A very wet island, it rains here frequently, and the tides are very high and rather fast. Because of this, the beaches are an excellent source of clams and seaweed, but they remain a potentially deadly danger since the tides rush in and out so quickly. Also, due to the frequent rain, the river is often swollen and angry, which means that it's impossible to cross. All of the rain, though, has a major perk: it encourages all kinds of plantlife to grow.

Small animals are abundant, but larger animals are rare, if they exist at all on this island. More commonly, one may find turtles, rabbits, squirrels, birds, and crabs on the very large beach. Food should be sought after from the vegetation, which offer things like coconuts, breadfruit, papayas, pineapples, bananas, etc. However, this island is very dangerous due to one important thing: there are wild boars here. Be careful!

Other notes: This island is very similar and relatively near to Island Rose.

Profiles
Tellah Amna
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Name: Phillip Becker.
Age: 18.
Talents: Memory, Fishing.
Knowledges: Basic Survival.
Special Item: Long tan coat (lots of pockets, water-proof-ish material... he was holding it when the ship crashed and he just sorta dragged it along. Nothing in the pockets except damp pocket lint).
History: Becker, though intelligent, was more than a bit of a slacker, at least when it came to schooling. Something about not having the proper motivation. He sort of coasted along using his natural talents to barely squeak by high school, until he first year of college. In this new environment, he he managed to flunk all of his classes. He was given tickets to a cruise trip for his recent birthday, and though it wasn't usually his 'thing,' he went on it so as to be gone when he parents got the news of his grades. They were the typical parents, somewhat doting on their only son even now, but he didn't want to be around for the explosion caused by wasting a whole semester... one which they'd paid for. He just wanted to get away. "Funny enough," he thought as he lay on his back on the sandy beach, breathless and gasping from having grabbed onto a floating piece of wreckage after the cruise ship crashed, having paddled his way to an unknown shore, "I probably would have been better off being yelled at.".

WhiteCarnations
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Name: Myghin Adalon.
Age: 24.
Special Item: A small, waterproofed box that has two pieces of flint and steel in it. It saved her life in a far away jungle once, and ever since, she keeps it in her pocket with her at all times.
Talents: Tracking and Memory.
Knowledges: Militarial (Survival) and Plants.
History: On a leave that seemed to never end, Myghin has finally put all of her ghosts and terrors behind her. She is a completely confident, capable woman. Never mind the fact that she still had nightmares, or that she was still slightly insomniac. That was all beside the point. She was, at least, out of rehab now. No longer did she see enemies in the shadows or spies behind friendly faces.

And her best friends, to celebrate, sent her on a cruise. Too bad they didn't realize that they would never see her again.

Having had to swim for his life in the past half hour, Becker felt quite justified in laying on the shore, panting, for probably longer than nessicary. The water dried his clothes stiffly, and the sand scratched at the back of his neck that was unprotected by his ponytail, which was actually sort of fortunate... He might have lain there all day if he hadn't. He grumbled as he heaved himself into a sitting position, and was thankful he hadn't lost his glasses in the chaos. It's one thing to be somewhere unfamiliar... it was another to be somewhere unfamiliar and only able to see blobs and blurs.
As he went to stretch, he finally noticed the thing he had clutched in his hand, which he had carried in some sort of numb ritcus all the way there. It was his lucky jacket that went everywhere with him, hot weather or not. For a moment his heart hammered in his chest as he frantically dug with his pockets. His cellphone! Didn't he always carry his cellphone with him? But frantic searching didn't turn up anything but water, soggy lint, and a ruined piece of paper that fell uselessly apart in his hands. It was there as he was sitting, breathing hard, awash in disappointment that he remembered... He'd 'accidentally' left his cellphone in the onshore locker, along with his car keys and such... he hadn't wanted to deal with his parents, so he'd cut himself off.
It'd almost have struck him as funny in other circumstances. As it was, he stopped himself from laughing with effort, fearing hysterics.
He got to his feet, slinging the long jacket over his shoulder and looked around... Nothing but sandy beaches and greenery as far as the eye could see. He started away from the beach, figuring at least he'd find some shade before figuring out what to do, but he almost tripped on something. Resting lightly on the sand as an empty plastic Evian bottle. Becker thought it might have come from the ship he'd been on... That was the brand of complimentary water he'd seen onboard, after all, who who knew if it really was. He stooped to grab it, then jammed it in his jean pocket. He'd need water if he was going to be stuck here even for half a day, and he'd rather be able to drink from a bottle than from cupped hands... It also meant water could be saved for later.
That little detour aside, he started inland again, saying to himself he wouldn't go in very far... Just in case a ship passed by. He knew he needed water, however, and perhaps even food... But he could hold out a slight bit on that. No need to go full Robinson Crusoe already. Besides, he told himself, he'd eaten a big lunch about an hour before the ship had crashed. Probably there was nothing to worry about, and someone would come and find him well before then.
But... unlike with studying, he was always quite concerned with what would feed his stomach. He set off in search of shade... and the basics.

It had been fortunately easy to find fresh water on the island... He'd found a whole lake of the stuff. He supposed he should have boiled the water or something, but fire was something much harder to find. You didn't find the stuff laying around like water or wood or even some food, usually anyway. And if you did, you were in big trouble. He found himself shivering lightly, and after drinking his fill of water at the lake and filling the water bottle, he decided he'd try and find some way to build a fire. If he found something else, great. It would be useful for drying out and for a signal.
But easier said that done... Just gathering enough dry twigs for a fire had proved difficult enough. Most of the larger branches were firmly attached to trees, or damp from what seemed like recent rain; which gave him pause because he didn't realize it had rained anytime in the recent past. It took a whole lot of walking and a lot of poking around in the underbrush to even find a decent pile... he'd fortunately found a few bits of food on the trip along the way, though. When he'd shook a tree trying to loosen a branch, he nearly managed to get hit in the head by something that fell down out of the tree. It was pretty fortunately, if undignified, that he yelped and dove out of the way... a melon-sized object to the head wouldn't have been fun. He'd picked up the thing and carried it along with him, trying to remember where the tree was if this stuff proved edible... "There aren't any poisonous melons... right?" he muttered to no one in particular, scattering birds unused to human voices.
Looking at the pile of twigs at his feet once he had decided he had enough, hot and further dampened by sweat from all the walking, he began to question even the need for a fire... but like it or not, his clothes were clinging to him in an annoying way, and what was worse, he could remember his uncle grilling him about the importance of both establishing a base camp and a fire while camping. Looking around at the lush vegitation, he also unpleasantly recalled repeated warnings about forest fires. Damp vegitation or not... the last thing he wanted to do was set the island on fire, although that would sure be one HECK of a way of getting people's attention, he'd rather not have to run screaming for the lake. He grumbled and balanced his water bottle against a tree while he gathered up the twigs he'd piled up, heaping them in his arms before grabbing up the bottle again. He wished that the bottle had washed up with a cap. It would have made things so much easier.
He slouched his way back to the sandy shores of the lake. Sand was hard to catch on fire, as far as he knew, and if something DID get out of control, well... It was less of a run for water to try and douse it out. With paranoid images of menacing red flickers in his head, he also started to hunt down some rocks to make a circle around the pile of twigs. "That's what you do with a fire, right?" he muttered to himself, wishing he'd paid attention during the proper rules and regulations. Then it was another round of scavenger hunt looking for largish stones, which killed another hour to even come up with a pitiful pile that barely circled his twig pile. He put his coat on the ground to sit, pushing the melon-thing over so it was at hand, then went and refilled his water bottle in case things went wrong.
Only then, staring at his stick-pile, he realized that he was going to have further difficulties even STARTING the fire.
He groaned. "I guess I have to try that old rubbing two sticks together thing..." he groused.
Her eyes snapped open, and she rolled over immediately to try to shield them from the glaring sun. She looked in her shadow on the sand for only a moment, and her heart was suddenly pounding against her ribs. Where... where am I? Momentarily panicked, she dropped to the ground to cover her head, protecting herself from... what? Shivering, she glanced around herself, and then she darted toward the trees. Her back against the rough bark, she cast a look over what she could see, and then her memory kicked in.

The cruise...

She looked out to the ocean, but the boat was gone. The waves had been rough then; how long had she been knocked out? She trembled, and then she darted toward more of the trees. Cover was good; it protected her from everything else. She heard water and moved toward it, and when she found it, she knelt down and drank. The water, sweet and clear, soothed her, and she remember her counsellors from the clinic. That's right. She had left the battle lines long ago. Some of the battles that she remembered weren't even real.

Calming herself a bit, she patted down her pockets, looking for something that might be useful. Her fingers traced the outlines of her box in one of her cargo pockets and she smiled faintly. That's right. Fire wasn't a problem, was it? She shivered, for the first time noticing how wet her clothes were and how thick the sand was caked on them. Sighing, she stood, and she started toward the beach. She saw a young guy there, and her brow furrowed. "Hey; hey, kid!"

Becker had been sitting, glaring at his sad little excuse for a potential fire as if by doing so he's somehow set the wood ablaze. He fingers had been idly tap-tap-tapping the hide of his melon-thing unconciously. So, of course, his mind had been a million miles away from his surroundings, not counting the stick-pile, so when he heard a voice he was startled... to say the least.
His foot lashed out involunarily, scattering twigs and causing him to cuss as he hastily pulled himself to his feet to turn around, looking for the source of the voice. His heart lept for a moment, thinking perhaps he'd been rescued... But as he approached her, he saw her clothes were about as wrecked as his were, so he figured they're probably in the same situation.
Feeling slightly sour for getting his hopes up, he called back and answer from a short ways away, "Hey yourself!" then continued, almost under his breath, "And just who is she calling a kid anyway...?"
Her frown deepened as she noticed the rather pitiful circle of stones around a few twigs at his feet. She raised an eyebrow wondering what he had been planning to do with that. Then it dawned on her. A fire perhaps? She bit the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing. He must've been on the same liner that she'd been on, she decided, and after studying him, she decided that he did look fairly familiar.

Turning her attention back to the crude firepit he'd made, she wondered how useful this kid would even be. Probably not any at all. "What were you planning to do?" she asked lowly, quirking an eyebrow. "A fire? Why here? You should probably put it somewhere that you could at least sleep for the night."

"I just..." it sounded so very lame when he spoke it out loud, so he cast his eyes to the side so he didn't have to see this strange woman laughing at him as he blurted out the rest of his explanation, "Wanted to be close to the water in case it got out of hand," he looked warily at her after a moment, "Because the last thing I needed was to get walled in by fire."
He thought that the next time he saw his uncle (if indeed he ever saw him again, part of him muttered), he was going to kick him for instilling the forest fire paranoia in him.
There was a long pause while Myghin processed that information. He set his firepit in the sand so that he wouldn't set the island ablaze? The twitch under her eye started slowly, and then she shook her head slightly. "Kid..." Then she stopped and glanced at him. "What's your name anyway?" I can't just keep calling him kid, I suppose...

"Becker," he answered plainly, almost unconciously trying to straighten his posture in an effort to look more mature. He just didn't have the strength to argue about his status as a kid or not at the moment... It hadn't been the best of days, physically or for his pride. Oh, but he'd have plenty to say about it later...
"And you are?" he asked, trying to study her a bit. Did she look familiar? He wasn't sure... but she had to have been on the same cruise. It's not like ships all wrecked at once very often, unless they collided... He was sure he would have remembered another vessel... Or at least he knew he should have remembered. So, in essence, he decided they were both from the same boat.
And in the same boat.
He would have laughed at some other time at the lame pun, but the last thing he decided he needed was to look like a cackling moron when she was already looking at him like a bug.
"Adalon," she replied absently. "Myghin Adalon." She glanced back toward the inner island and she said softly, "Let's find shelter. We still had a few days on the cruise, so no one's looking for us yet." She picked up the rocks he'd gathered and cradled them in her arms carefully. "A cave or something would be handy," she decided outloud, and she walked off, looking idly for anything that she could call shelter for a while.

Just what he wanted to do today... More walking. But sleeping out on the sand didn't really appeal to him, so, with little incoherent mumbles of protest he bent down and gathered his sad little pile of twigs and the melon-thing in his coat, wrapping the sturdy material around the whole shebang. He hefted it with a grunt, then picked up his full water bottle carefully, so as to slosh as little as possible, though he knew there'd have to be H2O casualties anyway from the missing bottle top. He took a swig from the bottle just because it was better to take a little water her didn't entirely need than to waste it spilling over his arm.
Then he trudged after that Megan character. Myghin, his mind irritatingly corrected him, not even allowing himself to forget long enough to show her some disrespect even mentally. He stayed within shouting range of her, lagging somewhat behind with his burden as he looked around for something himself. He'd love to find a cave. Otherwise it'd be trying to gather the damp branches to make a lean-to time, and he was already tired.
As they approached the lake, her eyes scanned the area slowly, until she noticed an overgrown area near a bit of a hill that looked likely. She started toward it, set the rocks down, and then started pushing the branches back. Indeed it was a cave, and luckily for them, it faced the lake. Her eyes lit up, and she picked up the rocks again before disappearing into the cave. Carefully, she started re-arranging the rocks to form a circle. When she noticed how small of a circle it was, she sighed. "Ki...Becker! Why didn't you get more?" she called from inside of the cave.

Becker lagged behind her, not in particular to be difficult, but because he was tiring and beginning to sweat. His glasses fogged and sweat dripped down the bridge of his nose, making him desperately want to scratch or at least wipe the sweat away, but he couldn't with his arms full. Thus, with the distractions mounting, he abandoned looking for anything and just followed the Myghin-girl.
Which, much to his immense relief and partial embarassment, turned out to have been a smart thing to do, because in his state of mind he never would have found the cave entrance. Heck, he would probably be sitting in the sand still.
Not that he'd admit he was doing anything stupid or lazy when he was doing that, mind you.
He heard her question just find, but he ducked to enter the cave anyway. He wasn't going anywhere without dumping the branches off, and the mellon-thing as well, since it was like carrying a bowling ball only without the weight. He released the hold on one edge of his coat once he'd gotten a few feet past the threshhold of the cave, spilling twigs to a faint, echoing clatter, then a small 'whuff-thunk' as the mellon-thing rolled out last.
"His voice was slightly nasal as he asked, panting slightly, "Oh? And just... just what are you going to do while I'm trudging around looking for rocks?" He shook out his coat to get rid of the wood-debris and to shake some life into his aching arms. He tugged off his glasses to clean off the sweat as best he could with the edge of his not-so-clean shirt and and gave her a sullen look. Or at least what he assumed was her in the darkness and the blur.
Sure, she found the cave, but I found the rest of this stuff. Why should I do all the walking?, he justified his question to himself.
"Well," she replied, her voice with the tone of one who isn't used to being talked back to, "I was going to go find something to eat, but if you'd rather be the one climbing trees and such, by all means, don't let me take all your fun away." She wasn't looking at him, instead busying herself with arranging the twigs. Then she scowled. "No kindling..? How in the blazes..." She sighed, stood, and disappeared out of the cave, heading toward the forested area. She'd seen some trees with light, wispy bark, and that would do as kindling.

He deflated as he trudged along after her. "Fine, I'll go and look for rocks," he muttered after her, then parted ways with her. He admitted privately that if it were up to him getting food, the only way he'd get a good yield would be to start ramming into various trees and hope whatever fell from them didn't crush his skull. Or if only they had a fishing pole, then he could rest and be semi-useful at the same time. He filed away that problem in the back of his mind... he did have something he could try tomorrow if he woke up early enough, provided that woman was elsewhere nd not around to see him trying to catch a fish with his bare hands... Assuming they got the fire going. He'd have to be pretty desperate to eat raw fish, personally.
But he also resolved to think on the problem of fishing poles and bait.
But for the meantime, he was looking for rocks, unless Myghin really wanted to chase after him and hold him to his sullen question.
