This is a journal for PirateElf to use as she coaxes her Fenthry out of its feather and has lots of fun adventures with it.

Rioko
It looks like all the excitement of getting a new sister, not to mention all the interaction with other fenthries, have done a lot for Rioko. He's grown up! The violet-gray fenthry now stands at almost seven inches in height, and it seems he's becoming quite close to some of the other fenthries he meets regularly at the shop.


Sakura
The dark feather wrenches away from PirateElf's hands, flying up toward the sky before spiraling rapidly toward the ground. There is a bright flash and a night black fenthry tumbles gently out of the air. There is a band of creamy white on each upper arm, giving her the appearance of wearing long black gloves.

Since I have no room anywhere esle...I'm going to also put a list of people Rioko and Sakura have met.

Rioko has met:

Kurenai ~ Rioko is in love with her. They've known each other since they were very small and almost unable to talk. And they have gone on some preety whacky adventures. o.O
Sage ~ Rioko and him have fought, and played together. It all really depends on their mood.
Freya ~ The cute little Fen who gave Rioko his miniature katana set. She may have a crush on him. ^^
Kagei ~ He has met him briefly, seen him around the shop a few times. They talked a little when they were small.
Raidon ~ One of Rioko's closest friends! He looks up to Rioko, and Rioko thinks of him as a little brother. They like the sames things so get along very well.
Skyfire ~ She hath returned!^^ And Rioko got to teach her how to use a skateboard a little!
Koe ~ He's definately known Koe. Koe is Kurenai's little brother. He is very shy so Rioko doesn't get to talk to him much.
Naomi ~ This long haired Fen is a good friend to Rioko. When they first met she stood up for him. Rioko looks at her like a replacement for Sakura.
Lilia ~ Often at the shop with her guardian Ruriko. Riko sees her a lot but has really talked to her much.
Miesha ~ A cute little Fenthry that has helped Rioko before. She doesn't like when others fight and she usualy tres to talk them into not fighting.
Nightstar ~ Skyfire's brother. Rioko likes him especially because he doesn't remind him of Sakura.

Sakura has met:

Maine ~ The only person Sakura can stand to be around. They seem to tolerate each other to a certain level. Normally everyone runs from Sakura, but Maine was the first to stand up to her.
Kurenai ~ Kurenai keeps trying to be her friend. But Sakura just keeps turning her down...rudely.
Koe ~ He has tried to help Sakura on more than one occation, but Sakura doesn't like being around others and she even tried to kill him before.
Maya ~ As soon as Sakura met Maya she pulled a knife on her, which made Marushii very angry.
Raidon ~ Raidon despises Sakura. He tried being nice to her twice, but after she hurt Rioko, it angered him too far.
Freya ~ Has interest in why Sakura acts the way she does. But Sakura doesn't want to talk to her.
Hagane ~ Tried to become Sakura's friend, only to be ignored by Sakura's heartless reactions.

My First Day With Rioko
6-18-04


I can not believe this! I finally found the perfect pet for me! I've never had a pet before so I'm very excited and proud to recieve Rioko! My new Fenthry!

I strapped Rioko's feather tightly to this journal when I'm not using it. Right now I'm holding him against the next page so he doesn't blow away. I walked deep into the forest just to write this. I feel it has to be calm for Rioko while he's still a little feather. I'll hang out here fo the night and then visit the shop in the morning.

Louhi is a great women. I'm really glad she let me have Rioko. It means a lot ot me since he will be the first pet I've ever owned. So thanks, Louhi....wherever you are. smile

Well, I'm getting pretty weary now so I guess I'll be off to bed. The sun has pretty much set...I've been admiring my new Fenthry for a quite a while. I can't wait to see what he emerges to be. I'm so eager I can hardly stand it! Until tomorrow then. ^^

Rioko's First Flight ^^
6-19-04

Oh! when I was getting ready to sleep last night out in the woods I set Rioko's feather on a log, just for a second. I was getting my pillow and thought I could just place him there for a little, until I tied him back to his journal. When suddenly! This gust of winds sends him flying up in the air! I screamed and ran after him! I jumped up and grabbed his feather, holding him my hands worried sick. It turns out...I could feel that he wasn't scared at all.

I bet he will be a brave little Fentrhy when he emerges from his feather. It seems he doesn't like the light that much. Is that normal? I thought it would be nice for him to get some sun so I sat down in the sun with him to write in his journal. He started flinching or...something. It was weird. He likes the night, though. I can sense that he's happiest around midnight. How peculiar....

I don't mind if he likes the night more than the day. I do myself, actually. The night is more peaceful....when everything is sleeping. Maybe he feels the same way. I'll have to ask Louhi about it.

3rd Day's a Charm!
6-20-04

Today is my third day with Rioko! I'm hoping like most Fenthry's that he'll become a child! Most of the one's I've seen have emerged after only 3 days so I'll keep praying. ^^

FlameFire123 finally got a Fenthry, yay! And so did Twizzler and Jedah! I think they'll all be happy with their Fenthrys. I know I am. Me and Rioko are going down to Hopewell Park today for Father's Day. I'm gonna take him into the creek to catch some salamander's with my little sis. We'll feed the ducks too and find a bunch of goose feather's for Rioko's bed, teeheehee.

Once Rioko emerges I'm going to show him one of the best pleasures in life...I like to call it...the Xbox xd . I'm gonna show him my two favorite games in the whole world! Halo and Dynasty Warriors 4! I hope that Rioko will like video games because I'm a gamer! He he he!

Well, I write about our adventures with salamander hunting once I get back from the park. I think Rioko will enjoy it, other than his hatred of sunlight. Hmm...still wondering about that one. Oh well...everyone's different right? See ya later!

Adventures at Hopewell Park
6-21-04

Oh my gosh! The wierdest thing happened yesterday at the park! I took Rioko along to Hopewell Park for a Father's Day family reunion. It's a park by the woods with a long creek and a lake in the middle. There are a lot of ducks and geese, too. Me and Rioko found some goose feathers for him and took them home with us.

But the most exciting part was when we were in the creek catching crawfish and salamanders! We slowly wondered far back into to the woods, far enough that we couldn't hear the voices of all the kids on the playground. Rioko seemed very bold that day so we went just a little further. A man came up to me with his two small children. He also had and older daughter about 16 who was scared of being wet. She was one of those Aahhh-I-broke-my-fingernail kinda girls.

Anyway, the younger girl and boy wanted to see me catch a crawfish. I think Rioko was a bit shy because he didn't seem to like the company. But the little kids were so cute so I told him it would only be a little while. He soon was amused by the children so he got used to them.

The family and I were far back in the woods down in a creek catching crawfish and salamanders, meanwhile my entire family at the reunion were out looking for me. Rioko didn't seem to mind the sun this day and enjoyed the salamander hunting. Back at the park, my mom was calling the police to help find me and there were search parties of people out looking for me.

Rioko fell off my hat and had a splash in the water. I don't think he liked that experience. I laughed but he was chilled so I stuck him tigher to my hat. After catching a rather large crawfish inside a net I looked up to see my brother running towards me. He's like "Desiree?! Where have you been?! Everyone at the reunion are looking for you! Mom's crying and she called the police who are searching for you too!"

Rioko was scared but he didn't quite understand. We said good bye to the family I was with and started our walk back to the pavilion. My grandma's on my father's side was the first to spot us and cried out, "There's Desiree! She's with Travis!" All my family...and the police...came running towards me all happy and everything. It made Rioko very uncomfortable so after a while of my aunt's and uncles and cousins being overjoyed I kinda pushed away from the crowd.

Luckily, I didn't get in any trouble and my mom was just glad I wasn't hurt or anything. It's nice to know that so many people care about you. Including you, Oki. smile

Rioko's a Child!
6-22-04

I can't believe it! Rioko is finally a child! Yes! Yes! Yes! Oh I'm so happy! He's adorable! I love the pattern on his wings! It just makes me even gladder that I bought his feather when I had the chance.

Here's how it happened! I fell asleep against a log talking to his feather. I felt this sharp pain in my finger and jumped up, knocking Rioko off me. I looked down and there he was! I picked him up and was almost crying I was so happy! ...then...he bit me again. It doesn't really hurt that much but just the thought of biting is pretty rude, teeheehee. I'll teach him not to bite.

Anyway, I walked up to the store where Yeu was. Her little Arashi had emerged from his feather too! He's just as cute as Rioko. Fenthry's are just that good! Hehe, we talked for a while about their behaviour. Arashi is real sleepy and Rioko bites a lot... I think they'll grow out of it though. Then we started chatting about the bestest game series, Dynasty Warriors! I like Lu Bu the best, Yeu likes Zhao Yun!

I hear that a special feather is being auctioned...if I'm allowed I'm gonna try and get it for my best friend, Sindarin. She's been begging me to get her one because she doesn't have any money. Hopefully I'll be able to get her one.

Well, I'm off to play with Rioko! Later!

Movie Making-The Attack of The cats
6-24-04

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I wasn't able to get on the internet. Yesterday me and Rioko went for a walk in the woods. He fell asleep on my shoulder under the shade of my hair. Besides that the day was pretty normal. I think Rioko is starting to ease up a bit.

But anyway, today was fun! At about 4 AM my friend Amanda, Rioko, and I were making a movie with her video camera. It was some stupid thing that we were just goufing around in. Most of the time Rioko sat on top of the camera and pressed the record and standby button when we told him. Then Amanda did the camera and Rioko just sat on the couch staring at the lense. Amanda was doing...whatever she was doing with a bunch of freak masks and belts.

Once we got bored with making a movie we just went around the house with the Camera filming us doing stupid things. Rioko fell asleep in my friend's room. While we went out to film I told Amanda to shut her bedroom door so her cats couldn't get in where Rioko was. She had two, Snickers and Nestle. Amanda just shut the door, not knowing it didn't make the little click noise.

Unfurtunatly for us we soon discovered her cats could push open doors. We were filming in the livingroom when all the sudden we hear a loud screech from one of Amanda's cats, Snickers. We both jumped up, Amanda still holding the camera and keeping it on REC. I rushed into the room which was now a mess from Snickers jumping around after Rioko. Rioko was making angry yelps towards the cat below, that is until Snickers found a way to get on the dresser with him. He jumped into the air, Snickers swatted him down, and I caught him as he fell.

Amanda turned off the camera after fimling it all and grabbed Snickers, tossing her out of the room and slamming the door. She was like "Sorry, Pirate! Is he hurt?!" Luckily he was just shaken a little and quicky recovered from the incident. We were pretty mad at Snickers for a little...but at least it turned out to be a pretty funny once we watched it. smile

Quick Update on the Trip!
6-25-04


Well, I don't have time to write very long. Me and Rioko are going with my best friend Amanda to Deep Creek, Maryland for the weekend. Which basically means I won't be able to update my journal for a few days because the hotel doesn't have public internet connection (or whatever). But at least I'll have more time to spend with Rioko and Amanda. I've been rushing around and working a lot this summer.

Oki wasn't to interested in the idea of going to Maryland but I think the bite of the honey cake I gave him changed his mind. He seems to like honey a lot. I gave him a little bag to put his toys in. His favorites are his plastic action figure sword, bouncy ball, and a shiny little stone I gave him.

Hopefully we can leave before noon. I think they either said to walk over at noon...or to walk over a little afternoon. Hmmm....oh well. I have to go take a shower, my brother Travis is teaching Rioko how to use an Xbox controller...he he he.

Vacation Ends, Disaster sets in
6-29-04

OMG WE HAD SO MUCH FUN ON VACATION! We climbed mountains! Watched motocross! Got autographs from the winners! Had food fights! Wondered around the hotel at 3 AM! Went Go-kart racing! Played DDR Extreme! Went to the skate park almost broke my neck! ....regretfully fell down part of a mountain....ahem...

Rioko seemed to like climbing the mountain! I fell running down a steep drop and tumbled down about 15 feet....luckily he flew off and grabbed on to some weeds. I wasn't so lucky. Rioko laughed but soon stopped after noticing the look on my face. It hurt a lot, I could barely walk. We were going up and down a mountain with a load of othe people to watch a dirtbike race, motorcross I think.

We did A WHOLE LOT of stuff but I don't have time to explain cause I have to go to bed soon. Anyway, today I visited the shop. There were some neat fenthry's for sale! I'm still trying to get my friend one but the prices are getting a bit iffy. So I'll wait for the right one at the right price...hopefully the prices won't get higher. Rioko offended Kaen by not wanting to play and got scared to death after Kaen hissed and snapped at him. Oki ran under a dresser and we're still trying to get him out. Kurenai is under there with him, maybe she can get him out. I hope he's okay...

First Rival o_O

Well, Rioko has his first rival. A Shiney silver and pruple Fenthry named Sage. They met last night at the shop. After fighting the other day, Rioko took a liking to Kurenai. I fancy ruby red Fenthry with grey strips on her arms and tail. She's just as cute as Rioko. But anyway, Sage also likes the young female. Rioko and Sage got into a fight. Rioko drew his sword and they almost hrut each other before I scooped him up and scolded him. He also talks a lot now! He was so holding back on me before! But now he loves to talk with his friends and picks up many new words. Sage is still learnign but he's getting better.

Rioko says he's not mad at Sage anymore but I can tell he thinks otherwise. He doesn't like playing with Sage and I can see the anger flare in his eyes. But he's still just a child, they may grow to be friends later on when their older. I hope he doesn't have this grudge for too long...

Of course he's still great friends with Kurenai. I think it's cute that they're fond of each other. Personally I hate love but they're just so adorable it's funny. He doesn't like when I talk about it though...I believe he's embarrased about it. Rioko's convinced that he stopped me from knowing but I still do, teeheehee. Well, it's time for us to take a walk in the woods with our friend Amanda. I'm trying to get him used to the sun....
