Well, having been up all night, part of it caring for Kasha (who hasn't got her schedule all regularized for day/night yet), I'm ready to catch a few hours sleep before family dinner tonight. I was just by Proto's diary, and his fairy's appeared, and has glowing eyes! How'd that happen, hm?

Kancho's holding Kasha now. He'll care for her while I'm asleep. I'm so encouraged that I'm bidding on a sibling or two for Kasha: http://rina.go-gaia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1338948 Corvus doesn't mind Kasha too much, so hasn't complained. Kancho gave me a Look (that same Look he gives me when I step out of the shower in a towel with my hair all funny) and said, "We'll see." I don't think he'll mind another baby or two. I wonder when Kasha will grow into her next stage? Then she can help with the tending.

I also entered two more coloring contests. I'm such a coloring whore! http://josie.go-gaia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1209789 and http://gino.go-gaia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1278822 . I may yet enter one or two more. Coloring is easy for me, and I can honestly pop out a nice job in 15 minutes. (It only takes longer if I start obsessing over stuff, as I'm prone to do.)

I lost the Kymaera auction... I really wasn't paying enough attention to it. I was outbid by 100g. crying It's probably for the best... I'd have no place to keep the poor creature, it was fairly big. But so interesting! Maybe after I've done some more expanding I can try for another Kymaera.

I just got an idea for a breedable! Yay! I've been thinking about doing all this coloring, well, just doing the lineart and running the shop isn't too much work, and I can hire other colorists and just make money without coloring myself. It'll be a simple breedable, three stages, not all fancy like the feien. But it should be cool!

... Assuming I even bother to draw up the lineart.

If I get more lineart ideas, I could auction them... that might be fun... but I like the idea of a constant, steady supply of gold versus a one-time lump sum. Anyway, I'm just brainstorming out loud.

To sleep with me! I hope I have time to do OP updates later...

Been busy of late... Entered one more coloring contest, last one for a whle, I swear! http://gino.go-gaia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1337271 ... Well, last one until I spot another contest in the breedables forum with lineart I like, anyway.

I'll be sad if I lose most of the contests... I work hard on the greyscales. The coloring bit is easy, but the greyscale is what has all the detail and it's not so easy. So having completed a greyscale, I can whip out a hundred colored variations easy, but if I don't win the contest... I've created a greyscale for nothing.

But enough about that depressing fact. I was playing with Kasha earlier today, I think she tried to say "Kancho!" I distinctly her her go "achu." And not in a sneezing way! She's such a little ray of sunshine, really. Still working on those brothers for her!

Kancho's finished moving in. I gave him space in the wall between the bathroom and the living room, they way he has easy access to both the balcony and me and Kasha. Max might come by for a visit, too.

Aiyah, I moved out of the main house, but the main house seems to be moving in with me!

Oh, oh, and let me not forget the biggest news! I GOTS A SIGIL!!1!one Sigils are these incredible creatures... the two I've seen so far, at least! They must be seen to be believed.

http://rufus.go-gaia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=903527

Corvus is wary about the creatures. They seem to be naturally dark, which he likes, but he's worried about what might pop out of the scroll and harm me. Silly Corvus, I'm too powerful to be harmed by a little imp, and the darkness just perfectly suits us both! I know I'll get along with whatever my scroll reveals. After all, if I can get along with Corvy, I can get along with anyone! <g>

Oh, yes, and tonight Corvus and I are going to see Puchi in Oliver. Should be fun! I'm certainly excited about it! REMINDER TO SELF: have roommates tape Stargate.

There are SO many updates to make...

Most amazingly, Kipestshin gave me the Kymaera I'd bid on from the auction! eek I named hir Chedem. Shi is so incredibly beautiful and unique. Shi really turns heads. ^^ Corvus was speechless when I brought her home, this towering creature that looks like nothing else on the planet. Kancho was nonplussed, since he's used to dealing with aliens, and appearances don't matter to him. Chedem is amazing! She poked at Telrik and was very curious about the apartment.

Unfortunately, I don't know what I'm going to be doing with her. She's hardly my smallest pet... and then I got an idea. A long time ago, we had a sort of shrink-ray device that could miniaturize living beings. It's only a temporary thing, but for now, Chedem is about Corvus's size. A bit bigger, actually. Like a feien-sized ostrich. Corvus could ride her. She's quite tame and friendly. She'd probably let him. He weighs next to nothing!

Of course, Corvus's pride wouldn't let him do something like that, though at the moment he can't fly. He hasn't been able to use any magic since last night. He was so exhausted, he conked out and slept well into the afternoon. He's asleep again now, curled up in his drawer with Griswald at his side.

I just peeked in there. The Piffle egg is there, still nothing from it, though you'd think a dust bunny-ish creature like a piffle would probably enjoy being in a dusty little corner. I hope so, anyway.

But back to updates. Here's a big one! Kasha is now a kid! Kancho's so pleased! She's talking in full, if short, sentences and calling him "Kampa." She's so cute and sweet! She likes me, too, but you can tell it's Kancho she prefers, following him around and stuff. He had to go bring down a small bed so she can sleep in the room I made for him. It's really just an emergency cot on the floor with a comforter on it, but she likes it just fine. She had dozens of questions for Corvus. I might have to bring her by the shop.

She is so spoiled. ^^

I've also acquired a Bloomling named Snapdragon who was abandoned. She's so gorgeous! And she's blue! My favorite color. ^^ At first, I put her in the hallway, thinking she'd have lots to interact with there, but then I remembered the cats have a nasty habit of going in any potted plants on the floor, so I moved her to the serving counter in the kitchen, which is where my roomie keeps her plants, and also where the feien plant is. Snap is very intelligent and sweet. A bit nervous about her new home, but so far she seems to be liking it. She and Kasha talked for a bit.

One of my Tahra'i is up for auction. Cool. I hope it gets a good price! http://rina.go-gaia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1412717

I know I said I'd stop, but... new coloring contest I've entered: http://rufus.go-gaia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1416422

Additionally, I made it into the final round of the Ava Raji voting, but I have no chance of winning against the popular Bliz. Still... http://gino.go-gaia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1411762

And the March birthstone dragon auction has started! I'm so going to win this one! http://edmund.go-gaia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1420726

By the way, what's with the new servers? Edmund? Whozzat?

Today was a very difficult day at the shop. Not only was it crowded, things happened. A lot of things. For one, Yeande basically confessed love for Corvus.

So I hat to explain. I had to explain how we don't much like to be touched, Corvus and I, except by the certain people we love. So Corvus doesn't mind me, and I don't mind him. Just because we don't like being touched doesn't mean we don't need it, though... It's a very confusing, complicated place to be in, living in a world where most humans and feien alike hug and kiss and enjoy each other, and the two of us standing at the sidelines shuddering at the mere thought.

Corvus has to deal with a lot of stuff, I think. For starters, there's the touch thing. He needs to learn to repress that instinct to jerk back and yell. It took me many years to do that. I still shudder inwardly when my grandmother hugs me, or especially when my friend Tra is over. He greets people with hugs. It just... ugh. I'm shuddering thinking about it.

But anyway, Corvy is always being perceived as being alone by the other feien. I don't know particularly why. You'd think I was minced liver or something. I guess they fail to see why he prefers not to have the company of his own kind. I know why: his inability to reproduce makes him feel inadequate and undeserving of love. But who says he needs another feien? He's got me. For that matter, who says I need other humans?

Okay, well, so maybe I do, but I've spent weeks at a time not going outside with only my family for contact, and then only barely at that, and you know what? I liked it juuuust fine. I'm not a giant people person. I'm happy if I have a book for company. You know that Twilight Zone episode where the guy is the last person on the planet with all the books and his glasses break? That's me. Except I have nice, durable lenses that don't break. Declining eyesight might be a problem, but I could just go raid the bodies of the dead for new perscriptions. Ha, that'd be funny! Ha ha!

Okay, but back to the matter at hand: Corvus. And here's the other thing when it comes to Corvus and Yeande... so she says she loves him, but I don't think he loves her. We had a very long, very serious discussion about it, or at least it started with that.

Quote:
E: You know we can't avoid this, Corvy.
C: I don't see why not.
E: Because I won't let you, that's why. Take a leaf from Daerinnid's book... "I've found that explaining myself to others, while a rather piss-poor piece of judgment on my part which will probably result in my downfall, is rather preferable to keeping it all locked up in my head." I love that quote. ((Note: most likely misquoted, as I'm doing it from memory alone.))
C: I don't see how it's preferable.
E: Oh, stop arguing just to be stubborn, you're smarter than that. (Corvus snorts and sulks here.) I want to talk about Yeande.
C: I don't.
E: Corvus, do you love her?
C: (bitterly) No.
E: I didn't think so. You heard what I told her today in the shop. I don't think I've ever heard you mention her outside of that one time she was stuck in the rafters. She's not the person I hear you talk about all the time. (Corvus looks away.) It's San, isn't it? (No answer.) Oy vey Corvus, what are we to do? We're supposed to be smart, but in the end we're just stupid. Argh.
C: Don't be stu-- you're not stupid.
E: And you're not worthless.
C: When did I ever say--
E: But you were thinking it.
C: (crossly) So what if I was.
E: "Fear is the mindkiller. I will face my fear, I will let it pass through me!" (Corvus gives Em a doubtful look.) It's a quote from Dune. Good books. And it makes sense when you think about it, it just seems near impossible to do. You're not worthless for being unable to breed, I'm not an idiot for being unable to do all the massive things I am unable to do.
C: (long pause) I'm going to die.
E: Just because it seems hard...
C: No, Em, listen to me. I'm going to die. In less than eleven months. Juli didn't tell you that, but he told it to me. I'm an artificial construct designed to propagate my species, and my magic will burn out after a year. After which point I'll be dead.
E: (silence, tears starting)
C: (sneers) Don't you have a quote to throw at that?
E: I love you.
C: That doesn't matter!
E: (shakes head, wiping away tears) Yes it does. I love you and I'm not going to let you die. Ever! Do you hear me? I've lost too many loved ones to lose you, too. My whole family, dead a thousand times over, cursed to live and die over and over again until the end of the world, never to know each other until that time, which may not even occur! So I'll be DAMNED before I let you die! There's a way to make you immortal, I'm sure of it! Because I've always been able to do it before. I've ALWAYS been able to. Or hadn't you noticed that half my family's been dead at least once?
C: I...
E: I'm sick and tired of the universe throwing me oranges or lemons or whatever the hell. You're MINE, do you hear me? MINE. And by my right as goddess, as empress, and as queen, I refuse. I will never let this universe take you from me, or any other. I'll carry you with me and keep you no matter what. Because I am Emperial Teal Atreides-Piett, and I will have everything I desire, or die trying. So that means you're not dying and the apocalypse will come. Mark my words. So sayeth the Empress of the Undying Universe.
C: (totally lost)
E: If anyone can find the path to immortality, it's us. And a pox on you for not telling me sooner so I could get started on it!

So now I know why Corvus has been doing all that research. Silly Corvy, the answer's not going to be there. I have a good idea of where to look. And I think it has to do with something innately feien, not to be found in mythologies outside. I thikn a lot of things, so I guess it's time to put them into action. Damned if I let MY feien die before I do!

And to the original point: I know Corvus has feelings in his heart for someone. I'm afraid to see his heart break, since it might not heal. Why'd he have to pick a love unrequited? And furthermore, what is it that makes San so much more desirable than Yeande? What exactly is the quality that attracts Corvus to her? But that's for another day, I've had quite enough conversation for tonight.

Corvus:
Quote:
Things happened with Yeande today that I would rather not go over. I don't know how it happened that she came to think she loved me. I think perhaps she's gotten over her crush. Because the fact of the matter is... she's a very beautiful, smart, sweet feien, but I just can't shake my mind off San. I must be the greatest fool to walk the planet to fall for her ploy of feigning interest, her little touch, that whole moment, but I am forced to admit that a fool I must be. And even then, when she touched me, it was there. I forced her away, because it's pitifully obvious to me that she's a lost cause. And yet, that look in her face was undescribable.

That stupid look that gives me hope that she cares. It's impossible to hurt a person if they don't care, and she looked so hurt.

I went to the shop to collect Corvus very late, since he hadn't come home. By the time I got there, the shop was deserted, no one in sight. And then Corvus popped out in front of me, teleporting again.

He looked so utterly terrible. His eyes were red and puffy and his nose was red and he was covered in dust and smudges of dirt. There were a couple of scrapes on his body and a few splinters sticking out of his arms and legs. He looked at me with the most pathetic look on his face and sneezed, and then he just dropped forward and latched onto my shirt. I didn't complain, even though he was *cough* latched onto my boob, really. (Hey, they're fairly big, and quite cushiony, so that's kind of what they're there for...)

I didn't ask him what was wrong since he didn't seem to want to talk about it. Instead, I took him down to Margaret Pace Park. At night, all the lights are out and the sprinklers are on. I was careful to avoid the sprinklers because the last thing a beat-up, sneezing, sniffling dirty feien needs is to be soaking wet.

As usual, the wind was coming off the bay. Giant gales. I love the wind. If I didn't have a darkness fairy, I've have a wind one. There are these incredible giant chairs in the park, real works of art, that look out at the bay. Whenever I'm having a hard time I like to go there and sit in them. They're probably about twenty feet tall and seat two. Because they have high sides and backs, they protect you from the wind a bit. To backstep a bit, I let Corvy ride inside my shirt since it's so incredibly windy out there and I didn't want him to be cold.

So we sat there for a while and didn't say anything, Corvy tucked warmly inside my shirt, looking out at the bay. It's absolutely gorgeous at night. It's dark, but we're in the city so it's never pitch black. Even at night you can make out the whitecaps of the waves quite easily. The water looks a purplish black. Across the bay are a thousand tiny dots of light. It's so beautiful. I absolutely love living in the city.

After a while, Corvy started to cry again, because apparently he still had a few tears left to shed. And me, being the big sap I am, cried a tiny bit too. I always cry at the movies and things like that. Of course, i was just crying because Corvy looked so sad... He was crying because he was sad.

Eventually, he started to talk. He said a lot of things, how everyone hated him and Arturo was a b*****d. When I asked why, he explained that Arturo kept talking like he knew everything, and he didn't, he just didn't. Only from the way Corvy was reacting, I'd guess Arturo must have known what he was talking about. If he didn't, Corvy wouldn't be so upset about it. If you know someone's wrong, it's easy to ignore them.

After Corvus seemed to have calmed down, we headed for home. There I took the tweezers and picked out the splinters and wet a tissue and wiped him gently down. Apparently he was inside the shop wall again. It's a real mess back there. Then I used an antiseptic wipe to wash his cuts, which made him flinch quite a bit, and applied some salve. Finally, I made sure he had a good drink of water and some food. Have to worry about dehydration when someone's cried that much, and it was pretty obvious he was exhausted. Teleporting seems to do that.

I think he probably would have liked to sleep next to me, but I'm too afraid I'd roll over and kill him in the middle of the night, so I put him down in his drawer on his tissue bed. Griswald curled right up next to him and started purring. I'll have to change the bedding tomorrow thanks to all the salve he's got on him, which is fine.

I asked him if he wanted to write about it, but he said no. Maybe we'll talk more tomorrow.

I'll also have to give the general household updates tomorrow; there are a bunch!

As promised, here's the update on all the pets!

First things first, I got a second Bloomling to keep Snapdragon company! Not that she didn't have plenty of company already... She and Kasha really hit it off. Kasha absolutely loves her, and likes to stroke her petals and leaves. Kancho confided in me that he finds it very cute. After I got over the fact that he used the word "cute," I agreed.

So here's my second Bloomling, whom I've named Marius:
User Image

I really hope he gets along with Snapdragon. She's such a sweetie, though, how can he not? And she's been venturing out of her pot a bit lately. She went with Kasha out onto the balcony and they played with Chedem a bit.

In other news, I acquired a Birthstone Dragon. A March female, just like me! She's utterly gorgeous... but huge. So the first thing I did was take her up to the roof with Saisai. I named her Esmerelda, which was almost my name, beleive it or not. I think Esme will be a good help defending the apartment building. Saisai seemed a tad overwhelmed by being handed the reins of a dragon, so to speak. He seemed to think she was a GF at first, which was kind of funny. Then again, I'm afraid all the sun might be baking his brains. Why hasn't he married Fujin yet?? He seems determined to be a bachelor into old age. I'm also rather afraid Fujin's moved past him at this point. Does Saisai have commitment issues...?

But moving along! So I'd won that Puri egg. I heard it was starting to hatch, so I sent Rikard to go pick it up. Well, Rik decided that not only was the egg his, but that he ought to strip for it.

.............................

Yeah.

But apprently, giving a Puri your clothes is a good thing. He probably didn't have to give it his pants and wetsuit, though. He was just prancing around in his boxers, nightmare minis, and a devil's tail! And then, and then, get this--

He named the Puri VOLDEMORT.

*dies laughing* Apparently, he thought I'd be scared that he named his Puri after the now-deceased Dark Lord. I told Sev about it and he was similarly amused. He gave a really hefty snort of amusement, anyway.

Voldemort and Telrik seemed to hit it off immediately. They're both really snide little creatures. Telrik ony talks a little and I can't understand Voldemort at all, but you can tell it by their attitudes. Very snide. I decided that Telrik really wasn't doing much of anything around here besides inciting the cats (Alderaan & Cooper) to mischief, so I sent him along with Voldemort and Rik. Rik seemed quite happy to have a MoKat named after his dad finally in his possession. He's... weird about things concerning his dad. They'll make a fine trio, those three. Torvwyn's going to die when Voldemort and Telrik go after his curtains, I assure you.

And back to Kasha. She's an adult now! Kancho's just beaming. Not only is he proud of what a wonderful, smart kitsunoko she's turned out to be, now she can help him with the new nokos get here. XD We've finally decided how to divide them up. One boy for Max & Sally, one for Etoh & Fianna, one for Sev & Em (the other Em), two for Kancho & Kasha, and one for me. That just leaves one unaccounted for. Make that three if I adopt the two that were abandoned. So, uh... Right! One for Atri & Yasha. One for Lilem & Fett. And... need a home for one more. I can do it!

I think this is the final thing for the moment: My piffle egg turned into a pifflet! Martouf is soooo cute! He's been bumbling around the drawer, nosing Corvus's stuff, but all very innocently. He's very well-behaved. Griswald likes him.

Oh, that's right, Colin! I got a second Pixacat! But why don't I tackle Colin tomorrow...

Emperial:
Quote:
So, as I said yesterday, I needed to explain what happened when my new Pixacat got here. His name's Colin. As in Colin Creevey. From Harry Potter.

There had been an auction for a group of Harry Potter Pixacats, and my heart was stolen by that cute little fluffball Colin. He was so adorable! So I bought him and took him home. He chattered the whole way home. When I finally got to the door of my room, I told him to shush, there were some important people for him to meet, so he nestled down in the palm of my hand (he is TINY). "Corvus!" I went.

As normal, Corvus was rather grumpy, so replied with a dark, "What." He looked like he fully expected me to announce yet another new pet. (He's noticed that I've been on a roll lately.) "Guess what I got?" I said anyway.

"A new pet," he answered.

"But not just any new pet! A Pixacat!" And I held out my hand.

"Hi!" went Colin.

And Corvus jumped two and a half feet into the air.

After a very confused minute or two, I put Colin down in Corvus's drawer next to Griswald.

Colin: "Hi, I'm Colin."

Griswald: "Griswald."

Corvus: <-- too shocked to speak

And then Corvus got really, really mad. See, Griswald's never spoken to him, and he had no idea Griswald could talk. He said as much to Gris, who replied, "You never asked."

Poor Colin had no idea what he'd gotten himself into. He meant well, I know, but Corvus just started yelling at everyone within earshot and then flew out the window. I told Colin not to worry about it; that's Corvus for you.

But Colin does talk a lot. Eventually, Griswald asked him to be quiet. I fear Colin's not going to last in Corvus's drawer, so I moved him to Snapdragon's pot. He's much happier there, digging around in the dirt and talking to her and Marius.

On Snapdragon and Marius: They're both Bloomlings, sure, but they're not two personalities that naturally mesh well. They're cordial enough to one another, but no deep friendship. Marius seems to prefer Kancho and Rikard. Rikard's really acquiring quite a few pets... I think he's a bit lonely since Meepo left him for Aervwen. He really liked having that little goblin around.

Talos and Caligula are going to come for a visit soon. Talos mentioned some sort of problem.

Corvus:
Added very late at night
I was an absolute fool to think it, much less even try. So no one likes me best, eh? That's fine. We'll see who's laughing when all is done and said.

Quote:
I have no idea when Corvus came back last night, only that when I woke up he was sprawled across the pillow beside me. Thinking this was just another morning, I poked him to wake up.

He did wake up. But it wasn't a typical morning.

It took a good two pokes before I got a response out of him. He sat up groggily, rubbed his eyes (he is NOT a morning person) and then stared at me darkly. "You touched me," he said.

"So?" said I, equally as tired if not more.

"You TOUCHED ME."

"Wehh?"

He leapt to his feet (he's rather fast) and pointed at me accusingly. "Don't ever touch me again!" he ordered.

At this, I was muchly confused. Sure, neither of us likes touching very much, but we've never minded each other all that much. Still, I mumbled a sleepy, "Sorry," and went to get dressed.

While I was dressing, Corvus fluttered over to his drawer. I was kind of wondering why he hadn't slept there. Griswald and Colin were still sleeping. Corvus scowled at them both a moment and then kicked the side of the drawer. Really hard.

This resulted in two things. First, Griswald and Colin woke up. Second, Corvus uttered an oath in Rhea so strong that Kancho, who IS a morning person and had been brushing his teeth, stormed into the room and began to tell Corvus off (in Rhea).

When Kancho tells someone off... he really does a job of it. Most of what he said won't translate, but suffice to say he's well-informed when it comes to Corvus's shortcomings, particularly those shortcomings Corvus feels the most insecure about.

And in case you're wondering, the swear Corvus said applied not only to Colin and Griswald, but also to my desk and me, which is what got Kancho riled up. It takes a lot to make him flip out like this. That, and Kancho hadn't had his coffee yet, so was a mite grumpy.

I was too shocked at the two of them to object to the tongue-lashing. Kancho was being rather loud, though, so naturally Kasha wanders in from the other room, very sleepy, and Tarpeia gets up from her bed on the desk, and then, to top it all off, Saisai had been in the apartment making coffee for himself and Kancho, so HE comes in, too, and Snapdragon's on his tail...

Currently present in the room: me, Kancho, Kasha, Colin, Griswald, Saisai, Tarpeia, Snapdragon.

Which is seven presences too many for Corvus, who flips out.

"It was supposed to be just you and me! Only you me!" he starts off saying as he flies up to me.

"I'm sorry," I say back, once again rather shocked.

"I didn't ask to be living with a dozen other people! I didn't ask to share my home with anyone else! Why the hell do you have to invite all these other people here? Am I not good enough company for you??"

For the record, I have been sharing my home for as long as I can remember. My home is always open to those who need it. I pride myself on this. "I-- of couse not! But they're my family--"

"They're not MINE!" screams Corvus. "I have no family! I have no friends! I have nothing!"

"Corvus, calm down!" I protest. Kancho moves forward to try and assist, but Corvus is too quick and rushes up to the area of the ceiling, outside of our reach. Saisai makes an offer to "catch the little b*****d" which I quickly dismiss. I continue, "I can see you're upset. Let's have some breakfast, things will look different then."

"I don't want any breakfast! I want you all to die and go away! All of you!" he replies, but it's pretty obvious he's talking out of anger, since when he gets this angry he trembles and looks like he's about to cry.

Well, if I won't give Saisai the go-ahead to catch Corvus, Kancho will, and does. Saisai picks up the nearest piece of laundry (just a large t-shirt, thank the gods) and jumps into the air, netting Corvus easily. (As a note, Saisai is not only the tallest among us but also the most physically in shape.)

"It doesn't matter, he can teleport!" I say to Saisai, but that fact doesn't seem to make a difference, as Corvus is quite thoroughly caught. I order Saisai to hand Corvus over and dismiss both him and Kancho. (Which is both presumptuous and perfectly in line at the same time; depending on the situation, I am sometimes considered their superior. Normally, Kancho gives the orders, because even being retired he still outranks me militarily.)

Anyway, I now have a shirt full of struggling, cursing, violent feien. I manage to get a hand around Corvus so I can extract him.

He is behaving like a two-year-old. Not only does he pummel away at my hand (rather uselessly; my right hand is stronger than him, honest), he's crying and throwing a tantrum the size of Cleveland. "Corvus, what the hell is wrong?" I ask, to no avail.

I know if he'd been able to, he would have teleported out of there in an instant. Thankfully, since he'd used up his magic at some point, his escape was rather out of the question.

I think.

He starts going on about how I should stop touching him some more. Now I'm starting to get upset, protesting that we'd always been okay with each other, so what's different now? To which he replies I clearly like everyone else better than him.

"Corvus, I could never like anyone in the universe more than I like you, except perhaps Kancho and Talos. And that's a very tight crowd."

"See? See? Even you don't like me best!"

I sigh. "If Kancho asked me that question, or Talos, you know what I'd say? I like you both better than anyone else in the universe except perhaps for each other and Corvus. You can't ask me to compare you like that! You three are my favorite people! I like you each in a different way, no better or worse than the others."

"You don't really love me!" he accuses.

Ouch.

But even though that hurts, I swallow. "Yes, I do, Corvus, more than ever. You're only saying that because at the moment, you don't like yourself or see how anyone else could. But we do. We love you a great deal, and nothing you can do or fail to do will ever change that." I am, of course, repeating a speech Kancho once gave me -- verbatim. I can't come up with stuff this wise on my own. "If only you could see how beautiful you look from here."

Okay, so maybe doing the speech verbatim wasn't the greatest idea. Corvus is a lot of things. "Beautiful" is not usually one of the words I'd use to describe him, though.

"But you don't know!"

Time to make up my own speech. "It's like art, Corvus. The artist alays thinks it's crap and can see all the flaws. The viewer sees the great things. That's why the gods put six billion other people on the planet. To figure out the good stuff we can't see in ourselves."

"Just let me go, leave me alone, don't touch me any more," he says, clinging to his despair. That, of course, only makes me want to hug him. Someone once said that the time when you want a hug the least is the time when you need it the most.

"Do you really want me to do that?" I ask.

"Yes. I want everyone to leave me alone. Forever."

Even though this is probably one of those yes is no situations, I relent. Because I always relent to the other person's will. So I release him.

The first thing he does is fly into the closet to my dressed. There's a large scrap of black cloth in there that's leftover from a pirate costume I wore. Corvus took it and wrapped it around himself. He wrapped and wrapped, like a toga meets a sari with too much material all around. A few quick mends and the thing was permanently fixed to be a very haphazard piece of feien clothing. He looked more like a winged rag than anything.

A winged rag that quickly flew out the open window, and I just watched.

Aiyaaaah... I was out last night and missed the ending of the nokos auction... I was trying to get six, but only ended up managing to get two!

And this after I'd already worked out the homes...

Naturally, this means some people who were expecting a new family member are going to be disappointed. But obviously, I'm not going to disappoint Etoh and Fianna. Therefore, I presented them with a beautiful baby boy, whom they've named Marcel.

The other boy, Yosef, I've given to Em (the other one) and Sev. Em seemed happy about it, apparently attempting to use the chance to spring a bit of joy on Draco (whose recovery is going quite nicely).

And lastly, a female noko arrived, and will be finding a home with Lilem and Fett.

Lilem seemed rather intrigued by the whole thing, and Fett, well, it's always hard to read his face.

I was really hoping to have one for Max and Sally... but in the end, maybe this is for the best. Max looked kind of relieved at the shortage, though Sally was rather disappointed... (Note to Max: SALLY WANTS KIDS, WHAT'S TAKING YOU SO LONG? GO MAKE SOME BABIES!)

Oh well. That means it'll still be just me and Kasha and Kancho for a while more. And Corvus, if he ever comes back. I'm a little worried. I mean, where would he go?? He hasn't come back for meals or anything. I left some food out during the night, but he didn't take any.

This is very unsettling. I hope Corvus knows what he's doing and is okay, because if anything ever happened to him...

You know, I never did get around to explaining Tarpeia's arrival. I was lucky enough to win a wonderful Chalcedony Gryphon in an auction. She's s gorgeous! Black and red markings! She reminds me of Rikard a bit.

In any event, I brought her home several days ago and completely forgot to note it! *facepalms* She's small -- think of a gryphon a feien could ride. She immediately took a liking to the couch I sleep on and ym feather comforter. Unfortunately, I don't let pets sleep there usually since it's small and hard to fit both oneself and a pet. So instead I made her a nest on my desk.

She spends her time crooning at everyone (she's spoilt rotten by the lot of us) and jumping around, playing with Alderaan and Cooper (the cats). She's very adventurous. I'm afraid to leave the window open for fear she might try to jump out. But then I have to leave the window open in case Corvy comes back.

Back when Corvy first met Tarpeia, I didn't think he minded her. He seemed to find her fairly interesting. But ever since he left, I've been thinking he probably doesn't really like her all that much. Maybe she'd be better off with Rikard, Telrik, and Voldemort. I know Rikard likes her coloring; he commented as much when he saw her. And her coloring is incredibly awesome.

Talos and Caligula have been meaning to come over but keep getting delayed. Tomorrow they will be here, no matter what.

I alos recently acquired a Lunaqua and a Hatoryuu, both of which are aquatic creatures. I always resisted aquatic creatures on account of the fact I have no real place for them. The pool is chlorinated, the bay stinks, my roommate showers often so the bathroom is out of the question. Then I had the brilliant idea to ask about fountains around Etoh and Fianna's castle. Of course they have them, and of course they'll be more than happy to house some aquatic creatures. They hope the Hatoryuu and Lunaqua will help give Marcel a connection with Gaia. So Nietzsche and Teiorath will have very happy homes.

Still no sign of Corvy. Talos and Caligula came over, though. Talos mentioned some problems with Caligula, and it was pretty obvious what those are are once they got here. Caligula has gotten very angry and is butting heads with people, even Talos.

I'm at a loss. I'd heard male Lakael woud be violent, but I thought maybe Caligula would be an exception? He was really quite shy when he was smaller. I guess Lakaels are more animal than person?

Talos seems to be dealing with it pretty well. He's grown up a lot. A bit os responsibility puts the color on his cheeks, methinks.

I suggested to Talos maybe Caligula wants a mate, and that he might calm down once he found one, so Talos agreed to try and take him to the shop.

So far, Caligula has made a mess of my stuff, thrown half a hot dog at the wall, and tried to attack Chedem. Kancho brought Marius and Snapdragon into his section of the apartment so they wouldn't be bothered by our little terror.

Oh, and did I mention Caligula smelled?

Now, I know Talos hates baths (slight fear of water), but that doesn't mean he shouldn't try to bathe Caligula or try to get someone else to do it. I sent Max instructions to make sure that Caligula gets bathed a little more often, and took it upon myself to bathe him in the meantime.

Oy. What a fiasco. The bathroom is a sopping wet mess and Caligula knocked over the cat shampoo. It's all over the floor. Aiyah.

But Talos and Caligula will stay here tonight. I suppose I'll keep Caligula in the bathroom, and Talos can stay with me. I do so love having him around. ^^

OMG OMG OMG!!!!

Oh, still no sign of Corvy.

But my Sigil scroll opened! I stopped by the raffle today, and Tera and Trio were there, and they let me play with their goops, and my Sigil came out! O_O

And recently, I've been listening to Lemon Demon, so... MEET LEMON!

User Image

Is she not GORGEOUS? She loves crawling on my head, intwined in my hair. Thankfully she's quite light, so she doesn't hurt me or anything by doing it. She also loves to makes these little crooning noises. "Kroo!" she goes. She's the cutest thing ever and I love her. ^^

I'm worried how Corvy will react to her, though. Assuming he ever comes back. I'm starting to think I might want to send out search parties. I'm getting really, really worried.
