they represent. However, that does not mean that all spirits of the zodiac have the same personality.

{They do not require heavy role-playing but to reach the adult stage and be able to wish for children, you must role-play.)

First exchange gold for a spirit of your own - you may buy a talisman to influence the Zodiac the spirit will turn into (see list down below). Remember, you will NOT know which Zodiac spirit your lotus will evolve into!

Please take that in mind that your pet is ONE OF A KIND.

Stage One: Lotus
Growth Requirements: One bottle of Sun or Moon water, watering once a day for five days (must be within the same month)
You need to create a Spirit Journal in the guild (be sure to join the guild as well rofl )

These spirits start out as lotuses, and need their guardians to water them 5 times, only once a day. But the spirits need not just any sort of water, but special Sun and Moon water, from sources in Tian - the sky and heavens. By using the Sun or Moon water, the guardian can help influence the gender of the spirit: Sun - for a male, and Moon - for a female.

As you water them, they thrum with energy, and you can feel the auras around them. Oh, how they wish to communicate with others, but their emotions are more strongly felt by their Guardian.

Now that you've watered for the fifth time, your spirit will grow into a Child Zodiac Spirit!
(this might take a week or two, maybe earlier).

Stage Two: Child
Growth Requirements: Five cups of Green Tea, fed at any time (Child must be at least 3 weeks old)

At this stage, your Child spirit will open her/his eyes in around a week, but weaning the child on green tea (remember these are spirits, not human children rofl ) will speed up the process - not to mention it will allow it to grow into a Teen after being a month old. He/she can communicate through actions (making faces and noises, grabbing other spirit's hair and can talk when at least one month old)

The spirit starts to develop certain abilities/affinities with their element. Nothing too magical, but as they become more in tune with their element (listed below) they can start controlling it!
(ie. metal elementals can slightly bend metal bars, fire elementals might be able to calm down fires....TBC in guild infos)

Now that you've weaned him/her for the fifth time, your spirit will grow into a Teen Zodiac Spirit!
(this might take a week or two, maybe earlier).

Stage Three: Teen
Growth Requirements: Ten food items, fed at any time and Finding a soul spirit (has to be another Zodiac spirit) through role-playing (must be at least 2 months old)

At this stage, your Spirit can talk, walk, fall in love, etc... This is a most CRUCIAL stage (puberty D: )! How active you are and how you role-play him/her will determine if he/she grows up into a Adult Spirit. Of course, you can leave your spirit as a teen forever...

Stage Four: Adult
Growth Requirements: TBA (must be at least 3 months old)

Now an adult, your spirit can pair with other spirits/soul mate and WISH for lotuses (technically, you don't need 2 of the opposite sex)
The lotus will be another random Zodiac spirit, the combination of elements does help influence what the child will be)

Stage Five: Constellation

Now that your Adult Zodiac Spirit has grown up, it's time for him/her to return to the Tian - the sky and heavens. Thank you for caring for it all this time. Your spirit can still visit time to time, but this is it's last stage.

Available Lotuses: spirits that need a home

Flat Sale: every month or so, you can receive a lotus for a flat fee of 40k. What spirit you get will be a RANDOM ZODIAC as there are limited types of the Zodiac Spirits who need homes (but you can narrow your chances by buying a talisman or different elements.

POST the form in this forum, and send trade to Celestial Maidens (with an S)!
Celestial Maidens will ACCEPT trade, and once it is completed, we will PM you the certificate with your name, info, and pet on it. :3

Wishing: how to wish for children spirits

Now that your spirit has reached the adult stage by finding a soul spirit (another Zodiac spirit) and eating healthily, you can wish for child(ren) of your own! (wishing does not require two of the opposite sex)

Requirements: Both parents must be in Adult stage and are soul spirits. 50k from each Guardian, or 70k from one.

Elemental types will effect the Zodiacs of children, and the number of lotuses granted will be randomly from 1 to 5.

(Water Element) Rat Zodiac Spirits - charismatic, attracted to love, hard-working - may become perfectionists, love possessions, thrifty, love to gossip, angered easily, have big ambitions, usually very successful.

They are most compatible with Dragon, Monkey, and Ox spirits.

Ox
(RARE)

(Water Element) Ox Zodiac Spirits - patient, speak little, and inspire confidence in others, eccentric and bigoted, anger easily, have fierce tempers, are quite eloquent, mentally and physically alert, generally easy-going, tcan be remarkably stubborn, and hate to fail or be opposed.

They are most compatible with Snake, Rooster, and Rat spirits.

Tiger
(COMMON)

(Wood Element)Tiger Zodiac Spirits- sensitive, given to deep thinking, capable of great sympathy, extremely short-tempered, sometimes can come into conflict with older spirits or those in authority, sometimes cannot make up their minds, are suspicious of others, but courageous and powerful.

Tigers are most compatible with Horses, Dragons, and Dogs

(RARE)

(Fire Element)Snake Zodiac Spirits - deep, say little and possess great wisdom., never have to worry about money, often quite vain, selfish, a bit stingy, but have tremendous sympathy for others and try to help those less fortunate. Tend to overdo- prefer to rely on themselves, are determined in whatever they do and hate to fail. Calm on the surface, they are intense and passionate. Usually good-looking and are fickle.

They are most compatible with the Ox and Rooster.

Horse
(COMMON)

(Fire Element)Horse Zodiac Spirits- popular, cheerful, skillful with money, and perceptive, sometimes talk too much, wise, talented, good with their hands, sometimes have a weakness for members of the opposite sex, impatient and hot-blooded about everything except their daily work. They like entertainment and large crowds, very independent and rarely listen to advice.

They are most compatible with Tigers, Dogs, and Sheep.

Ram
(NOT COMMON)

(Fire Element)Ram Zodiac Spirits -wise, gentle, and compassionate, elegant, highly accomplished in the arts, often shy, pessimistic, puzzled about life., timid by nature, passionate about what they do and what they believe in. Ram spirits never have to worry about having the best in life for their abilities make money for them, and they are able to enjoy the creature comforts that they like.

They are compatible with Rabbits, Pigs, and Horses.

Monkey
(NOT COMMON)

(Metal Element)Monkey Zodiac Spirits - erratic geniuses, clever, skillful, and flexible, are remarkably inventive and original and can solve the most difficult problems with ease, but too agreeable. They want to do things now, and if they cannot get started immediately, they become discouraged and sometimes leave their projects. Although good at making decisions, they tend to look down on others. Monkey spirits are strong willed but their anger cools quickly.

They are most compatible with the Dragon and Rat.

Rooster
(RARE)

(Metal Element)Rooster Zodiac Spirits -deep thinkers, capable, and talented, devoted beyond their capabilities and are deeply disappointed if they fail, often a bit eccentric, and have rather difficult relationship with others. They always think they are right and usually are! They frequently are loners and though they give the outward impression of being adventurous, they are timid. Can be selfish and too outspoken, but are always interesting and can be extremely brave.

They are most compatible with Ox, Snake, and Dragon.

Dog
(COMMON)

(Metal Element)Dog Zodiac Spirits - deep sense of loyalty, are honest, inspire others, know how to keep secrets, are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. Can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties, and make good leaders.

They are compatible with the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit

Pig
(RARE)

(Water Element) Pig Zodiac Spirits -chivalrous and gallant, there is no retreat, have fortitude and great honesty, are extremely loyal. Quick tempered, yet they hate arguments and quarreling. They are kind to their loved ones. No matter how bad problems seem to be, Boar spirits try to work them out, honestly if sometimes impulsively.

They are most compatible with Rabbits and Sheep.

Your lotus hosts a zodiac spirit, freshly arriving from the heavens. To re-energize the poor refugee from it's travels to our realms, you need to water it with special Sun and Moon water. Once a day, for five times!

To water, make a journal in the guild (only once) with your pet on it
(showing up as an image and a link of the image)

post this every time you water on your SPIRIT journal (in the guild)!!:
