I'm Lady Sickness, and I've been running rampant on Gaia for over two years now. During that time, I've had more than my fair share of quest threads, and in making this one I declare that it shall be my last. Why make one at all? Well, I want to make my quest official, keep better track of my progress and one doesn't get donations if people don't know you're questing. whee And it's better than spamming other people's threads, right?

Anywho, I've got a big, ever growing list in the next post of the items on Gaia I want, and have not been able to get yet. I hope to be able to gain everything on that list, even though it'll likely take me months, or even years to complete it. I've got plenty of time. biggrin

Here's my current beef, because it applies to my questing.

So, I'm roaming through this lovely Charity forum, bumping random threads and doing a bit of poll-whoring, and I decide to take a look at a few Charity threads.

Please, someone explain this to me... Why is it they all seem to require hanging out there and "chatting"? "Come in and make friends, you'll have a better chance to get a donation!"

Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but I've got my hands full trying to tend to this thread and run my guild. I don't have the time to sit in someone else's thread in the hope they'll decide to give me a donation.

What ever happened to just applying, bumping a couple times and then crossing your fingers? Either you qualify, or you don't. Forcing people to hang around and "chat" in the vain hope of getting a donation is bullshit.

An addition, because I've heard a lot of bitching about this:
I understand that trying to keep a thread like that active and full of talking instead of bumping is difficult. However, if you're good people, and you have a good thing going, your charity should attract enough people on it's own, without having to force them to stick around by making talking a requirement.
