Steph glanced around worriedly, people had wandered over to the chaos, trying to find out what had happened to attract the newspapers and all the flashing cameras. Warren had turned himself into a ten-year old boy and just disappeared into the crowd of people. He just had to go and run off alone, now it was her job to find him, ugh.
"Warren! Where the hell are you?!" She ran, as fast as a flash of lightning to the corner of the street, so her back was against a wall trying to see over the heads of the crowd. There, there was a flash of silver. Steph blinked and already the little grey head of Warren's new form had already been engulfed by the mingling people. She walked at her steady speed, which of course, still to fast for the eye to see so that she wouldn't attract any attention.
Steph caught up to Warren in some shadowy alleyway, she recognised the sound of her voice speaking into his phone- an odd sight from a ten year old boy, and grabbed his scarf, halting him. "Little boys shouldn't run off without their parents Warren, it's a dangerous place out her for kids" she tutted, one hand poised on her hip.
"Wait, who is that??" she shrieked in his ear, grabbing the mobile phone from him, "Joey? Oh right, it's Arielle" It just had to be the stupid drama queen, she always had to be the center of attention, thinking she was better than everyone else. "What? Yeah, yeah. Just so Joey, I mean you know, it was all Warren's fault, he crashed the car and killed the dead-zombie guy. Well the zombie guy's technically alive now... Oh yeah, we don't think it was an accident. Some guy probably did it on purpose. But we can handle it, you're not the only one with super powers, little miss drama queen." Steph said, holding out a finger to Warren to silence him, "No, but we both agree we saw someone. You know? Like those guy in the huge trench coats with the collars up and black sunglasses and those sherlock holmes hats.. like, like a creepy stalker guy. Yeah, well I didn't expect you to understand either, you're not exactly the sharpest crayon in the box honey" Steph pursed her lips.
Steph stopped then and whipped around, swearing she saw something move in the darkness, a rustle of movement, a flash of clothing. She frowned and then glanced at Warren, giving him a sidelong glance and then quickly looking back into the shadows. "Just wait a second Arielle.. Yeah whatever, just get you're asses over here." she said and slipped the phone into her back pocket.
"Say, Warren, would you like to play a game of hide and seek?"
