I love seeing peoples photos and having ruined your pictures with a big daft pidge rofl
Submissions open today and all valid entries will receive a pidge.

& Your photo must include the following pidge in print form (colour or black and white) : Halifax the Travelling Pidge
Pictures where Halifax has been digitally added will not be accepted as valid entries I'm afraid, sorry sad

'What do I get from this?'
There is a max of one lucky dip pidge from this event per person, but every valid entry will get a lucky-dip pidge.

HOWEVER, the unique lined pidge will be handed out at the end of August to those who took some particularly great photos, (the unique lineart pidge are additional prizes to the lucky dip birds)
Halifax has only been to America, England, Australia, Japan and New Zealand so far, lets see if we can add some more locations to his list this year whee heart

It was bound to happen eventually, with so many pigeons a spark of intelligence was surely going to appear at some point. However small that the spark may be...
Some pigeons suddenly started to notice something was wrong they could fathom ideas that their ungifted flock-mates couldn't even begin to grasp. They strived for something bigger and something better. Big Ma's was known to be one of the first Pidges to gather similar brighter pigeons together she collected a flock together and took roost. These pigeons started a structures society with systems and rules. They used a voting system to elect their current leaders. After a while they started to create their own form of medicine and cared for their sick, elderly and wounded. Before long the roost was a working living and breathing thing it functioned well and they even found time now for entertainment.
The Pigeons were weary of humans they knew they killed their kind with tainted food, although they couldn't help but be intrigued by their inventions and lives. They would observe from afar and investigate, they discovered that some could even read the words (although not understand their meaning) these words were considered intelligent and they would name themselves after human words they had found.
These intelligent pigeons started to distinguish themselves from the average pigeon by calling themselves 'Pidge'

Common Pidge
The Common pidge is currently available in three patterns...
Note for breeding: Slate> Coffee> Foggy

Slate
Slate is the most common colour of the most common of pidges. Gray pidges with a coloured neckband. They very hardy and strong birds and like all pidges are completely all different in nature. Their gray colouring can range from a very light dust gray to a deep granite.

Foggy
Foggy pigeons are a dust coloured and lighter coloured Pidge and are not as common as Slate Pidge. Foggy pidge are built like their Coffee cousins, smaller and lighter they usually fly that little bit faster and with a touch more accuracy.

Coffee
Coffee Pidge are quite a pretty breed and are not as common as Slate patterns, and their tones can be quite varied as can their markings. They usually are not as strong as their slate flock-mates they are usually lighter which makes them that little bit speedier.

Egg The egg stage, it doesn't do much, just exist. They all pretty much look similar. Remember to keep it nice and warm and talk to it and any day soon now.....
(Egg stage used to announce breedings are ready to cert)
Chick
The egg hatched into a hungry messy bundle of downy horror, these things need constant feeding, care, warmth and attention and if they don't get it they'll make themselves heard. Cant fly and cant leave the nest either doesn't speak really apart from screeching a few words for food and attention. If the parents manage to cope through this they will be rewarded with...
(Duration 1 week to 2 weeks)
FledglingStarting to gain a little more independence Fledglings although still cannot leave the safety of the roost can now fly, still not steady on their wings these youngsters are still getting to grips with flight. This is a time for learning about the world around them and preparing themselves for adulthood. When they finally gain their wings and fill their little head full of knowledge they are finally recognised as....
(Duration roughly a month)
AdultA pidge is now fully grown and a fully functioning arm of the flock, they will have picked up a role in the flock community and will be loyal to the their flock, they can now find a mate and raise a family if they wish. Some pidge may rise above all others and become heads of their flock or may tear off all together and create their own flock.
Little note: We have several different expressions for pidge but one things stays constant for standard pidge lines, males feet face to the left and females feet face to the right

Inking is now operated on a constant slot method in that one inking slot is open at at time, but never closes.
Though only pidge who have no current inks (no unnatural colours at all) can be inked,
This includes:
Any pidge bought in flatsales pre-inked, adding additional inks to already inked colour customs, and adding inking to adult pidge who have gained inks from thier parents
only adult pidge may be inked
Also Inking is completely free & you may ask for whatever you like (within reason though please, I'm not re-creating classical paintings all over your pidge and drawing you a self portrait of your dog on them rofl ) Just be polite and understand that inking will not always be a very fast process and may in some cases take a week or two to process. The opening of the Ink slot wont be announced and the only way you can see if it has opened is to check here.
The Inking Slot: Open
If you would like your pidge inking please PM Stixon
The slot can only be filled by a PM to Stixon, posting in thread and PMing Pur, will not book your place

Pidge make themselves useful the the Flock in different ways, upon reaching Adulthood the Pidge will be assigned a role
Flock Exclusives
Each flock has two unique roles which are exclusive to that flock, these can be found on the information pages for each flock.
Normal Roles
Inker: Creates and uses inks, and decorates the feathers of its flock mates. Their artistic talents are not always limited to other pidge though. These Inker pidge usually all have a good creative streak and are brilliant at making and repairing when ink is in short supply. Some inkers are better than others and some inkers are exclusive to different jobs, for example some pidge only use their talents on members of the patrol.
Guard: The ears and eyes of the flock, they usually post themselves around the perimeters of the flocks territory and keep watch, its a boring job but someone has to do it. Many pidge use this job as a stepping stone to something bigger and better. Many of the Guards are young pidge.
Patrol: Male only In Big Ma's Flock the patrol is headed by Claude, usually the patrol takes the form of a travelling guard they also exchange news with other 'friendly' flocks.
Scavenger: A hunter and a collector, a scavenger can see uses in things it finds may they be items or food they leave the roost early and return late with unusual objects and foodstuffs. They are useful to the survival of the flock and are in great need in winter many other jobs switch to scavenger during the winter seasons.
Nanny: with so many pidge out and about during the day, someone has to keep an eye on fledglings and chicks, this job is assigned to the nanny. This pidge is usually elderly or lame or in some cases like the guard is a starting job for a young adult pidge (teaches em' some responsibility)
Entertainer: Vital for keeping the spirits of the flock up. Their talents can include many things, singing and dancing, storytelling and poetry. They keep the flock from feeling blue when times are hard. They are essential for morale.
Witch: Female only A very vague job this as flock witches come in all shapes and sizes, but one thing stays constant, this is a job only the females can do. Witches are most useful as the flock doctor, their skills are as spiritual healers, witch doctor types. They also dabble in fortune telling and tricks for entertainment. It is unknown whether any witch possesses any real power, but they have unmatchable skills in their knowledge of objects and items and how to use them to their best.
Doctor: A healer, The Pidge who looks out for the health and well being of other pidge, calls on scavengers to look out for bandages or scraps of material and other items useful for curing ailments. They prevent pidge from going lame from silly things like string caught round their feet, or from sprains and colds.
Wanderer: Limited Doesn't happen very often, a Wanderer is a flock-less pidge without a role, some admire this easy going carefree life while others shun this carefree lifestyle choice of the vagabond. (we try to keep Wanderer pidge numbers low)
Head: Exclusive The leader of the flock, the very top of the top. Has great control over the roost and could uproot the entire flock and move it elsewhere if they see fit. Has to get along with their flock or they will soon be ousted. They have a strong tactical head and a great knowledge of every pidge in their flock, they are the mind and soul of their followers.
Tactics: Exclusive A group of pidge make up the flocks tactic team, all information from scavengers, witches, patrol and guard comes here. They use this information to make decisions such as if the situation is so dire they will suggest to the head that the flock should be moved. They try to predict the weather with help from witches, to avoid disaster and try to assign roles to make the flock run smoothly. A flock with a poor tactics team runs poorly.

Breeding is operated in two seasons each year (breeding seasons which last for a month or two) where breeding slots will become available.
A Pidge is only able to breed once in its lifetime. (so be choosy who you couple up with)
Your pidge do not have to have RP'ed together at all to be able to breed, but after breeding are then considered that they have mated
Inks and dyes on pidge are carried over, but are only added to thier offspring in thier adult stage, it is outlandish to ink a chick, its like tattooing a baby
I do allow same sex breedings, but thier offspring will be completely pot-luck and will carry none of thier markings, as though they have been adopted
Egg stages are used to announce that the pidge are ready to go to thier new homes, and are given with brief short descriptions of thier appearance. When certed the eggs hatch into chicks
(For same sex paired pidge's offspring, Thier parents markings will be taken from randomly selected existing player-pidge, as a reference for thier markings. They are not considered thier offspring in RP, just a reference)
Breeding fee is 10k (overall, not per owner)
Pidge can produce 2-4 eggs per laying (They have perfected the art of larger families XD)

The Associates are the Pidge equivalent of the PetPet/companion/familiar and are completely free, you dont even have to own a Pidge to make yourself an associate and start RPing with everyone.

Just a little time and some inspiration and your very own personalised pet is yours!
How many can I have?
As many as you want! whee
Love making Associates?
You can Open your very own mini shop and sell your creations to others in the Guild
Cant colour for Toffee?
Dont worry! The Roost is full of Helpful and friendly folk who will happily help you colour your creation, or if all else fails you could visit a minishop and custom your new Associate
New Associates?
Have an idea for a genus which really needs to be an associate?
Custom a new Breed for 100k (2 pieces of new lineart) and once unlocked can be used by everyone! Start a collection fund in the guild for the breed of your dreams and we could soon be flooded with Parakeets, Herons, Kingfishers and more!

Do I have to save Pidge to my own server?
I'm trying my best to host all pidge, but if you want to host your pidge that's fine
(all pidge are well backed up on two separate hard drives as well, you will never lose your pidge)
Are Pidge RP required?
Nope, but RPing is loved, you gain freebies like inks, special items, breeding, new roles and the ability to create your own flock.
Are there going to be pidge Cosplays?
Nope, they don't suit the shop ( I struggle to not make them seem tacky)
Its a flatsale, Which are male and which are female?!
Usually on templated pidge you can tell by the way their feet face, Males face left and females face right if you're still not sure, just ask
Where are the flatsale prices you witch!? You bloomin' deleted them again didn't you?
I have a great habit of deleting important information sweatdrop
5k For Adults
10k for Eggs

Naming hint: Pidge usually like to name themselves after human words they see. A good way of naming your new pidge would be to walk up a street and spot an interesting word (on anything! street names, advertisements, shop window displays.... you name it). Pidge would find words like 'Parking' and 'Post' and any street names to be fine and respectable names
The world the pidges live in is similar to our own. Although Pidge never come into direct contact with humans, they love to observe them from afar. They cannot understand most human behaviour and cannot understand their speech. They struggle to come to terms with people so they are incredibly curious of human things and try to find uses for abandoned human objects.
The world the pidge inhabit is a kind of alternate version to our own, very similar...but not quite. The location is nowhere specific so it doesn't matter where your pidge wants to be from. It doesn't matter if your pidge wants to name itself on a British shop name, while others name themselves after Finnish drug stores and American magazine titles.
Just have fun! heart
