To The Newbies
Everyday, frequent charity goers become more and more agitated by the increasing amount of newbie beggars who come to the charity forum with 1 or 2 posts, create a thread, either abandon it, expect people to bump it FOR them, or just all around complain when they do not get any donations.
Here are some clues to what you n00bs may or may not be doing wrong here on the charity.
1) If you have something like 30 posts, it is possible that people will not wish to donate to you because you could EASILY be a mule account. If you want donations, go to chatterbox and spam your little hearts out until you have 150-200 posts and THEN come and beg in the charity. The only thing that is caused when you create a new begging thread with less than that is Gaia gets a bit more expensive for the Administrators because of bandwidth. Personally, I don't want Gaia to be shut down because of high bandwidth costs. I like Gaia, it keeps me amused, and I'm sure no one else here wants to see it shut down
2) READ THE FIRST POST. This can not be stressed enough. I hop through pretty much every charity on the forum, and have memorized most of their first posts. Unfortunately, there are times when I will pop into the other charities and come to find someone who violates the rules and hasn't read the first post.
3) Next, when you're asking for a donation, please for the love of the Gods use proper grammar and be POLITE! Yes, we all know you think you're cool if you can write in 1337, Or YoU TyPe In AlTeRnAtInG OR ALL CAPS. But, honestly, it's a strain on a charity owner's eyes, don't do it! As for politeness, let's just say I've seen a lot of "GIMMIE GOLD!!!1111Oneone1!!OnE1!!1!" Yea, it's that annoying. However, it's not just the beggars that need to be more polite sometimes, but I'll get to that.
4) Lately I have been seeing threads started by those 30 post newbies stating "I want headphones, gimmie them!" and I just laugh, and tell them that headphones are about 800k (as of right now). I REALLY wish people would check the price of items before they start questing for them... It may help stop some of those unrealistic goals that will, more than likely, never be reached, then the thread will be useless, sink and just suck up more bandwidth.
5) DON'T USE THE WORD "NEED." you don't NEED Pixels, so don't use the word!
