03/08 ~ Malaisra is still out of commission due to a long-term illness, Lycida had some really bad stuff happen in real life and more or less forgot about Gaia for a while... We're trying to figure out what to do with the shop, and we're really sorry. The raffle pets have finally grown, though, so that's something?

Owners, all chinxies (except for the butterflies) have been converted to the new lineart - you are of course welcome to keep the old images in your sig/journal etc. if you like the old lineart better!

The Stages

Fluffball:

At this age, the average chinxie sleeps a lot and is rather shy towards their caretaker - they usually stay curled up for 2 to 3 days, until they've gained enough confidence to uncurl.

Infant:

Your infant chinxie is still rather helpless and depends on you to care for it properly. This is a crucial age - if you spend a lot of time with your chinxie now and treat it well, it will most likely develop a bond with you that's going to last for a lifetime.

After about a week, the chinxie is going to reach the next stage.

Child:

Child chinxies are already pretty independant; they can do most of the things adult chinxies can do. They are curious and fearless little creatures, so you better keep an eye on them at all time!

It will take your child another two weeks to grow into an adult.

Adult:

Now your chinxie is all grown up; it doesn't need you anymore, but if you've treated it well, it will still have a bond with you and consider you its parent.

The Stages

Flowerpot:

At this age, it's hard to believe that your vexie is ever going to grow up to be anything but an ordinary flower, but be patient! They need the protection of the earth for only a short time (a week or less) before they emerge.

At this stage, they don't have limbs or any distinguishing features yet, and they are only dimly aware of their surroundings. Talking to the pot can't hurt, though!

Child:

Congratulations, you've reached more exciting times! Your vexie, although it's technically still a plant and not an animal, can now do anything that an ordinary animal would be capable of -- it can eat, drink, run around, pick things up, make noises and most likely get into way more trouble than you'd expect them to.

They still can't take care of themselves fully, but they're already pretty independant.

In less than two weeks, your child will be an adult.

Adult:

Your vexie doesn't look much like the bud it started out as anymore, does it? It is now fully grown and can live on its own, but it will likely stay close to you out of a sense of friendship and family obligation, if you've treated it well.

Ownership Rules

* Roleplaying is NOT required!
* Up to two people may co-own a chinxie.
* If you ever get tired of your chinxie, don't just throw the poor thing away! You can either:
--> donate it back to me, and I'll hold a raffle to give it away to somebody else for free
--> get a 1k refund if your chinxie was a flatsale chinxie, and I'll sell the chinxie to a new owner with the next flatsale
--> let me auction the chinxie off for you if your chinxie was an auction chinxie, and you'll get 50%
* Please don't alter the chinxies, use the lineart for something else or otherwise steal the art - it was made by Yannay, please respect her rights as the artist.
* You may own as many chinxies as you like, but you can buy only one per flatsale/auction.
* You have to direct-link to the picture I give you in the pick-up post for your chinxie to grow. After they've grown to the adult stage, please save to your own server.

Flatsale Rules

* Flatsale chinxies are:
-- 1.5k for common species,
-- 2.5k for uncommon species,
-- 3.5k for rare species,
unless otherwise stated in the flatsale thread.
* Flatsales are usually first come, first serve. I will post the words "Flatsale GO!" in big green letters to start off the sale, and the first person to post that they want a certain chinxie after that will get it.
* To claim a chinxie, make sure that you post the number of the chinxie you want.
* Do not send the trade until I've confirmed you as the winner.
* Don't buy if you don't have the gold!
* I only accept pure gold as payment for flatsales.
* You can only buy one chinxie per flatsale.
* Offers before a flatsale officially begins are null and void.

Auction Rules

* No sniping. You must make your first bid at least half an hour before the auction ends, or else, your bid will not count.
* Don't back out of your bids, and please don't bid more than you can afford!
* I accept pure gold or letters/donation items at mid-LD price.
* You can only buy one chinxie per auction.
* Bids before an auction begins are null and void.

FREE Raffle Rules

* FREE raffles will be held to give out FREE chinxies, usually chinxies that were donated back to the store by somebody.
* You can only have one ticket per FREE raffle; please don't use mule accounts to get more tickets.
* To take part in the raffle, wait until I've made a post saying "FREE Raffle GO!!!", then post that you'd like to participate. I will then give you a ticket.
* FREE raffles usually close after one week.

NORMAL Raffle Rules

* A ticket for a NORMAL raffle costs 50g.
* You can buy as many tickets as you want.
* I will post the words "Raffle GO!" in big green letters to start off the raffle.
* After the raffle has started, you can post here to say how many tickets you want. You can buy more tickets anytime, as long as the raffle is still open.
* The information when the raffle begins and ends can usually be found in the "Sales" section.

General FAQ

How do I get a chinxie of my own?

Wait for a flatsale, auction or raffle.

Can I please please have a chinxie for free?

Sometimes. If anybody tires of their chinxie and donates it back to me, I will give it away for free in a raffle. Check the News section to see if any raffles are going on at the moment. Otherwise, I might be giving away free chinxies in an event.

Do I need to save to my own server, or will you host it?

I will host the picture, and it's important that you direct-link, because else your chinxie will not grow! Once your chinxie has grown up, however, please save them to your own server!

How many chinxies can I have?

As many as you want, but only one per sale or auction.

Will you do a pet trade?

Yes, if I like the pet! Just PM me and we can talk about it.

Do I have to roleplay?

No. Roleplay is in no way enforced.

When is the next flatsale?

Look in the Sales section. When I decide there will be one, I will post it there.

Will you reserve?

Sorry, no. It wouldn't be fair to the people who have been waiting.

Breeding Rules

* Your chinxie/vexie has to be an adult!
* Gender doesn't matter - male/male and female/female couples can breed just as easily as female/male couples! Don't ask me how it works, it just does!
* A chinxie/vexie can only breed four times in their life.
* Chinxies/vexies cannot breed with their parents, siblings or offspring.

A breeding will produce two fluffballs/flowerpots. In rare cases, there might be additional offspring or twins/triplets etc!

Breeding costs 6k.

If a spot is available and you either own two adult chinxies/vexies you want to breed or know somebody whose adult chinxie you want to breed with yours (ask their permission first, please!), PM the colorist with the following information:

Name of first chinxie/vexie:
Name of second chinxie/vexie:
Name of first child if male:
Name of first child if female:
Name of second child if male:
Name of second child if female:

If the owner of one parent paid the breeding fee in full, both children will go to them (but they can chose to give one to the other owner). If the owner of the parents split the fee between them, each will get one child.

What you can do with your children:

- you can keep them
- you can give them away to a friend
- you can tell the colorist to auction them off for you

If you keep them or give them away, please let the colorist know, so that they know which name to write on the cert.

If you tell the colorist to auction them off, they will start a seperate auction for each child. The minimum bid will be 3k, and that's what you will get at least, so your breeding fee for the child will be covered in any case. If the child sells for more than 6k, you will get 50% of the winnings.

I've decided to take down the list of pets I would trade for. I constantly see pets that I like, and everyday, new shops with great pets open. So if you'd like to do a pet trade, just PM me, and if I have time and like your pet, we can work something out! I prefer pets that don't require roleplay, as I don't always have time to, and I'm not such a big fan of humanoid/anthro pets.

The Chinxies are (c) Yannay, who drew the original lineart and started the original shop.

Certs, banners & lineart edits for the Chinxies are (c) Malaisra

The lineart for the Usagis is (c) Lycida.

The lineart for the Sciuris and Lionis is (c) Lycida and Malaisra.

The shop is currently owned by Malaisra, but run by Lycida with Malaisra's permission and supervision.
