Thread Killer, Inc. is a non-profit organization that helps thread killers come to terms with their thread killing abilities. Some frown upon thread killing, but we see it as a gift. Imbrace you thread killing ability!! Embrace I say!!!

What is it?

What is a Thread Killer?
A Thread Killer is a user who posts in a thread, but after a while no one will post after them making the thread die and fall off the front page. crying

Ok, well, how about StillBorn threads?
A StillBorn thread is any thread created by a user that does not attract anyone, and therefore it just dies. . .

And you said something about Thread Downers?
A Thread Downer is a user that will post in a thread constantly and the user will notice that after they post less and less people come to the thread making it die.

And lets throw in some other random quotes and stuff. . .

Mihaly, on the topic of the old thread.

This thread will die every five minutes and then suddenly it'll get 3 posts at one all during the same minute! AnnieHallow Mihaly calls it the "Thread Killer Fanthread Effect". It's the lesser known theory of chaos mathematics.

I think they're scarred to post after us because they are intimidated by our awsomeness. . . .

When You Know A Thread Is Dead:

Malemocynt, explaining thread death.

As long as it isn't down two pages, a thread in the GCD isn't really dead, so let's not be hasty in reviviving it when it's only halfway down the first page.

The bare maximum gap between posts would be one hour. Any longer and the thread falls asleep.

If it was three hours since the last post, the thread is in a light coma and can be revived with sufficient prodding.

Six hours and it is in a deep coma and requires a kick in the rear.

12 hours means it's under cardiac arrest and in need of immediate resuscitation.

A full day means it's in a vegetative state and requires hopes and prayers and lots of posting to bring it back to life.

A week since the last post . . . consider it dead and only necromancy could keep it alive.

What we need is more recruits. Search far and wide to see if there are any unfortunate people with the thread-touch-of-death. That way we can keep round-the-clock thread-killing shifts going on.
