Background:

The purpose of the Writing Contest Yellowbook is to help contestants find contests and contest-holders get more contestants. Since keeping track of all the new contests can be a bit of a hassle, we decided to offer a bit of an incentive to you folks to submit them--good old gold.

Once a contest has been judged and finished, it will be removed from the list within a week (though it will still qualify for the prize in this contest). Likewise, any contest which goes 'dead', (i.e. the stated deadline has passed and nothing has been heard from the judge, or no deadline was ever set and the thread has become completely inactive), will be given a one-week grace period before being moved to the 'abandoned'.

This isn't an attempt to be mean, just at keeping the list clutter-free and useful.
