x.Introduction

Welcome to Bloop! the one and only home of the bouncy critters known as... Bloops.

Bloops are tiny, translucent creatures that could rest comfortably in the palm of an adult human's hand when fully grown. The eggs they hatch from are no bigger than a chubby baby's fist. Your own Bloop will evolve through three stages:

Egg

At this stage, the unborn creatures are very docile. However, you can occassionally see the eggs moving; preparing to hatch a new baby Bloop. The blanket wrapped around the oddly colored egg reveals the critter's gender. Blue for males and pink for females.

Cracked Egg

The shell of your Bloop's egg has begun to crack away, revealing what color he or she will be after becoming an adult. Your new companion has also become more rambunctious. The way its egg shakes makes it obvious that it will be hatching soon.

Adult

Your Bloop has finally hatched. It will begin exploring its habitat and expressing its feelings towards you. Congratulations!

Note: Special eggs will often take longer to hatch.

Bloop!s will express their emotions to you so that you know how they're feeling and how to keep them happy. When they're feeling something particularly strongly, a bubble will pop up to let you know what's going on.

User Image Sleeping Emote - Your Bloop! is currently taking a little nap. He should be up and running soon.

User Image Sad Emote - Your Bloop! is sad about something. Perhaps it's time for a new toy or a friend?

User Image Mad Emote - If there's another Bloop! in the habitat, they're probably just having a little scuffle. Of course, the Bloop! might be showing its anger towards being neglected or someting new you've added to the house. But don't worry, he/she'll get over it in time.

User Image Love Emote - This could mean a wide variety of things. Either your Bloop! enjoys something you've given him/her, or perhaps you're just a fabulous owner and your critters is showing his/her adoration. If two Bloop!s in the same habitat each have one of these, it probably means that that Love Potion worked.

User Image Food Emote - This means your companion's hungry. Time to buy some snacks. *All food items will disappear from the inventory after being eaten.

User Image Sick Emote - Well, your Bloop! has gotten sick for some reason. This usually only occurs if it hasn't been taken care of properly (i.e. being fed when the Food Emote appears). Not to worry though, usually it's only a cold. Any sickness can be cured by purchasing a medicine vile.

To reiterate, Bloops are teensy, translucent creatures. Keep this in mind when buying furniture and accessories to add to your companion's habitat.

06.29.07: I apologize for the delay in updates on the regular Bloop!s. All growths/edits will be updated asap (hopefully sometime this coming week). They will be joined by updated habitats, items, etc. as well as the June donation letter. We're revamping the shop =D so I appreciate the kindness and patience that everyone has shown thus far.

06.22.07: The Pokébloop event is finally up and running. The event thread can be found here. While it will take a short while to get every event up and running, feel free to post and join in wherever you'd like. x3
06.19.07: It's official. The pokémon event will take placeon Friday, June 22nd. The events scheduled thus far include Bingo, a Dice game, Raffles, Auctions and, of course, a Bumping Contest. We hope to see you there!
06.13.07: Unfortunately, earlier this week, I discovered that I would be heading to Cincinnatti, Ohio tomorrow afternoon. I will only be there from about 5pm tomorrow evening until early Friday morning, yet I'm supposed to go to my dad's house this weekend. I had planned on hosting the event from my dad's laptop. However, with so many things going on this evening in preparation for our short trip, as well as the fact that I will be incapable of working on the 'pokébloops' at all tomorrow/Friday morning as I had planned, I'm without an extra 30 or so hours, the majority of which I was going to spend putting the finishing touches on the events. Thus, I've sadly decided that the best thing to do would be to postpone everything until Friday, June 22nd. Depending on my work schedule next week (which I will find out on Sunday) I may be able to hold everything earlier in the week. I will do my best to post a message Sunday evening to confirm when the pokémon event will (for sure) take place.

I apologize for any inconveniences.
06.09.07: Our next event will be Pokémon-themed. =D Yeah, we're hopping on the band wagon. x3 We will have a number of events including Auctions, Raffles, Dice-games, and Bingo. The event is scheduled to begin Friday, June 15th. We hope to see you there!
05.30.07: The donation letters for May '07 have officially opened. =] If you were the recipient of a letter this month, please feel free to post your choice in the thread or enclosed within a PM to me, Satin Doilee. Letters may be purchased for the regular 500g until June 1st.
05.13.07: First off, Happy Mother's Day to any of you who might happen to be mothers. Lots of new items have been added, although I'm still working on updating everything. All of the events are officially over. Congratulations to those of you who now own your own Bloop!. =D New events are being planned and will be announced soon.
05.10.07: Unfortunately, due to my inability to be online with adequate amount of time to end both the Auction and the Raffle tomorrow, the ending dates for both events have been pushed back to Saturday. As of now, the Flatsale will still take place on Saturday as planned.

04.23.06: Wow... it's been so long since I've been this close to a computer, let alone used one for anything other than schoolwork. e.e; Last night was closing night for our school's spring musical, Fiddler on the Roof. It was an amazing production... but being so, has taken up the last two weeks of my life. On top of that I had a term paper to complete, the final copy of which is due this Thursday, not to mention a seven minute monologue to deliver to my teacher in Spanish which I had to somehow find time for between rehearsals and shows. xD;; I'm glad to see so many of you are still around, however. x3 I will do my best to update everything by this weekend... and I plan for another flatsale to follow shortly thereafter.

x.Story

Not too long ago, a large mass of oddly colored eggs were discovered on the coast of an ocean called Talleen. The shells were as hard as rock to the touch and possessed a light, golden-yellow hue. The eggs were no larger than a chubby baby's fist. Despite their hard casings however, the eggs pulsated spontaneously, the lifeforms within them obvious.

Unfortunately, the majority of the discovered eggs had been prematurely cracked during the undoubtedly treacherous journey across the ocean, their brilliantly colored innards dashed across the beach. These strange creatures were unlike anything that had ever been heard of, let alone discovered. Scientists became adamant on discovering just where the odd eggs had come from.

After a long and vigorous search, a trio of islands were discovered, covered in cracked shells and prismatic goop. It was obvious the odd, blob-like creatures had created something of a civilization in this place. Remains of wooden structures could be found amongst the charred remains. Each of the islands had been utterly and completely destroyed; burned to the ground by an unknown force.

Adult Bloops were found, all of them dead. However, a good number of the strange eggs were discovered, somehow protected by the village's elders. A small percentage of the eggs were a different color than those originally discovered; bronzey or silver instead of that placid gold. Each of the uncracked shells were taken into custody to be studied. Those that did hatch were put together in hopes of rebuilding this odd, endangered species.

It became quickly obvious that the blobs were intelligent, learning easily how to read and write as humans do. However, they seemed to lack vocal chords, and thus are forced to communicate through expressions and the skills of reading and writing that they now possess.

Now, as the Bloop species again begins to grow, new eggs are occassionally released to be sold to caring homes.

x.Rules

I. No Art Theft- This should be obvious. I realize there are many shops with creatures and items very similar to those in Bloop!. However, I drew every creature and every item you will find here myself and if I happen to find out that you have stolen my work... I will not be happy. Remember, altering my art is considered stealing.

II. No Fighting- If you're having a problem with someone take it to PMs, Instant Messaging, E-mail, wherever, just keep it off my board.

III. No Begging/Whining- A Bloop! is simple in design, yet has many different, detailed actions that take a good deal of time and maintenance. Obviously, because of this, and the fact that I do have a life outside of Gaia, I will not be able to put new critters up for sale every day. So, no begging or whining. You'll get one eventually.

IV. Follow Gaia's Rules- This should be obvious. It's simple. Stick to it.

V. Do Not PM Me About...- Do not send me a PM unless it is something personal. If your Bloop! hasn't grown up in the alotted time, be patient. It will get there. This goes for new items being added to your home or inventory as well. Remember, I'm not on 24/7.

VI. Don't Spam- Bumps and conversation are well appreciated, but please do not spam the thread.


x.FAQ

How do I get a Bloop!?
You can buy them through flatsales, auctions and raffles. If there are none of these currently, then there are none available. Do not ask for one.

How many Bloop!s can I own?
Edit You can have as many as you'd like. There are no more than two Bloop!s to the starter room by itself and one additional Bloop! per added room (bathroom not included) allowed (e.g. If you buy the "outside" extra room, you may have three Bloop!s in your habitat).

Why are these things so expensive?
No, they are not the most elaborate things in the world. However, due to the fact that a Bloop! will continue moving around its home, playing with toys, and interacting with other things you've bought for it even after it has reached its adult stage, it is necessary that you link the image from my server. This, of course, can take up a lot of space, especially since some of the items you buy come with rather elaborate actions.

My Bloop!(s) just had an egg, but I already have the maximum number of Bloop!s in my habitat. What do I do?
The egg may be left in the habitat as long as you'd like. However, it will not advance past the Cracked Egg stage until put in its own home.

Eek! I just saw somebody who stole your art!
There are a lot of similar shops out there. After all, a Bloop! is basically an animated oval with eyes. So, first of all, make sure the art is actually stolen before jumping to conclusions, and then let me know. Do not flame or harass the owner of the other thread. It would probably be better just to let me or if necessary, a moderator, handle it.

Can I sell my eggs or give them to a friend?
No and yes. Selling the eggs would be considered art theft. However, if you wish to give them away, that's fine. Just be sure to let me know so that I can change the name on the certificate.

How many rooms can I add on to my Bloop!'s habitat?
As many as you want! However, if you want the image in your signature, be conscious of Gaia's 500x500 pixel limit.

There are default eyes for Bloop!s. Of course, there are other options you can choose from to be the default eyes of your own personal Bloop!. D indicates the original default.

Mouths

By default, Bloop!s will have no mouth. Of course, a simple expression may appear depending on their mood, such as a smile. However, feel free to choose a mouth to be your own personal Bloop!'s default.

Habitat
User Image

1. The heart represents your Bloop!'s gender. Pink for females and blue for males. If you have two Bloop!s in the habitat, there will be two hearts set in order according to the names.

2. Your Bloop!'s name and date of birth go in this box, along with your username.

3. Each Bloop! will come with this generic room.

4. This is your Bloop!'s inventory. Furniture will be placed directly into rooms. However, food items, toys, etc. will be placed in this box.

5. Extra Room - Bathroom.

6. Extra Generic Room. This extra room will first be added as a second story. After that, rooms will simply be added on to the right or left.

7. Extra Room - Outside. The outside is slightly more expensive because seasons will change as well as weather along with the detailed actions for whatever items you happen to buy.

x.Breeding

Rules

» You may breed two of your own Bloop!s, or you may breed one of yours with somebody else's.
» Males can only breed with females and vis versa.
» Obviously, the Bloop!s must both be adults.
» Breeding costs 2k.
» If you wish to take the RPing approach, roleplay your Bloop!s and, once you are finished, send me a link to the thread. There must be some obvious character as well as relationship development. If I do not see enough, I will ask that you continue the RP or begin a new one from where you left off as to build more of a foundation.
» If you wish to use the Love Potion, the potion's cost is not included in the breeding price. For two separate owners wishing to breed their Bloop!s together using this method, each one must possess a Love Potion.
» Do not request breeding unless a slot is open. There are three rooms to choose from.
» Bloop!s may move in with one another if you wish. Make sure both parties agree. You will need to decide which habitat you will be using. If you wish to change wallpaper, etc. it will cost the same as buying that room again.
» If you breed to of your own Bloop!s or two Bloop!s move in together, one egg will be produced... except on the rare occassion of twins. If two Bloop!s breed together but stay in their own habitat, you will recieve twins, one egg going to each owner.

x.Sales Info

1. Only post orders when there are open slots, once you've claimed an egg at a flatsale, or after you've been declared the winner at an auction or raffle.
2. Send the trade immediately after you've posted the completed order form in the thread.
3. Trades will be accepted once you've recieved your Bloop!.

Flatsales

Flatsales will occur occassionally and are likely the easiest way to get your own Bloop!.
1. Do not complain if you do not get a Bloop!. There will be other chances.
2. Regular Flatsale Bloop!s will run for 2.5k.
3. Special Flatsale Bloop!s will run for 3k.
4. Be sure to send the trade immediately after you have been announced as the winner of your Bloop!.
5. Go will be posted in bold red.
6. Only orders/claims posted on the thread will be legitimate.
7. If I have not recieved a trade 24 hours after the end of the Flatsale, that Bloop! will be put back up for sale.
8. Flatsale announcements will be posted in red.

Auctions
1. Once again, do not complain.
2. Only bid what you have.
3. No 'sniping'. If a bid is placed within the last 5 minutes of the Auction, the Auction will be extended for another 10 minutes.
4. Pure gold bids are preferred, however, if you must use items, go by mid-ZERG prices.
5. If I have not recieved a trade 24 hours after the end of an Auction, the Bloop! will go to the second highest bidder.
6. Auction announcements will be posted in blue.

Raffles
1. You may buy as many tickets as you'd like for any number of raffle items.
2. Tickets cost 100g apiece. Simply send a trade to Satin Doilee titled with the raffle's name and containing the appropriate amount of money for the number of tickets you are purchasing (i.e. 5 tickets = 500g).
3. All ticket numbers will be put into a bowl and a drawing will occur for each item to be raffled.
4. If I have not recieved a trade 24 hours after the end of a Raffle, the item will be drawn for again.
5. Raffle announcements will be posted in green.

Donation Letters
» A donation letter will arrive monthly. For every 500g you donate to the shop, you will recieve a letter. Each letter will contain two special items for your Bloop! to wear, play with, or put into its habitat. You may select one item per letter.
» End up with more than you wanted? Feel free to sell the letters as well... just make sure all transactions are worked out within this thread (after all, I'll be the one making the updates). After an item has been selected from a letter, neither the chosen item nor the letter may be resold.
» Or, feel free to sell the letter back to Satin Doilee for 50% of the original value. Of course, keep in mind that the letters are supposed to be both rewards and thank you's for donating.
» You may buy items from previous letters simply by sending in a trade with the subject being the item name. The price for previous items will be an extra 500g per month since it has been out.
» Letters will remain sealed until the end of the month.
» Please post which item you want in the thread or within a PM sent to Satin Doilee. Obviously, you may choose as many items as you have letters.
