Introduction

What if there was a place of great beauty? A place so fruitful that it could fulfil all your wildest dreams? You would assume that this place would also breed untold conflict. That's the way it has been, nobody has been able get a foothold in this mythical place. A permanent name hasn't even been given, it's just know as the disputed vale. Not even the forces of Barton or Durem have tried to claim this valley out of fear of sparking conflict.

The Vale is just waiting for a group to claim it as their home, or their last hope, or even for straight up greed. Anything to tame this land.

What the Vale didn't need was all three of those potential motivations coming around at the same time. One defending what they think is theirs, one looking for their last hope, and the other seeing a land of opportunity.

Each group knows that they can't win the Vale alone. Each has scoured the land looking for the adventurers, fighters, and anyone they can find to assist them. Of course they're offering very different things as rewards...

Fight for glory. Fight for power. Fight for greed.

But remember, there is no right or wrong. No good and evil. No black and white.

Only the side you fight for.

Only shades of grey.

The Story Thus Far...

"Ta da!" A young man removed his hands allowing his girlfriend to see, "It's our spot!"

They were a teen movie couple. She had long blond hair and blue eyes, he had a tacky flannel short sleeve and a silly grin. But this was indeed their spot and he intended to milk the memories. They had come for one of their very first dates here, and it was the perfect gesture on this fellows part...

To make up for any number of goofy mistakes of course.

It was a beautiful forest clearing in a place they were certain nobody from Barton or Durem even knew about, let alone inhabited. The perfect place to take a picnic and sit down. Pristine really, he loved it out here especially considering it was where she lived. Maybe someday he'd build a cabin here to be closer. If he could ever convince her that his inner handyman was competent. Maybe if he got her some chocolate after...

Then there was a blast from off in the distance, followed by the faded hum of machinery. The forest soon transformed into an unfriendly place. The sun piercing through the trees only made the shadows dance as the mechanical melody clanked and boomed in the distance.

She clutched him closely, almost afraid that the shadows would come alive. With the way things were going recently it wouldn't be a surprise. Hell, he had even heard rumours about monsters lurking in the shadows lately. She could almost see yellow eyes watching and waiting.

"Let's go back to the village." She said. He nodded, but regretted the wasted date and the inability to finish a thought.

You could cut the tension with a knife.

------------------------

"At least it's pretty," Bill said to Frank as they surveyed the area, "I don't think I'd be able to stand being out here in the middle of nowhere if it didn't look nice."

"It won't be as nice inna bit." Frank commented as he spray painted a big orange X on a tree, "The bigwigs think of this place as one big pile of money. Trees are all level B to A quality, mineral deposits up the a**, and this ground is fertile as all hell. This is the kind of place that they'd drown a sackfull of kittens for."

"Real class act." Bill laughed.

"Don't laugh," the two were just joking now, "These trees are gonna send my kids through College."

"How are they anyway? Can Lucy handle the two of them all by herself." the can sputtered out of paint and was thrown to the side, "You know they can be a handful. Especially when you don't have backup."

"I know, miss em all the same though."

"And Lucy."

"Especially Lucy if you know what I... s**t!" The sudden cursing was cause by the fact Frank had fallen into a hidden pit. He was lucky that Bill was there to grab him and provide some stability. Wasn't enough to prevent the foot that was already falling from meeting with a sharpened stake. Steel toe or not the thing cut through the boot and ripped into flesh.

"MOTHERF..."

"I got you man, don't worry about it." Bill was being careful not to yank Frank out, "We're gonna go back to the camp, get you some medical. Maybe you can get a little extra pay out of it, or get back to Barton and see Lucy."

Frank really needed those words. Even though it was only a little pit he was certain he was going to die there. Just last week Will had nearly been crushed by something like this, he had to be rushed to intensive care... They all figured he was in Durem right now, physio and all, be a while before he could walk again. Then there was the rumours surrounding the disappearances, some people said that demons from the shadows slaughtered the crew sent to investigate the ruins.

Official report was they fell.

"It's those villagers..." Frank threw one arm over his friends shoulders, "They can't be reasoned with, and every single one of them is batshit. They were offered everything, money, free development, hell, some of the foremen thought they could even be recruited for extra labour."

"Yeah I know frank."

"But they're insane! They set up these goddamn traps like we're in one of the stories my dad tells me about the jungles! What do they have against us anyway? We're just making our way... Ow!"

Bill now had to limp back to camp with his now ranting friend. This was just a great day...

A few moments later a shadowed figure emerged from the bush to examine the scene. It picked up a orange spray paint can and blinked as it examined it. Or winked I suppose if you want to get technical.

Seeing no use, the can was crushed. Thank goodness it was empty.

------------------------

"Diplomacy has failed sir." A cloaked figure said to a man in heavy black armour.

"On both fronts?" The imposing larger figure said in a surprisingly understanding voice.

"The villagers had the assumed reaction, horror." The cloaked one took a few steps forward, "The mining group went no better. We have received what we believe to be a stock response saying they do not negotiate, they only offer deals."

"And the deal was?"

" They offered the land without condition... when it is burnt out, spent, and stripped of every usable natural resource. They are unwilling to share."

The smaller figure held out a release on the mining company's stationary.

"It always comes down to this does it not?"

"They will attempt to drive us out sir."

"Will they be working together?" The armoured figure sounded exasperated, he thought he knew the answer.

"No sir. The Mining company does not negotiate with, as the company policy states, terrorists or monsters. The village are the first, we are the second. Though I highly suspect if they believed terrorists or mosters had something they could use their policy would be reversed."

"They plan to destroy each other rather than band together to drive out the shadow beasts?" The armoured figure almost laughed.

"The villagers believe this is their land. They see two obvious enemies defiling their land." The cloaked figure paused for a second, "I know how you feel about... Conflict... But with this split division we could force both groups of humans out."

"I know."

"But that will make us no better than the others. You have said this before."

"No, this land is unclaimed." The armoured figure rose, "We cannot run anymore, we have to stay and meet our challengers head on. This will be our land..."

"May I ask why here?"

"Because, the humans can go anywhere else without fear of genocide." The figure began to survey those he led bustle about the ruins they claimed as home. Jet black humanoids set about moving fallen stones and setting up makeshift tents. Each one had a yellow eye, and while some would see monsters the armoured figure saw hope.

"This is the only chance we have." He finished.
Factions

The Settlers
Leader: Mayor Henrik (Owle Isohos)
Heroes: Opaj (opaj)
Kalis Acineres (Psychofish)

These are a simple group of settlers, wishing to make a new life for themselves free from the hustle and bustle of the city and away from the dangers presented by the numerous adventurers who inhabit Durem, Gambino, and Barton. Most of them are human, or near enough to it; many also practice a form of nature worship. Led by Mayor Henrik, a summoner and former adventurer to whom many owe their lives, these settlers have entered the Vale looking to build a life in tune with the spirits of nature so many of them revere.

They see both the shades and the mining company as intruders who defile the land that rightfully belongs to them; the shades corrupt by their very presence, and the company strips the sacred earth bare of its glory.

Goals
To drive the shades and the company from the Vale so they might live in peace.

Resources
The summon magic of Mayor Henrik and a few others, plus the local militia. The settlers also have at their disposal the supplies they brought with them to begin their settlement; mostly food and livestock.

Rewards
The eternal gratitude of the settlement. These are poor folk, so the payment they have scraped together is poor at best; a handful of coin, foodstuffs and a fat goat. They also promise a statue in the town square for those who prove themselves most worthy.

White
The settlers only wish to live simply in the land they believe is rightfully theirs.

Black
The settlers drew first blood against the company and see the shades only as monsters. Though there is no proof to back up their claim on the land, they will fight mercilessly to keep it.

~---------------------~

The Yellow Eyed Shades
Leader: Shadelord Omikron (Joseph Brown)
Kaminosai (Kaminosai)
Alber Brotodeaux (Degobah46)

A group of cycloptic "shadow monsters" attempting to build a life. They were created by an ancient Spirit of Malice to maim, destroy and consume in the name of The Forgotten One. The last attack of this spirit involved the near destruction of Barton town, thus the shades have a reputation for being heartless killing machines. After that battle, one of the shade commanders broke free from the will of the Forgotten and set out on his own.

Facing endless fear and persecution from humanity, but fighting his destructive impulses the single Shadelord wandered for what he thought to be an eternity. This all changed when the Shadelord discovered that other shades were rapidly appearing, and some of them could think for themselves. The shadelord soon found himself in command of a growing faction of shades... All they needed was a home. A home like the vale.

Negotiations with the other factions turned sour quickly, and Omikron knew the only way he could defend their claim to the vale was enlisting the help of adventurers. The shades are a natural magnet to those who want power, those outcasted, and those considered renagades. And considering their nature are the mostl likely to turn a blind eye to the chaotic tendancies of those types.

Goals
To secure the Vale as a land Shades can put violence behind them and live in peace.
Resources
Raw power, the shades are numerous and willing to fight with all their being. Since the shades were created to fight, thus their malable bodies and different varieties provide many troop choices. The power of the Forgotten also encompasses shadow and null magic.
Rewards
The power of an ancient destructive spirit, without all the nasty losing one’s free will that comes with submitting to said spirit. The creation of lesser magic artifacts from dark matter, focused magical skills, and the favour of a growing power are all up for grabs.

White
The shades only want peace and a place to live without fear; the return to violence was quite unfortunate as diplomacy failed.

Black
That being said, violence is in the nature of a shade and can go into excess. They will fight ruthlessly, efficiently and without remorse.

~---------------------~

The Skinner Mining Company
Leader: Valen Skinner (themightyjello)
Heroes: Fang Ji Long (Kraun)
Genevive "Merry" Merrill (Skysong Moonsword)

An umbrella corporation that embodies several growth industries that are aimed towards harvesting the untapped, natural resources of a region and turning them into usable commodities. Homes cannot be built without lumber, machines require fuel to run, and without the minerals in the earth there would be no more iron, steel, copper, and tungston for manufacturing, or gold, sliver, and gemstones for decoration. With the recent boom in computer technology, gold has been in high demand for use in microcircuitry.

The work force of the mining company is the average man, laboring long hours at a tiring job so he can make enough money to support himself and his family back home in Barton. The management concern themselves with ensuring the future of the business which so many depend upon for the bread on their tables. However, due to the nature of their work the Skinner Mining Company has recently come under attack from various 'green' organizations and eco-terrorists; ranging from PETA to the Planeteers.

Due to the risk which these attacks place upon an already hazardous work environment, the company was forced to hire more armed guards to protect both the supervisors and the workers from terrorist attacks. This his placed a significant drain upon the company's funds, and with the recent expansion of Durem, demand for mineral resources and raw construction materials is high but the supply is low. By tapping the abundant natural resources in the Vale, the Skinner Mining Company would be able to afford this necessary protection for the workers and avoid the massive downsizing that is beginning to seem necessary.

Goals
To secure a strong and uncontested foothold in the Vale so that the families of the company's employees need not fear for their safety.
Resources
The almighty dollar. The company has sunk a lot of money into this operation, from hiring security and mercenaries as manpower to expensive heavy machinery and mining equipment. The miners, while none too thrilled about the idea of open combat breaking out, are strong-willed and believe firmly in the company that puts food in the mouths and clothes on the backs of their families.
Rewards
The SMC is willing to pay top dollar for able-bodied adventurers to bring the coming battle to a quick end. If money is not enough, they also have many suppliers who can procure hard-to-find items, such as a sweet bike.

White
Without the resources found in the Vale many innocent workers will lose their jobs, though many still are killed every week in eco-terrorist attacks aimed at 'shutting down the corporate machine'. These men are only doing their jobs, and their job is a necessary evil for the world as we know it to continue on.

Black
The company is trying to force the settlers out of their homes in order to harvest the forest and strip-mine the valley. They will use any tactic to make the land uninhabitted, even going so far as to make the land uninhabittable.

Late bio fee: 2000 extra gold

You may only enter one character.

Staff Hiring: Biograders and Judges.

Player

Joining Shades of Grey as a player requires two things: a bio and a 1000 gold entry fee. First, send your bio to one of the bio graders listed below, and after your character has been accepted, go ahead and send me a trade for 1000 gold.

Send a bio in the following format to one of the bio graders. Every character has a character level somewhere between 1 and 20- the bio grader is the one who determines your level. If your character's level is below 5, the grader will tell you what parts could be improved and, if you want, you can rewrite and resubmit your bio. If your character level is 0 or lower, or your bio is for one reason or another simply unreadable, you will be asked to rewrite and given some pointers.

Guidelines on how bios are graded are included at the end of this post.

Quote:
Username: (Your Gaia name)
Name: (Your character's name)
Description: (A physical description of your character)
Quirks: (The details that make your character who they are. A mish mash of personality traits, strengths, and weaknesses.)
Equipment: (Weapons and any special items/armour)
Abilities: (Any special skill, ability, or talent your character has. Group like abilities together (i.e., all abilities that have to do with swordsmanship go together, fire powers go together, etc.).)
History: (If you have RPed this character before, tell us which parts of the history you RPed and which parts you made up.)
RP Sample: (Write your character doing something. You'll get a bonus for good and original RP style, so put in some effort!)
Faction you wish to join: (You must choose one, if you don't you will be unable to play the game. There's a dozen other places you can start random fights, here is not one of them))

You also have the option to register for a faction just so we can see the numbers. You still have to send in a bio to participate, but it will make it easier for everyone to get an idea of where they want to go (it also gives the admins a nice bit of data to plan the event with. To register for a faction just send this form to Joseph Brown:

Grading

Now, I know you're wondering how bios will be graded. The 20 point system is based on three main categories: Character, Combat, and History. Since this level is based less on physical strength and more about the grace of the gods the construction of an all around strong bio is very important. Character balance, creativity, and the ability to keep the grader's interest are all factors to keep in mind. A bio that focuses just on the combat aspects of the character will not do well, nor will a Tolstoy length bio with the flavour of saltines.

Character: Key areas are: Description and Quirks. (5 points)
Creativity is the key here, having a character that has it's own personality and style. Physical details help your fellow players, while personality quirks help you keep your character on track.

Combat: Key areas are: Abilities and Equipment. (5 points)
Fighting is often an important part of RP, and balance should be practised. A character should not be overloaded with abilities or equipment. You can only learn and carry so much. The more your character is able to do the less they are able to practice each individual talent. A dedicated mage will have stronger magic than someone who can cast and engage efficiently in melee.

History: Key areas are: History. (10 points)
History is what ties a bio together. It tells both the player and the reader how a character was formed. How they trained their abilities, what motivates them to continue, and what events carved their personality. A well thought out history is the key to a solid bio, because it should help every other section fall into place. A good history supports the other sections; if your history stretches other sections thin or contradicts them, consider revision.
Remember: Even if your character can't remember their past they still have one. Nor do you have to give away every little detail, most people like dramatic reveals.

Sneaky Points: (Up to 2 bonus points)
Sometimes there's things that just don't have an official section but are very impressive. These acts of ingenuity and creativity can earn you bonus points that make up for other shortfalls.

Graders will leave comments explaining low scores and bonus points.

One point will be subtracted if the bio format is grossly broken. We have lots of bios to grade, we'd prefer not to pick through your stock bio.

Far too overpowered character will be turned away without scoring. Revisions will be allowed if the player so chooses.

Resubmit Policy

There are three types of resubmits:

If your character level is below five you will be asked to do a maditory resubmit to enter SoG.

If your character level is from 6-10, you will be offered an optional resubmit.

If your character is from level 11-14 you can option a partial resubmit. You may choose to rewrite one, and only one, of the sections that were below average. For the record, 3/5 is considered average for combat and character, while 7/10 is average for history. Thus if you had a 2/5 combat section and a 5/10 history you could rewrite one or the other, but not both.

Sections of the bio that are deemed overpowered will be asked to be rewritten.
Rules
"Sit down, shut up, and listen"

We follow the Anti-Munch Project. This is pretty much a common sense list of things that are considered bad roleplaying. Love this list, love it to death.

The Anti-Munch Project

Here's the (unfinished) list of what we're against:
The people who never miss a single shot no matter how hard it is (Aimbotters).
The people who can't be hit or just shrug it off (god-moders).
The people who never are without a weapon and ammo (idkfa-ers).
The people who have absurdly strong powers (twinks).
The people who 'balance' thier characters by having a massive but irrelevant weakness and massive powers (min-maxers).
The people who use Out Of Character knowledge to get an edge (Miss Cleos).
The people who do things in hindsight (McFlys).
The people who RP other people's characters for them (Puppetmasters).
The people who RP completely irrelevant things (Daydreamers).
The people who RP actions and time against others while the others aren't presant (Shoe elves).
The people who ignore or alter RPs that they don't like (Revisionists).
The people who RP an absurdly time consuming sequence occuring between other people's actions (Speedhackers).
The people who play as characters that are completely impossible (Oxymorons).
The people who arbitrarily declare themselves the winner with instant death attacks (Baghdad Bobbits).
The people who've taken actions before they start RPing (Gaseous Snakes).
The people who pull-in elements that were approved in an unrelated RP (Augustines).
The people who use an existing persona and only RP them when it helps (Batmen).
The people who alter thier character as needed for the situation (Zoicite).
The people who gain abilities as they need them with no prior exposure (Trinities).

In these examples, A will be our Good RPer and B will be our Nasty Filthy Munchkin.

Aimbotters: Especially annoying when using NPCs, as NPCs don't get to argue about munch...
A: Three hundred seventy of my trained assassin gymnasts crest the hill, sight you, and rush toward you.
B: Luckily, I have three hundred sixty-nine bullets in my chain gun! I quickly mow them all down, each taking a single bullet to the head, and peg the last one with a rock in the sternum.

Godmoders: Obvious.
A: Now that you're strapped to the end of a naval cannon, I fire it.
B: Whoosh! I nimbly dodge, somehow forgetting the fact that I'm restrained by three-hundred-pound chain!

IDKFA-ers: Most likely people attempting to emulate Solid Snake or some other cheesy spy-novel hero.
A: You're all out of ammo for all five of your Ingram submachine guns, 501!|). Since you're buck-naked, I know I can now safely step into the open and begin returning fire.
B: Ha! Little did you know, I have twelve shuriken hidden within my pubic hair!

Min-maxers
A: I've successfully broken into the facility which gave you your incredibly 1337 power armor. Now I pull up the file on it. What does it say about weak points?
B: The metal of my armor is... um... allergic to praying mantis urine.

Miss Cleos: Obvious.
A: ((OOC: There's a secret switch hidden in the lamp.))
B: I suddenly think to myself-- why not check the lamp for hidden switches? Call me now for your free reading!

McFlys
A: Ha! Now that the force field is down, I run inside your evil lair!
B: Um... um... there's also a super-secret second force field which causes you to die instantly! I just didn't say anything about it because... um... I had to do my laundry! Not because I just thought of it now! Honestly!

Puppetmasters
A: I step carefully into the room, peering around for occupants.
B: Suddenly a dragon pokes you in the eye. You run screaming from the room, whereafter you go home, make a pickle sandwich, and call your mother to cry about how she ruined your life.

Daydreamers: Not exactly munch, per se, but it does get annoying.
A: In the middle of the intense shootout, I dash across the narrow alley, ducking and weaving in hopes to avoid getting hit. I'm unsuccessful; two bullets peg me in the shoulder, throwing me back into a Dumpster.
B: The bullets make me think back to my days as a youth, when I had to melt down tin soldiers to use as musket balls against the Redcoats... or was it redskins? I can't remember. Anyway, I had to walk uphill all three ways to school and back, running from glaciers all the while. It was torture, lemme tell ya. And then there's the story of how I met my first wife...

Shoe elves: Pretty obvious.
A: ((OOC: Well, gotta go to bed. Big neurosurgery test tomorrow.))
B: Ho, ho, ho! Now that the loser's gone to bed, I can strap his character to a cross and peg him with rotten fruit!

Revisionists
A: You chose the blue pill? Ooh, tough luck.
B: Red! I said red! Don't go pulling that "I can read your previous post" mind game crap, either!

Speedhackers
A: I walk to the door and step outside.
B: Suddenly, twelve men grab you, carry you off to my secret lair in Tibet, and torture you for weeks. When you finally die from the agony, we bury you in the frozen wastes. Hundreds of years later, arhcaeologists discover your frozen body and try to determine if you're another Lucy.

Oxymorons
A: I'm a farmer with a shotgun.
B: I'm a black hole which emits blinding pulses of visible light!

Gaseous Snakes: An advanced (or is that "dumb"?) form of McFlys.
A: I walk to the door and open it.
B: Being a fellow with a bit of foresight, I hooked that doorknob to a car battery an hour ago. You're thrown across the room.

Augustines
A: Given that this RP's technology base is midieval, I happily drive my cart to the market to buy some maggot-ridden meat.
B: Too late! I already got there in my Gundam and blew up everything with my insanely overpowered weapons! And don't start whining, because my Gundam's already pre-approved in the "This Is Not a Midieval Technology Base RP" thread.

Batmen
A: In this Fantastic Four RP, I'll be Ben, the gruff rock-man with a heart of gold.
B: I'll be Reed Richards, the living sex toy who hunts down innocent women to subdue with his incredible flexibility!

Navigating the World

Each thread in the playing field will be linked to all threads accessible from that location. Before moving from one thread to another you are required to post a minimum of an entrance post and an exit post. Remember to pay attention to your surroundings while blazing though threads.

Game Rules

Mortal damage. There's sometimes when your character can't take any more and everyone knows it. In conventional freeform roleplay this is where miraculous saves and pushing yourself to the limit. Since points are awarded for defeat of players this has to be moderated. In the event of critical damage, and only in the event of critical damage, a roll is made.

Consider your character level in two part, attack and defence. Thus a level 20 character would have 20 attack and 20 defence. When one character takes critical the attacking player will roll a D20 and add their attack, while the defending player will add their defence. If the defending player rolls the higher number they continue on, while in the case of failure they can no longer earn any points for their faction. Yes this means your character either dies, gets knocked out, or taken back to the infirmiry in critical condition. Your game will be over.

From that point they can either "black out" and collapse, or go [link to side plot thread] to participate in the spirit realm side plot. Participating in the side plot will not earn you or your faction any points, nor will it allow you to influence the outcome of the main event. It is simply a chance to have some fun playing your character through an adventure in the afterlife. Though your character must be dead to participate, we guarantee they will be brought back to life by the end of the event. This makes the side plot a good way to bring back a beloved character who logically would have died on the field of battle.

Why is it a two part number? Since this roll is over miraculous saves, luck and the favour of the gods come into play more than physical endurance. SoG is a firm believer in luck running out. Every time you succeed a critical damage roll your defence rating will degrade by five. Thus a surviving 20/20, will transform into a 20/15.

While ultimatly the defending player is to decide when to roll, an attacker can request a roll. There are also times defeat is unavoidable and the roll can be waived for a one hit KO. If there is a disagreement a Judge can be called in to force a roll or a OHKO.

Healing. Minor healing is unregulated, major healing has rules. The only thing that counts as major healing is resurection.

A healer has the option to revive a "blacked out" player by transferring 5, no more no less, of their own defence points to the knocked out player. The catch is the healer only has a half hour after the failed critical damage roll to do this before the character is out of the game for good. The opposing faction still gets the points for defeating that player.

NPC retreat. When it comes to teritory control the rule is "if your NPCs are there you own it". Meaning if you have troops/farmers/whatever in a thread it's considered yours.

Now if an enemy attacks that place it's up to the PCs to assist those NPCs. Generaly NPCs allone will lose, especialy if the enemy is assisted by PCs. If the battle is not looking good for the defender, one of the defending faction heads will make a morale roll. Two d20, the first being the number to beat. If the second is larger the battle rages on, if not the NPCs retreat from that area.

Judging

Any time you need a judge for a fight, post in this thread and ask. Even if a judge doesn't get to you immediately, they will eventually, and they will nix the fight if they have to.

Don'ts

Now, for some basic don'ts.

Teleportation. It's going to be allowed, but it's frowned upon. Teleportation generally leads to less interesting role play, and lends itself to some major munching. As I said above, it's going to be allowed, but teleportation is going to be considered a crippling energy drain, and should only be used as a last-ditch effort.

Flight. Two types of characters who can fly: winged characters (wings can include jetpacks and whatnot), and magic users. These two make perfect sense. People who shouldn't be able to fly are, for example, warriors. The whole "DBZ controlling one's chi" thing isn't going to work here.

Dos

Well, that's about it for the don'ts. Here are some dos:

Detail. It's not a requirement, but it's greatly in your favor. If you simply write, "Chris slashes at ChikenBoi101," that leaves both ChickenBoi101 and the judge a lot of room for interpretation. It puts you at ChickenBoi101's mercy, because now HE gets to decide what angle you are attacking from; HE controls the flow of combat for that turn. Next time, at least you'll know to post "Chris swings his sword over his head, slashing down at ChickenBoi101's right shoulder."

More detail. This is really a continuation of the last paragraph, only for when you are fighting alongside others. It's just as crucial to be sure to explain where you are relative to your allies when two teams with multiple people on either side are fighting. Think of it this way... if everyone on your team just wrote, "I rush forward at ChickenBoi101," what's to stop ChickenBoi101 from posting, "ChickenBoi101 fires a single shot at the leader, the bullet flying through all ten of his attackers, as they were all conveniently moving at him in a straight line." "Chris rushes at ChickenBoi101, just behind and to the right of his leader," is much better. Which leads us to...

Tracking. Keep track of where the heck you are, and what sort of stance or position you are in. You aren't going to be able to punch ChickenBoi101 in the face, then kick the guy on the other side of the room in a single turn. Nor will it be an easy feat to block with your left hand when your right is extended forward, and your enemy is on your right side. (Possible, but certainly not easy.)

Stay true to your character. If we find you using abilities that you don't have, there will be consequences.

Prize Info

The part you've all been waiting for, how does this 1.5 million gold get distributed. Well, first off that will be divided between each faction. That means a 500k prize will be divided between the top three scorers on each side. Meaning the number one scorer gets (This division is subject to debate) 200k, the second highest scorer gets 125k, and finally the bronze medal finisher gets 75k. That leaves 100k up for anyone to claim by doing just about anything. Completion of objectives, claiming bounties, and playing really well are all potential money earners.

All a good reason to be the best within your faction, but why do you want your faction to triumph?

Simple, more money! We're taking an additional 100k and every registration fee and putting it into a jackpot that the winning faction.

All this plus IC rewards and the satisfaction of a good time. Which, I suppose is kind of like money that can't buy you anything. Ok, I guess it's not like money at all. Still good though.
