Hello, hello!
Well, here we are again, sitting in our chairs in front of a computer, surfing through thousands of little blue threads, looking for something worthwhile to do with our time. We've all decided to land ourselves in this lovely little subforum in hopes of striking it rich through the good old medium of prose or poetry. Rich? No. Wealthier? Yes!
All of you probably know me, and if you don't, you'll get to know me. I'm a writing forum regular, more of an observer than a poster, but I did get my licks in about a month ago when I held a huge contest through which I gave out nearly 400k in prizes. I'm sure some of the people that will enter this contest will be repeat competitors, and I look forward to see them all again.
We made some friends, had some laughs, and won some money in the last contest, and I'm hoping we can do it all again! The last thread went from being about the competition to being about a chat forum where people to hang around. That's what we're all going for here, right? It's not about the gold.

Anyways, here we are again! On the road to money making. I am here to issue my challenge, and if people remember, my challenges tend to be just that...challanging. I have to say that nothing I will ask you to do will destroy braincells, and you won't have to stay up all night contemplating things, but I try to give you something fresh and new to write about.
I know a lot of you are participating in NaNoWriMo, and I was too, but that kinda died because I haven't found time to write. It's hard to do so for me right now. Those who are in my guild know why. I thought I would hold another contest to supplement my lack of literary accomplishment, and here it is. This will work much like it did last time. I'm going to give you a prompt, and you write about it. Simple, huh?
Here's your prompt:
Take a look at this picture. I have circled in red (high tech, yeah?) a certain note on this board that is stabbed through with a knife. Your job, if you choose to accept it, is to write a story about that note. What does it say on it? What does it mean? Why is it stabbed up there with a knife? What's going to happen? Who put it there?
The seven people in front of the board MUST be present in the story or poem or the entry will not be considered valid. They can be your characters with your names, but you must make it plain that they are indeed those seven people. Note that one person is wearing wizard attire. It is NOT necessary for you to make this story or poem one of the fantast genre just because there's a "wizard" in the picture.
Maybe he's a crazy person? Maybe it's Halloween? Maybe he's just special. Or, maybe he is a wizard. Whatever your heart desires. Just remember that originality is key. I love to read something unlike anything else. I love plot twists, and any story that can make me double take at the end gets a thumbs up!
Judging will be done solely by me. I'm into grammar. No leet speak, no net speak.
I would be lying to telling you that poetry will be judged on the same level as prose. I don't like poetry very much, so those of you who write prose will have an admited adavantage. I just didn't really want to exclude anyone, but I'm being honest.
I never change an entry fee.
