01. Follow Gaia’s TOS.
02. DO NOT STEAL artwork from this shop! Art theft will be reported. Creatures/Items bought/won/gifted/etc. may be used only on gaia.
03. Play nice in our shop and guild. Life is way to short to waste it being negative.
04. Do not pm the staff unless you have their approval. Any pms should be sent to the mule and only when stated to. If you have a question check the FAQs, if it’s not there feel free to ask it in the thread.
05. NO harassing the staff to get free pets/items. This also goes for owners of breeding pets.
06. The creatures here are not roleplay required. That being said, there are bonuses for roleplaying.
07. Journals are required for breeding. See breeding and the journal section in guild for more info.
08. No advertising in the thread. If you want to be affiliates with us, feel free to pm the mule.
09. Do not resell your creatures.
10. You may direct link to your pet while it grows. Once it is fully grown, you must upload it to your own server. We will give plenty of time for you to save it before we delete it. We are not responsible if you do not follow this rule and loose your image.
11. Rules are always subject to change.

Q~ How can I get one?
A~ You can get a creature/familiar from flatsales, raffles, contests, or by getting a custom when the slots are open. Items may be purchased from the item store when there is availability.

Q~ But I want one for now/for free…
A~ Not if your demanding….We may give out the occasional gifts if we like you or your around a lot. Check the contests section often as there may be “free” contest there.

Q~ Can I work here?
A~ Check out the hiring post to see it we need help. If we are hiring, then feel free to apply.

Q~ Do you do pet trades?
A~ It’s up to the individual colorist but most likely the answer is yes. Feel free to pm the mule and we can discuss it. Title it “pet trade.” Be sure to include a link to your shop. This rule may change when we have more than one colorist.

Everyone knows that the world began in fire. It came into being in a burst of gas and smoke, exploding into life; just like those who would soon walk its surface. It raged so brightly, and so beautifully that all other life in the cosmos trembled. And over time, when the world had come, announcing and refining itself in blazes of flame, so did people: humans, born from the flare and smoke of molten rock. The fire birthed them to tend to its world, to care for it, to tamper with it. The fire gave them shelter, transportation, and food so that they could do so. In return, all that the people of this new world had to do was remember where they had come from, and what had created them and everything else.

At least, that's what the people of Ignis believe.

This is the legend of Ignis Spiritus, the story of the birth of the world that each and every child knows as well as they know their own names. They believe that the element of fire is the most important element that there is - thinking even that their blood is warm because there is fire in it. And why shouldn't they? Even if things didn't happen quite like their legends say, the people of Ignis owe a great deal to their beloved "Spirit of Fire". It was with fire that they achieved their modern way of life, honing metal into the appliances they use today. With fire, they created sturdier homes and weapons. Fire allowed them to improve their hunting and the food they caught. To the people, this makes their legend every inch a reality. In return for all that fire has done for them, they take care of the world that came from it.

Maybe there really is a Spirit of Fire watching over them. The people have always been dutiful; and recently, strange things have begun to happen to them. Lanterns have appeared - at a glance, no different than the usual lanterns they have always used. But when these lanterns are lit, the flames change. They move - they live - they breathe! These little "Fire Cats", as the people have started calling them, are beloved marvels. And any lantern may give birth to one. They say that the Fire Cat chooses its owner.

What's more, fires have begun to start up all on their own! These little fireballs move about of their accord, and seem to find people to bind to. As they are bound to their lucky masters, they grow. And as they grow, the people say that they look like... Well, that they look like the children of the Spirit of Fire itself.

The people are slowly getting used to these peculiar happenings. However, the arrival of these events has only strengthened the people's belief in their odd legend.
After all... They know that the world began in fire.

Stage One: Kitten
Completely dependent on their mothers, newborn fire cats remain in their lamps for safety. They are highly social creatures who rely on their parents (or in some cases, owners) to teach them the ways of the world. Fire Cats with special abilities are highly susceptible to influences that can determine the outcome of that ability. (Abilities are determined by staff only. They are considered rare and may be left as a surprise for the new owner.)

Stage Two: Adolescent
Welcome to the exploration stage. Adolescent Fire Cats spend as much time in their lamps as they do outside them. Fire Cats explore their surrounds and romp and play with their litter mates. Abilities now begin to manifest but are not mastered until maturity.

Stage Three: Wildcat
Fully grown Fire Cats range in weight from about 15 pounds to 25 pounds (6.8-11.4kg) and stand about 14 inches (35 cm) tall. Once reaching the Wild Cats stage, most Fire Cats will venture off from their birth litter in search of their own territory. Adults still retain their social instincts and can and will interact with other groups. Those rare Fire Cats have now mastered their abilities.

Originally found only in the deepest caves of the Sacrosanct Peaks, the more adventurous of the clans have slowly begun exploring the world around them. The firecat's furrier cousins find the slightly cooler lands to be more desirable.
