Soft and fluffy. Playful. Always content. Ai Ai Yuki are suprising and curious animals that were just recently discovered in their native waters north of our shop's docks. Waters... you ask? That's right! Much like their otter cousins, Ai Ai Yuki are marine mammals which in the wild are born in the deep blue where they remain for the rest of their lives. However they do extremely well on land, and have very much taken a liking to meeting new and different kinds of playmates.

Ai Ai Yuki are sweet little creatures that just love to swim, cuddle, and play, as well as sleep too. They spend most of their time as infants just sleeping away the hours in their furry nappy sacks. Actually, they spend most of their whole lives just resting their cute little furry faces and sleeping away their time. Like their otter cousins, they're very intelligent and content creatures, and very crafty. They were discovered more towards the shallow waters of the main land, and are usually seen sneaking on land to steal away items mostly larger than themselves. For what? Who knows!


Ai Ai Yuki Stages of Life



1. Pearl Stage - Ai Ai Yuki are born into this hard protective shell where they stay for 5 day before hatching into infants.
2. Infant Stage - During this stage of an Ai Ai Yuki's life they are the most sleepiest, but most vulnerable too. Once they hatch, they're almost only aware of their ability to snuggle up in their nappy sack and sleep, and they really need their owners care and supervison to make sure that they're safe and well protected. This stage lasts 5 days.
3. Child/Teen Stage - This stage is the most fun for an Ai Ai Yuki's owner, and an Ai Ai Yuki too, as they seem to be full of just pure mischief and play. They also begin exploring around these stages, as they become curious about almost everything. Once they reach this stage you may find some of your things missing or out of place, as they love having you play hide and seek with them. This stage lasts 5 days.
4. Adult Stage - The adult is the final stage for both male and female Ai Ai Yuki. When they reach this stage they can find a life mate and have their own little Ai Ai Yuki!


Note on Aging schedules!: The given time between stages is only a rough sketch of when you can expect your Ai Ai Yuki to grow. The shop owners do have very busy lives, so don't be upset if your ball of joy of a weasle doesn't change when you expect it to. We will get to it as soon as our real schedules allow us to!

For 10000g (5000g from each owner, or 10000g from an owner if breeding two of his/her Ai Ai Yukis) mates can begin their own family through breeding. Only one mate per Ai Ai Yuki, as they're very loyal creatures.

If you would like to have two pets bred, post the names of the two mates, as well as the owners followed by a post of approval from the second owner, if more than one owner are involved. Then pay for your purchase. Once it's paid for we'll reserve a slot for your Ai Ai Yukis. It takes up to 5 days for the pearls to develop, and once they do the litter will be previewed here so that the owners can decide upon which they'd like to have. Pets not chosen will be available BELOW to adopt. Each pearl is an extra 2500g to buy. Litter size varies.


Role Playing is not necessary for breeding!

Ai Ai Yuki pets that are bought (either from flatsale or purchased through custom order), won (by auction or raffle), or are simply growing into their next stage of life will appear here around the time they're due, and as soon as the shop owner's can manage. So look out for them!

*Note: To enjoy all the benefits of this shop, you may direct link ONLY until your pet is an adult. Once your pet reaches the adult stage, protect your pet from becoming lost by saving and uploading your pet's picture to your own image host within 3 days once they've grown!

Pets and Purchases!

Q. How do I buy one?
A. Please read the "How Can I Get One" post for information on availability as well as custom orders.
Q. How many Ai Ai's can a person own?
A. There's no limit!
Q. What does it mean if an Ai Ai Yuki's discription is highlighted in red during a flatsale?
A. Its colors or markings are either rare or just uncommon.
Q. Can I post for two or more pearls at once during a FS?
A. Yes.
Q. I purchased two pearls, can I have them on the same cert?
A. Sure! If you request so, there can be as many as 2 cubs on one cert. As adults they will NEED their own.
Q. I'd also like to buy one for a friend. Could it be wrapped in a christmas-type gift baggie?
A. Special gift wrapping is NOT available at the moment.
Q. Another question about the one I bought for my friend: Is it okay if my friend picked out it's name?
A. Of course! With any gift purchase we send out the receiver a notice which requests a name for their new pet.
Q. Why isn't my pet grown yet? It was supposed to grow today.
A. As states under the Stages of Life section: The time between stages is merely a rough sketch of when you can expect your pet to grow. This is due to the fact that shop owners have busy lives of their own, and will age your pets whenever time is most convenient for them.
Q. My pet grew, but I don't see any changes/I don't see the pet at all. What's happening?
A. Chances are that the shop owners are still uploading the updated pet, or you need to clear your browser cookies/cache.
Q. My pet hatched as two Ai Ai's, is something wrong with it?
A. Not at all ^^ Your pet has hatched into twins. This is very rare, but is completely normal. Just be sure to name the unexpected twin!
Q. How can I add my pet to my profile?
A. Open your profile page and click on "Edit My Profile" in the upper right hand corner. If you don't already have a place for them, add a custom content box by clicking on "Content" in the lower left hand corner, and select the Custom "Add," then close the Content Menu. A new box called "Content" should have appeared on your page with an "Edit" option - click it. In the first box type in



Breeding

Q. If I mate my pink Ai Ai with my blue one, how will the colors be distributed?
A. Their litter will have pink and blue markings, similar to their parents', of both or one colour.
Q. How many Ai Ai Yuki's are born in a litter?
A. The litter size varies. Ai Ai Yukis can have as many as 2-4 offspring at a time.
Q. My pets are finished breeding. Why do I have to "buy" their pearls when I already paid for the breeding? They came from my pets!
A. The basic fee you pay before breeding does not cover the entire cost of our delivery work, seeing as though we have no idea how many pearls will be in each litter. The price on pearls afterwards cover their own delivery charges. ie. The amount of time and work our artist put into each of them. They may be the offspring of your pets, but they did not materialize out of thin air.
Q. Can I buy all of them?
A. Owners of the parents have first dibs and can purchase all of them, they just have to work out who gets which with the other owner. If there's one owner, he/she can purchase them all as well.
Q. What happens to the pearls I don't purchase?
A. We care for them in the breeding pens until someone offers to adopt them.
Q. Can Siblings mate?
A. No, Ai Ai's must be from two seperate litters in order to be able to breed successfully.
Q. Can two Ai Ai Yukis of the same sex mate?
A. No. >.>

A. Not at the moment, but may have one in the future.
Q. Do you accept pet trades?
A. It depends on the pet for trade.

I'd like to welcome everyone to the new Koanda Yuki! shop. It's new and still improving, but hopefully we'll be off to a good start with making visitors and customers happy.

We're also open to suggestions and comments on the progress of the shop, and will be releasing new accessories for our new pets as well as a doctor on call for whenever your new Koanda Yuki gets sick.
