Hello to the thread of another PLC Concept Contest! This will be between Fall of Reason and myself, The Nozomi. If you are not one of us or Yiiei/Prosper Reed, please do NOT post.
There are a few rules to follow during this roleplay. I don't ask for much but PLEASE:

Minor godmoding is allowed - almost encouraged. Have your brat take charge - I won't mind
OOC is OOC. IC is IC. Period. Done.
I'm picturing Shui as mid-teen. I advise you to do the same because...him + kids =/= safe stuff. biggrin
Third person or I die inside.

The Family Legacy: From the year 58 to 68, Rome was under the rule of Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus (he was born under the name Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus).
Nero is probably most well known for the great fire of Rome. In the year 64 a fire swept through city, burning down a large chunk of it. Nero blamed the Christians for the fire, but many people thought the emperor was behind it. He had wanted to build a new place but there was no room left in Rome, then there was the fire. Nero sat idly by during the fire, watching from a tower, commenting about the beauty of the flames. It is said that ‘Nero fiddled while Rome burned.’
He used the Christians as a scapegoat constantly. He arrested a number of them, threw them to wild animals in the circus (Roman circuses were very different, they involved horse racing and wild animal hunting). He even burned them for lighting in his gardens at night.
Nero did not have a very good public image. He had murdered his own mother when he was young and then after the fire and heightened treason laws under his reign, the few good things he did didn’t seem to matter (he opened his palace to those left homeless after the fire). The way he acted didn’t help much. Nero thought of himself as an artist and enjoyed performing in front of people. This caused people to look down on Nero; an emperor was not supposed to act this way, he also not very good at it. No one was allowed to interrupt or leave during Nero’s performances and it’s said that those sitting in the higher seats would throw themselves over the walls instead of sitting through it.
In the end the senate revolted and deposed Nero. The emperor fled and rather than face capture he slit his throat. As he died he mutter, ‘what an artist dies in me’.
Account History: It was a lover of Nero’s that got the lyre from the emperor. When she saw that Nero was losing favour she stole it so she could sell it. A nice instrument like it could fetch a good amount of money and she wanted to keep living the good life she had gotten by being in the emperor’s favour.
No one really seemed interested in buying it from her however; it had belonged to a mad man after all. So she just held onto it. It was her nephew that took interest in the theatre so she gave him the lyre and told him about how it belonged to the emperor Nero. From there it became a family heirloom passed on from generation to generation. It was lost and forgotten about a number of times, it became battered and worn over the years.
It was a grandfather of Adonis that created the account at PLC. He had done some research into the lyre and found out a little about it and decided it was clearly special and needed to be kept safe.
It was Adonis’ aunt that inherited the account when her father (Adonis’ grandfather) passed away. Adonis’ own parent’s passed away when he was still a teenager so he was put into the care of his aunt and when she passed away when Adonis was twenty one, he inherited the account.

Legacy's Name: Talent
Legacy's Sex: Male
Legacy's Ability: When Talent is using his power he can ignite whatever he touches into flames. It doesn’t work all the time, at random points when he is learning how to control it and once he does, then only when he wants it to work, with a fair bit of concentration.
Legacy's Personality: In his young stages (baby, toddler, child) Talent will seem pretty much normal, a curious little boy who loves everything fantastical. He loves playing make believe. He’s pretty spoiled on top of that and pretty stubborn. If he wants something you better believe he’ll fight to get it.
It was probably from his love of pretending that he started to detach from reality. In his teenage years and on, his love of drama and pretending and acting he starts to see life as one big play and people are just actors. He loves creating drama too; he’ll plot and mess around with people just to watch their reactions. His spoiled behaviour turns to greed, which grows into paranoia, not only is he entitled to everything but everyone else is trying to take it away from him. It would also be in his teenage stage that he develops his love of fire. He can entertain himself for hours just by watching it, captivated by the beauty of it.
As he ages things would just get progressively worse, becoming more paranoid and more detached from things,
Legacy's Appearance: In the heirloom stage Talent is a lyre. It clearly old and worn, the wood is scratched, a few fleck of colour remain from a time when it was new. A laurel wreath pattern is carved into the body of the instrument and one of the strings is snapped.
Once he is human his eyes will be grey and his hair will be short, falling just below his ears, its straight until you get to the bottom where it curls and is black in colour. In his older stages (Teenager and up) he always has a noble air about him, standing up straight, and a self-confident look on his face.
Beyond that I don’t have any real specifics in his appearance, I’d like to give the artist creative licences so she can do as she pleases with the rest of him so that I might be surprised when he grows but so that the artist might have more fun with him.
Key's Name: Caesar
Key's Species: Rat
Key's Personality: Caesar is antisocial, she doesn’t like dealing with people other than Talent and will often scurry away from them and hide. She is very affectionate to Talent however, often perching on his shoulder and nuzzling him. She whispers in his ear too, giving him advice or encouraging his plotting and paranoid thoughts.
Key's Appearance: In the actual key stage there is a laurel crown, like those the roman emperors wore. Attached to that is a slender golden shaft and the tooth of the key is more laurels.
She has black fur and beady little red eyes. She is small at first but as she and Talent grow she gets to be bigger than a normal rat.
Special Traits/Talents: He is pretty good at acting and that helps him when he tells a lie as well. He has a rather vivid imagination as well, which causes problems cause if just feeds his paranoia.
Important Concept Detail: Not really important, just amusing. Nero had a some issues with his mother, it inspired me to have Talent call Adonis ‘mother’ all the time. Adonis is really girly but he isn’t going to like it.
I thought I’d explain the lyre, cause I wasn’t sure if it would be obvious why I picked it. I originally thinking of using a fiddle for the heirloom because of the line about Nero fiddling while Rome burned, but the fiddle wasn’t invented in Nero’s time. Lyre was also the instrument he played for his performances so I figured it worked.

Account: Yam
Legacy's Name: Shui-Long (formally. His adoptive mothers would call him Baird, meaning 'Bard' for IC reasons that include his shrill baby screams) Shui-Long has to do with the ocean and dragons.
Legacy's Ability: Due to the fact that Yam was chaos incarnate, the kid should/would have the same sort of abilities. The whims of his emotions as a child (and more developed as he grows) would cause the water around him to toil and twist. This includes liquid in the air, if there is a storm or fog nearby and snow. Snow to a lesser degree, however, then fog or water.
Legacy's Personality: Carefree and rather reckless, in a rather small nutshell. Deeper under the shell, however, he just really has no clue that the stuff he does can HURT people, on an emotional and physical level. His antics and mischevious makings are just a part of life to him - chaos is ingrained into his very being, from his first shouts as a baby (and there will be PLENTY) to the last breath of fight in his body.
That said, Shui-Long wouldn't be anyones pushover. Chaos and war/love/life are very strongly intergrained and he would tend to take all of those primal emotions seriously although fighting wouldn't necissarily mean war, or kissing/sex mean love to him. He'll fight for what he'd consider the right reasons, although they might not be the proper right reasons, or for the right cause. Silly boy.
Key's Name: Bo - it means 'waves'.
Key's Personality: In a sharp contrast to Shui-longs own harsh personality of not-knowing/not caring of others emotions, Bo will be very empathetic of others and how they're reacting during situations. Where Shui-Long would ignore a hurt expression, Bo would be the one to notice and soothe ruffled feathers or feelings over a misplaced words. She is, for lack of better words, Shui-Longs conscience and better-half, just as devoted as he is, just as strong willed, but more more intune with others and their feelings
Special Traits/Talents: Uhm...for little physical quirks, there's just two things I'd really like to see for Shui-Long. ^^ Blue eyes - mixes of different blues, chaotic and twisting around his pupil - and gauged earlobes. As for the traits that AREN'T magical, Shui-Long will have the ability to pull-pranks-and-not-get-caught. That, along with drawing-on-the-walls and tracking-mud-through-the-house, will make life interesting for the first few stages of life. Later on in life, though...time will tell.
He'd be a wicked day-camp counseler, though. A chaos-man in midst of a bunch of hyperactive eight year olds on summer vacation? Oooh. He would rule the world.
