Guest Stars (aka. my other pets)

~Illdon - Eidechse

User Image
Profile:
Position in the "household": Leader/Protector/Eldest
Attributes/Abilities: Human speech, incredibly strong and agile for his size.
Personality:Quiet, layed back and loves to sit back and merely observe. However, at the slightest hint of danger all this shatters and he becomes extremely focused and protective. He takes his unannouced positions very seriously, and will not hesitate to do whatever it takes to get those under his protection away safely.

~Zozma - Caelith

User Image
Profile:
Position in "household":Child/Prankster
Attributes/Abilities:Communicates by squeaks, fast and nimble because of size, extremely clever and creative for his age. Also his eyes and the green markings on his body glow in the dark as well as being overly bright in the day time
Personality: Playful and mischievious would be an understatement. Still in his childhood phase he loves causing trouble for both Illdon and Asellus whether it be running off or pulling pranks on either one of them. However underneath all of that is a need to always be around someone. If left alone he becomes skittish and nervous and normally will just curl up in ball and start crying out of fear.

The Valiant Cry - Aershaa

~Discovery!

It had been a simple and ordinary day for the most part. Asellus was up before the crack of dawn, waking all the other inhabitants of her house rather unwillingly. After the usual hustle and bustle of getting thing ready for the day, she stepped out of the house, yelling for Illdon to take care of things untill she got back, as she scurried out and closed the door behind her.

It was now a routinely ritual for her, to go on her morning jog through the edge of the woods. For the most part that was ordinary too, aside from the unusual quiet that was normally filled with small animals scurrying about, while birds sang. She was still to asleep to really pay it any mind though and continued on her way.

She stopped at her usual spot, huffing slightly as she steadied herself on an old tree trunk that had long been seperated from the rest of the tree. Leaning against it to catch her breath, she couldn't help but look around and notice something didn't seem right. Nothing was new about the clearing, suddenly as she turned her head, a red glimmer caught her vision and left. She turned her head again and stopped when she saw it, before approaching it carefully. There was something red and shiney beneath the bush at the far end of the clearing.

Kneeling beside said bush, she took her hand and gently brushed away the tangled mess of overgrown leaves and sticks and branches and stuff untill the object was in plain sight. It was an egg, that much could be told. But it was the purest shade of ivory marred by black zig-zagging stripes that looked to be scratched on the front. Even more peculiar were what appeared to be the shards of ruby (or something similar) embedded into it. With a careful hand she rubbed her hand along the black marks, it was just as smooth as the rest proving that it was natural. Hesitantly she scooped the egg up in one hand and stood, fearing she'd loose her balance that way and fall with the egg in her hand. Craddling it in one arm and rubbing her free hand across the surface she couldn't help but sigh lightly. It felt warm and... a feeling she couldn't describe. It was that feeling you get when you borrow something from a friend but it turns out that said item was your in return. You know it's yours just by the feel, and that's the feeling she got from this.

Deciding to save the questions untill she got home, she craddled the egg deep in her arm so it'd be safe and jogged home. She couldn't help but grin slightly as she pushed the door to her house open. Illdon and Zozma were in the other room, she could hear them. Suddenly she called out, the grin never leaving her face. "Hey guys, come look at what I found on my jog!"

~Strange Happenings/ Anticaption!

The past week had gone by, slowly and very regularly for the most part. Even with the discovery of the egg things hadn't become much different except for the random peeks by everyone into Asellus' room where the egg has been nestled in a nest of cloth that sat on the stand right beside her bed. Halfway through the week was when Asellus began to notice something peculiar.

The egg seemed to react to certain things that happened outside of its' protective shell. Like the egg could actually sense that you were there. It was kinda unnerving at first but it was something that just seemed to fall into place with the rest of odd quirks that made up her life.

It had been late Wednsday night, and outside the whether had become... rather nasty. Pouring rain, lightning flashing across the sky, accompanied by a crash of thunder afterwards. Asellus had stayed awake of her own free will to watch out the storm, it was a show to her. However about halfway through the night, after a particular large crash of lightning, she heard a bump, from the hallway accompanied by a squeak before her door slowly began to creep open. It creeked lightly as it opened agonizingly slow and as soon as it was open enough, a small creature shot across the floor and bolted into bed with her, shivering beneath the covers.

Asellus sighed, knowing exactly what was going on and was quick to dig under the covers and pull out the frightened Zozma. The poor creature was soaking wet and shaking like a leaf. This however puzzled her, why was he outside? Especially since she knew he hated this kind of weather. Then it dawned on her, Illdon had taken a liking to this whether when he was a child, and Zozma and accompanied him, on fear that he'd be left alone. Sighing she wrapped the small creature up in the edge of one of her blankets and craddled him against her chest. She began hum something then, a completely random tune that came to mind as she continued. Shortly after it had broken into full fledge song, using poetry verses for lyrics, or more like anything that came to mind. Shortly after, Zoz had fallen asleep, his shaking had stopped, and his breathing was even. She had then casted a seemingly random glance over to the egg that was nestled in blankets on her night stand. To her suprise, it was glowing slightly. Well not the entire egg but the embedded red jewels were. With a cautious hand she ran her hand over the surface to find that the egg was un-naturally warm.

Panic was the first thing that came to mind. What if something was wrong? What if it was sick? Asellus really didn't know if an egg could get sick, but there was always a possibilty. However, there was absolutely nothing she could do now. She'd have to wait untill morning.

So then morning came, and the egg was cool, as if last night had never taken place.

So the egg could react to stuff going on around it, well that was kinda creepy, yet intriguing at the same time. So Asellus had over the past few days began talking with it, singing to it, evening bringing it on her morning jogs with her if it wasn't too cold out. The reaction was the same everytime, the jewels would glow slightly, and it would get warmer. All of this lead Asellus to wonder, just what exactly would come out of the egg when the time finally came.

~Suprise suprise!

Asellus awoke with a yawn as she shifted slightly in her bed and stared up at the ceiling. She was in one of those modes where you can think clearly, but you have no idea what's going on around you physically. Her thoughts were brought back to the previous night. All night long she had heard strange noises. Crackling sounds, squeaks that sounded a lot like something that would come from Zozma, and creeking, which came from the floor boards when someone who didn't know where to walk and where the squeaky boards were. Multiple times she had gotten up and searched for the culprit, thinking that maybe Zozma couldn't sleep again and was wandering around. But she had found him curled up next to Illdon sleeping peacefully. After awhile the noises ceasest and she fell asleep.

Stretching slightly in her spot, she blinked in confusion when she felt the comforter pull slightly as if there was something next to her. Without a glance, and with a small grin, she reached her hand down to pet the creatures head. "Morning Zoz, couldn't sleep?" When the creature hadn't responded she sat up looking down only to notice that the creature beside her was indeed not the fuzzy little caelith, but a much larger creature.

Taking in a calming breath she suddenly squeaked and rolled off the bed, away from the unknown being and slunk into the corner. Startled by the noise, said creature squeaked as well and dashed off of the bed and into the opposite corner, taking the blanket with him so his form was hidden beneath it.

Finally, something clicked in her mind. The creatures colors looked remarkably familiar. Red, white and black... where had she seen that pattern before? Standing up she glanced over at her night stand, not really all suprised when she noticed nothing was there except for a chunk of the shell. Slowly and curiously she made her way to where the new creature was huddled in the corner shaking. It took her a few moments to get a plan in her head as to how to approach this situation. Afterall she didn't want her new friend to be afraid of her, that wouldn't work at all. Grabbing the edge of the blanket she slowly began to pull it away in an attempt to get a better look at the creature. However as soon as his head was exposed he took off, darting underneath the bed.

"Hey it's okay...." She murmmered as she slid across the floor and next to the bed. She craned her neck to look down beneath the bed. She frowned at what she saw. The poor thing was huddled back against the wall shaking, its' face hidden from view by it's twin tails that were coiled around itself. She attempted to reach out to him with her hand but he only shied back away before curling up again. Retracting her hand, she sat back in a crouched position. She needed to find a way to get him to come out. She could always call Illdon or Zozma to help her....but she didn't feel like scarring the poor creature for life.

With a hopeless sigh she sat back down on the bed, carefully as to not spook the creature below. She pulled her knees up and scooped the nearest book up and popped it open. Her new pet would have to come out sooner or later, and she'd be here waiting.

A few hours past, an Asellus was beginning to get impatient, but it didn't show. She had been reading the same poetry book for 3 hours, and she'd read over the same poems at least 5 times a piece. She looked at another, rolling her eyes as she looked away and recited it word for word without looking. Just as she had finished she heard a slightly rustling noise coming from underneath the bed. She peered over the side to see only the creature's nose sticking out from underneath the skirt. Leaning back to her book, she began to read off another poem. This time she actually read the poem instead of reciting it like a broken record. After each phrase she heard more scratching and soon enough when she finished the poem, the little creature was completely out from underneath the bed and it's head and front paws were visable to her as he peered over at the book she was holding. Suddenly it looked up at her eye for eye. His ears suddenly drooped and he looked as if he was about to hide again.

Making a move before he ran away again she patted the bed next to her and motioned for him to join her. He dissapeared off the side of the bed. She frowned for a moment thinking she might have scared him off when suddenly he hopped up at the foot of her bed. Cautiously he approached her, twin tails beneath his legs and his head bent, ears drooped. Saddened by his behavior, she reached out and stroked his head gently once he was at arms length. He had taken a few more steps towards her before he realized she was petting him, that's how light her touch was. He looked up at her hopefully only to get himself scooped up in her arms. He struggled for a moment, unsure of what was happening, but that ceased when he found himself nestled in bunch of blankets in her lap.

She bent over slightly and whispered to him. "I'm sorry if I scared you or gave you the wrong impression. I just didn't expect to wake up and find you laying next to me." She kissed the top of his head lightly and picked up the poetry book, quietly reciting some of her favorite poems for both of them.

~Yay for newborns...

The first few days after the hatching had been slightly hectic. Asellus had decided to keep the newborn isolated for a bit untill he could get the basics down. Like walking for instances. Apparently the mad dash from the bed had been a fluke of sorts and the young creature could barely stand now. So she took to bringing in food everyday, and for the most part, living in her room.

Keeping the others out of her room wasn't too much of a problem. However, once the young Tohopka had learned to walk, it was the chore of keeping him inside that was the hard part. Despite this, whenever the young'in began to feel bored or restless she'd just whip out a poetry book and within seconds her precious was laying in her lap, enraptured by every word that came from her mouth.

At night time it was quite hard to get the baby to settle down and go to sleep, even if it was 3:00am. Although he was never very energetic, he must've had a lot of energy stored because he NEVER slept. However once in awhile he did managed to calm down enough to sleep. His sleeping spot of choice was on the bed pressed up against the headboard where most people place their head while sleeping.

Well, refusing to change her habit of sleeping NORMALLY for the little Tohopka, she almost always ended up using him for a pillow. Luckily, neither of them seemed to mind much.

~Introductions-Zozma

So today was the day. Everything was going normally, she'd brought Dante his breakfast, who still remained isolated in her room. However, today, that would change. The little one could not be kept in her room his entire life, and the other residents of the house were anxious to meet the new addition. So today, instead of bringing something in for him to play with, it was more of a someone.

She cracked the door open, and upon sight, the little tohopka was at the door leaping up and attempting to get a glimpse of what she held in her arms by using her leg for support. Whatever it was, was concealed by a crimson colored blanket with bright green fringes hanging off the edges.

"Come come, Dante, I'd like you to meet someone." She said casually, causing Dante's ears to perk up and he kinda slid over and leapt up onto the bed, and awaited Asellus.

"Energetic are we?" She asked out loud. Not only was she answered by a squeak from Dante, but a also a small more high pitched one from the bundle in her arms.

Dante became even more curious and creeped over once she sat down onto the bed. Suddenly the creature in the blankets leapt out and bolted around the room before choosing under the bed to remain.

Dante was spooked when the creature sprung to life and rolled back off the bed. Hearing this, the small creature under the bed leapt out and pounced on Dante, playfully. In response Dante rolled over, forcing the other creature onto his back. The litte creature slipped out from under Dante and pounced on him.

This continued for about 15 minutes before they collided with the bookcase, and were rained upon by several large books causing both of them to squeak and bolt off to underneath the bed.

"Okay guys, enough rough-housing." Asellus said as she walked over to clean up the tombs that had fallen from the shelves. You two go play outside or something." Answered by multiple squeaks, the two had bolted of in nothing more that a blur of red and white.

"Children...." She muttered with a smile as she continued to clean up their mess.

Introductions-Illdon

Only a few days had gone by since Dante had been introduced to Zozma, and already they acted like close brothers. As of now, they were outside playing, under Illdon's ever watchful gaze. This made her laugh. Dante had yet to meet the over-sized lizard thanks to Asellus concern, but that didn't stop Illdon from watching over him. Illdon had always taken a liking to basking on the roof of the house. This also gave him a perfect look-out where he could see without being seen. As of now, even Zozma didn't even know that the guardian was watching them.

Asellus had made her way up the hidden staircase and poked her head out of the weird doorway as she reached the roof of the house. "Heya Illy!"

Recognizing the voice instantly, the large lizard took his time as he yawned and arched his neck back to face her. He didn't speak, only nod in acknowledgement. He turned back to the ledge and glanced about, watching his younger "siblings" rough-house amongst the tall grass. He sighed lightly, other than that the only movement was of his tail sweeping the surface behind him, boredly.

"Such a nice day...." Asellus trailed off with a yawn as she walked up beside Illdon and sat at the edge, her legs dangling over. "But too warm to do anything but bask in the sun....I don't know how those two do it..." With another yawn she leaned against Illdon's side and used him a pillow. "Scratch that, too hot to do anything but sleep...." With that she dozed off curling up against the large lizard.

He'd been watching her out of the corner of his eye. When he was sure she was asleep he took a quick glance at her and rolled his eyes. "Typical...." His voice was low and grumbly, a side effect from having to speak quietly. With that he coiled his tail around her protectively out of habit and layed his head down on his forepaws. "Okay...so maybe a small nap doesn't sound too bad afterall..." And soon after, he too was asleep, leaving the little ones down below, unsupervised.

***********************3 hours later***********************

With a low whiney groan, Asellus yawned as slowly came to. Stretching her arms up she accidently whacked Illdon in the head, causing him to roll away from her with a growl as he too slowly awoke. Asellus sprawled on the ground once her support and rolled away and merely layed there. Blinking, she glanced up at the now twilight sky. She took a moment staring at it, not really comprehending it. Suddenly she sprung up. "Illdon! Where are the little'uns?"

She quickly glanced about from her vantage point odviously spazzing when she couldn't find them.

Although much more calm on the outside, Illdon too was freaking out in his own way. He'd fallen asleep on the job! With a grunt he leapt forward right off the roof and landed heavily on the ground. Not wasting any time he charged out to the surrounding forest. "Check the house, I'll search around!" He barked back to the freaking-out girl on the roof, this time his voice was higher in pitch, a clear and sharp bark instead of a low grumble.

Asellus paused for a moment to take a deep breath before charging through the oddly-shaped doorway, not caring that she smacked her head on the frame as she went.

To say that she tore the house apart looking for them was an understatement. Every section of the house that could possibly house the two missing young ones was examined, re-examined, and re-reexamined. Once she was convinced that there was no possible way they were in the house she bolted out the front door, grabbing her cloak and headed for the woods.

Illdon had circled the premises at least 3 times all the while thinking as to where the two munchkins may have wandered off to. There weren't that many places that seemed to jump out at him. Suddenly his head shot up as he heard the sound of approaching footsteps. The person was running. Catching the scent he instantly called out. "Over here Asellus...." His voices was light and whispy, yet amazingly she heard it and came running over. "Anything?"

"Nothing, not even a stray hair...." She trailed off as she leaned back against the tree for support as she thought. Where on earth would they've gone? There was no need for them to venture anywhere when the house was right there. Suddenly something clicked in her mind and she began to replay something in her mind from this morning.

"Momma! Momma, momma, momma! Come on wake up mom!" Asellus groaned as she rolled over in her bed and accidently fell onto the floor.
"Ugh....what is it hun..?" She asked sleepily to the tohopka that had practically bounced her off her bed.
"You promised us you'd take us to the pond this morning!" Growling slightly, Asellus propped herself up on an arm and peered out the window.
"Dante....hun not right now..." She stood slowly and promptly collapsed in her bed again.
"But you promised! You promised, you promised, YOU PROMISED!" Asellus grabbed the nearest pillow and shoved her head under it.
"Not before sun up did I." With a small pout, the tohopka left the room, tails between his legs and ears flattened.

Before the scene had stopped replaying, she was already off, running as fast as her legs could carry her. "Hurry Illdon! They're at the pond!"

Sprinting full speed, it took them less than 5 minutes to make it to their destination. Once they'd reach the clearing that the pond was in, both froze at what they saw.

Lounging beside the pond was a large pearly white and sun-kissed colored wolf. The wolf was almost as long as the pond spanning about 9 feet in length from nose to tail tip. Another strange feature were the large tangerine feathered wings that sprouted from it's back. The creature had it's head down resting on its' paws, its' eyes were squinted shut as if in pain, and its breathing was irregular, comming in odd rasping intervals.

The suprising thing was that both Dante and Zozma were laying at either side of the creature's head, both with worried expressions on their faces. Dante however caught sight of both of them and instantly perked up. Alerting Zozma, Dante leapt up and ran over to them. This however caught the large creatures attention, and it raised it's head slowly, cracking open one eye. Growling slightly, the large wolf's hackles rose as it attempted to stand.

Illdon was quick to react, leaping in between Asellus and the large creature. Illdon crouched defensively, head lowered and growling while he positioned his tail blade infront of him protectively.

Asellus however walked beside the large lizard, whacking him on the head, completely knocking him out of his stance. With a small smile she scooped Dante up in her arms and approached the large wolf despite the warning.

Keeping one arm around Dante, she extended her other towards the large creature as an offering. The wolf lowered his head, pulling his mouth back in a growl, showing off his teeth, but this did not discourage her. It appeared that the large creature was about to take off her hand, when Zozma, who was still sitting next to the wolf, rubbed into his leg with a whine.

The wolf backed down, glancing down at the small caelith before glancing back up at Asellus. Slowly he lowered his head towards her, sniffing her hand slightly.

"See? I mean no harm..." She spoke gently as she petted the fur on the creature's muzzle. The creature relaxed in response, however still kept a close eye on the lizards in the back. Suddenly, the wolf whined slightly and layed his head back down on his paws, his eyes wincing.

In response she knelt beside the large creature, lowering Dante back down to the ground. She stroked the wolf's mane comfortingly before sitting down. "Easy there fella...what's the matter..."
