EXPLINATION FOR //UNOS//DOS//TRES//CATORCE//
"Unos, dos, tres, catorce" can't mean "Ones, two, three, fourteen".
i looked deeper into it, Found a reference to the bible. Seemed a bit crazy, but upon further investigation, it made me think.....
"Unos" means ones? How about "Unos" means "some"? How about "unos" means "some or about"?
If it can mean "about", it can mean "about 2 - 3:14". This looks like a bible reference so I looked you Exodus
and I found this,
"About Exodus 3:14" means "God replied, "I am who I am. Then he added, "This is what you should tell the Israelites: I AM sent you."
Deep, perhaps, but listen to the album and think of the persona that is Bono.
He founded DATA (see www.Data.org). He is very involved in world politics, civil liberties, Green-peace, Amnesty International, Burmese Freedom, and was nominated for the 2003 AND 2004 Nobel Peace Prize. This is not your average Rock Star.
The world is in disarray. George Bush is still the President of America. His whole re-election was credited to right-wing evangelical Christians. America is at war with Muslims (although we prefer to say we're at war with terrorism). The Middle East is in chaos because of religion. Northern Ireland is a mess because of religion. U2 is printing "Unos, dos, tres, catorce" on the backs of their t-shirts. "Uno, dos, tres, catorce" can't be a poor interpretation of Spanish. LISTEN TO THE ALBUM!!! More importantly "All Because of You All because of you, All because of you, All because of you, I AM!" i.e. all because of you, all because of you, all because of you, GOD! This is no love song to a human.
The album is all about God. Sorry for those of you that can't get your minds off of girls. This band has never been about girls all the time. Christ taught with parables and metaphors; U2 has been doing the same thing from the beginning. The world will never understand. A select few will. Thank God for the select few, including U2.
