An Ever Growing World

Core is a world of many crossroads. Magic, technology, war... they exist in dissonance, harmony, and echo.
But just as music is made of notes, so is history made of her people.
Once a world rich and alive with an ancient race, such beings have fallen from power, giving rise to an era of man; technological ingenuity has founded both a time of splendor-- and a time of war.

Battle lines have been drawn between man's two kingdoms, hungry for conquest and hold on power. Yet, how they can see such power awaiting is known only to them.

And it is in this darkening time that keepers of the peace have risen to the challenge of such a war...
This is my story.
This is your story.

This is an ever growing world.

The Djinn of Malagil

"Malagil just winked at me," a child had spoken up at a harvest, looking to the sky.
"Oh wait... is he crying?"

The glories of the harvest had hesitated for just a moment then, and a few curious elders spared a fleeting glance to the night. They saw the moon, pale and full- easily one of Malagil's sentinels- there were stars among him, resting, caught up in a world of endless ink...

"Don't be foolish," chuckled one of the elder Djinn, who was a Griffin at the time, "Malagil is not any different from this morning, or yesterday evening."

The child shook his head, persistent.
"Malagil is sad! Watch, watch. You'll see his tears."

And so the Elders did watch, and the youths grunted with displeasure as the Myrrh weighed heavier in the bags upon their backs, growing stale. It wasn't for many moments that indeed, like a ray of ethereality, a shooting star plummeted across the sky...

Who Are You?

As your character grows and develops, they have the opportunity of change. Instead of playing a character that grows up, you will play a character that goes through a gradual change, and therefore grows with you; essentially, this character will start as one of the two warring races- and will morph as they are continually roleplayed or exposed to plot forces.

What they morph into will be a Child of Diandros. Exactly how they go about changing is only yours to say. But the change must be slow, gradual or not.

There are only two guaranteed stages for these changes, and that is the starting picture, and the ending picture. Anything inbetween will only be played out with words, and imagination. It is urged that you make these changes realistic; their appearence alone is not the only thing that should be morphing.

Eventually, nearing the end of your character's design, they should come to the startling truth about themselves, the races, and the life they will be leading, to spurt a final change. The reason that they underwent a change in the first place should become clear.

The Republic of Karan

Near the border of Renash lie a hub of activity and technology. Being the foremost center of the arts, Karan is also home for cutting edge medicines and weaponry, as well as the prestigous University of Animal Welfare. These things and more make the city a huge plethora of cultural wealth.

Karan is a Republic, governed by her people. A president is elected through popular vote, and is shadowed by a handful of people (also elected) which can both create and veto laws. The current president is Folren Ce Carlos, and his "cabinet" is made up of Senator Baque, Senator Marle, Senator Kovac, and Senator Wu, as seen here.
There is a consul from Leis beside the president's office.

Karan is mainly made up of metal and cement structures, many of which are modern in design. There is very little space, thus the people here commonly live in apartments or small town houses, and have only their feet as transportation.

More important is the knowledge that many humans in Karan co-exist with Djinn to an extent; some are kept as pets, while others are allowed to do base gruntwork in factories and shops. Since the creation of the University of Animal Welfare, there have been a large number of drives and charities to preserving the Djinn race, as well as studying them further.
Not everyone lives peaceably as such, however, and many do not believe in the Djinn having a place at all in society.

Important Factors to think about if your character hails from Karan:

¤ Co-existence with Djinn (or humans), including how they might treat, work with, and view them.
¤ Relatively crowded city; things must be expensive here.
¤ What their job is, if they have one at all.
¤ How they view the government, if at all.
¤ Djinn are not permitted independence. They are not allowed to live indoors without a master, and they are not allowed to vote or use public services, like mail. The only rights they are entitled to is purchasing or trading work for items. Would this effect your character, if at all? How?
