A friend and I are working on an indie comic and we need ARTISTS/INKERS (preferrably people who, themselves can do both). The medium will be black and white at first with a concentration on heavy inks. In style terms, think Jim Mahfood, Rob Schrab, and Doug Tenepel. An ability to be able to hit on or fake anime style is also fun.
We're not going to give too much away about the plot/storyline because we are very serious about getting this comic printed, but if we have some interested parties we will be sharing the rough idea with them. Think along the terms of odd humor, pop culture, weird character designs, bizarre superheroes, and funky heads. Mature yet playful people preferred. We can provide reference drawings (for characters/buildings/etc) but neither of us are good enough to draw a whole comic.
We need people willing to put in the time to draw pages but we would also like people for covers if this idea generates interest. The only drawback is we have little or nothing to pay, depending. It's really the brainchild of poor starving college kids. But it's a good idea.. and a fun one.
I know this description doesn't give a lot away but the comic is called "Duff Love" (unrelated to Duff Beer) about our main character, Duff (who has a stone whale for a head), and his hometown which is the center of everything. Yes everything. Ferreal... no seriously.
We have 6 story arcs already mapped out which include undead rock bands, superhero leagues, scientists, robots, dinosaurs, neighborhood bar regulars, and a billion clever spoofs on popular culture.

We will take everyone willing into consideration and are looking for more than just one person for this. We are more than willing to listen to creative input in relation to design but in terms of story/dialogue/writing, this is our baby.
