Econimically britains comparative advantage is in monitary services so banks and silly crap. the other advantage to Britian is pharmacuitcal research.

All the perks of americas and technological advancement with none of the stem cell or chemical prohibition. Course china is encroaching on this market.

Our role is the fragile bridge between US and EU, politically voting with its feet and tentatively favouring the US, though trying at the same time to diplomatically lean toward the EU.

As a power, it is strong enough to hold its own but though the army is very fine it is small and so military forays into foreign countries have to be backed by larger groups. This is fundamental in undermining the strength of the British diplomatic voice, and main strength actually comes from having the ear both of the US administration and in being a leading member of the EU and of NATO.
