Colorist Hiring Thread

Hello, and welcome to Kinekune Glade's colorist hiring thread! I am looking for about three colorists to hire for my shop, because my coloring skills are lacking at best and my lineart editing skills are next to zero. If hired, you will of course be paid for your work!

The shop is not yet open, and will probably open when at least one colorist is hired - however, the hiring thread will stay open until three colorists are hired, even if the shop opens before then. I still need certs and banner graphics, so it will not open until those are made.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be friendly and able to work well with others. Keep the drama out!
2. All the files are in .psd format, so you must be able to use a program that supports these files. A tablet is not required - only your talent will be judged!
3. Must be able to produce high quality work. We want to give the best to our customers!
4. Must be able to do lineart edits - sometimes simple, sometimes heavy! Edits must match well with the provided lineart and shading templates.
5. This will be a full time job. I do not mind if you work at other shops, however, please be sure you will be able to handle working here as well. Don't try to take on too much work!
6. Remember that you will be working with a team. For some events you may be asked to color an auction pet, or you may be asked to color a raffle pet... I will keep track of who does what at each event to keep things fair and alternate at each event.
7. Any pets that start as a baby or teen must have all their stages - excluding elder - fully colored and finished, before it will be sold. This means if you are asked to do two flatsale pets starting as babies, you will have to finish all three stages for both pets before the flatsale. This is to avoid problems if something comes up and you are unable to finish coloring stages for pets that are due for growth.

3. Obviously, do not steal the lineart! I paid for it, and you didn't draw it.

BENEFITS:

Payment: Flatsales are 6,000g each; you will receive 5,000g each per Kinekune that you colored. You will receive 75% from auctions, raffles, and customs. You will receive 100% from breedings.

Pets: You can make yourself one adult custom per month. You may keep it for yourself, give it as a gift, or offer it as a pet trade, but you may not sell it. All customs and trades must be approved first and you must be up to date on your assigned work.

HOW TO APPLY:

When you apply, please post the following form in this thread. You must provide:

1. At least two coloring samples using the lineart provided. Feel free to submit more samples if you wish.
2. At least two lineart edits using the lineart provided. I would prefer that at least one is done without using your colored samples (so you'll be coloring three total). Remember that I won't see much of your skills if you only do minor, small edits, so have fun with it! Feel free to submit more samples if you wish.

Important Note: There are no shading templates on the lineart being provided for the hiring thread. This is because I want to see how you would shade the lineart. However! If you are hired, shading templates are already on the lineart, so you will not have to deal with them.

Experience: (How long have you been coloring/drawing? What programs do you work with?) i've been working with Photoshop 5.0 and Corel Photo House for about a year now. Hopefully i'll be updating my photoshop soon cuz its wayyy out of date, however i am able to use PSD formats on it.
Shops you own/have worked in: i dont own any, but i used to work in very very cheap pets.
Shops you currently own/work in: Knights of the Pact (i only do just about a horse a month and its an adult horse... not much work to do there.)
How much time can you commit to the shop?: all my spare time (weekends and after school.)

on the female, the line-art edited ears have the old line drawn on it to show what i did. (the male's tail doesnt have the original cuz it would have covered the design)

STAGES:

These are all the breeds and stages that will be offered in the shop. The examples were colored by me, and lineart is by Air Song. At some point in time, after the shop is opened for a little bit, I want to try and commission anthros of all the versions... plus another special, secret stage!
