This is a journal for Twizzler to use as she coaxes her Fenthries out of their feather and has lots of fun adventures with them.

Please don't post here unless Twizzler has given you permission!

Sage
Helping to care for his new sister, coupled with the care and attention bestowed on him by Twizzler, seem to have had a good impact on Sage's life. He's grown a bit! The metallic silver-gray fenthry now stands at nearly seven inches in height, and his friendships and rivalries with other fenthries are as strong as ever.

Ombre
The dark feather floats gracefully into the air, black barbs shining in the soft light. At the height of its climb, the fenthry seems to hang in place for a moment before falling into a graceful descent. A dim flash of magical light envelops the feather, and it is a four inch tall child that tumbles gently to the floor, not a feather. Her dark gray, nearly black fur seems to swallow the light, but her deep violet hair reflects it in soft amethyst.

Twizzler laid on her back upon her bed with her knees drawn up, a purple and silver feather between her fingers as she gently rolled it between forefinger and thumb, watching the fine hairs of the feather shiver with delight and sway ever so slightly with the created wind of gentle twirling. She smiled as the feather shivered again, then stuck it behind her ear and flipped onto her stomach where an open book lay. With that, Twizzler had picked up a caligraphy pen and begun to scribble something down upon the parchment pages.

Dear Journal...

It's my first night with my new Fenthry and already it seems to have taken a liking to me, of course, it's too hard to tell yet from a feather, but I still have yet to find more about these mysterious creatures. How did I come across a Fenthry? I had heard some talk about them in town as I was enjoying my day, stopping in interesting stores when I overheard two ladys talking about a mysterious and rare creature called a Fenthry...

The little feather seemed to shiver again and Twizzler brought a hand up to gently run a finger tip down its spine as a gentle pet, smiling up to it, then begun to write again.

...Well, I finally found the little shop, not too easy mind you, and I met several other Fenthry owners and talked with them while I waited for the case to re-stock. I met several friendly persons...Owyn, Owyln were the first two, and each of them had a Fenthry that was out of its feather form! Owyln's was peach and Owyn's was green. Owyln told me a lot about Fenthrys...for instence. The pastel colored Fenths are more timid and shy then the brightly colored Fenthry who are more bold. Their first stage is a feather...and seeing how these ownersare fairly new, I think my own little Fenthry shall come out of its feather in another two or three days!

Twizzler took this time to lift her feet off the bed and kick a little in the air, taking her hand to gently stroke the silky cool feather. "Sound good so far, Sage?" She asked her feather, feeling its soft bristals brush against her ear which made her giggled. "Heeey...that tickles! Hehe. Hmm.." Twizzler paused for a moment and sat up, lifting her image up to the mirror to examine the feather closely. She stroked her chin in thought, then laid down again and wrote something in a modest cursive.

But if Fenthrys who's colors are light are shy, and Fenthrys who's colors are bright are bold....I wonder what dark Fenthrys are? I have a prediction that I will make before my Fenthry comes out: seeing how Sage's colors are darker, maybe it'll be more michevious and polterguist. If so, then perhaps I have descovered something new! But it's only an off prediction...I still have a lot to learn.

She yawned, a hand covering her mouth to catch it, then wiped her eyes free from tears. The feather shivered again and Twizzler cocked her head. "What is it Sage?" Trying to listen and watching its movements, her eye wandered over to the window and the stars set outside in the night time sky. "Oh! Of course...it's getting late. Hmm..." She looked around for a place to put her feather, then crawled up her bed where a nightstand stood next to and opened the top drawer as she placed a small pillow and peice of velvet inside. "There you go, Sage. I hope this will be okay for now?" She cupped her hands around the cool feather once more and gently placed it upon the pillow, giving it a small goodnight kiss. "One more thing.." Twizzler turned back around to finish writting something in her journal.

Sage...I decided to name him that. I don't know why...maybe his colors just reminded me of dark berries and shadows, and Kage was much too trite. I hope Sage doesnt sound too girly, but I thought it'd be aperfect name for him. I think it matches him perfectly. Now it's getting late and I have tucked Sage into an open drawer next to my bed with a pillow and cloth so that I may be near him and keep an eye on 'em. I guess I should record his reactions and such though...So far, my first day with Sage, I couldn't keep my eyes off him. From the moment I saw him in the glass case, I thought I'd get a female, but his colors I loved and I could never part with them. Unlikeregular feather, Fenthrys seem to sway with aliveness as if there were a constant light breeze around it and its unusual coolness. It's almost like a silk feather, soft to the face and cold, not warm but very cool and mild in nature. It seems to listen and watch me and can react with a shiver, but that's really all I've noticed. Perhaps I'll expierement with music tomorrow...Pirate, another store owner, mumbled something about it, so I might try it too. Until tomorrow...

~Twizzler

She finished her journal entry off with a few quick curls of the pen to form her signature, then neatly shut the volume andplaced it on top of the night stand where it could be close to her Fenthry. "I'll be right here if you need me now, okay? Goodnight, Sage."

Dear Journal,

Sage arrived! He finally emerged from his feather! Last night I thought I saw a flash of lightning when it really was the feather turning into a child. I woke up with him on my pillow so I think he found his way to me...I'm just so happy that he knows who I am and knows what his name is. And he's just what I thought he'd turn out as: silver fur, purple hair and wings. But he has the most unique pattern too...around his eyes are black circles and some spots down the middle of his forehead. He has a few black rings around his tail and a neat little wing pattern. I've descovered on the normal type of feather that the color there is most of usually is the fur color and the second most is for the hair or wings or both.

We went to the shop earlier today too and showed him off to everyone. And apparently, Flame's and a few other's Fenthry hatched the same day! I was estimating another day or so before he'd come out...so it was a lovely sight to see how early they all 'hatched'. Sage met Flame's Fenthry, Skyfire, who's fur color was a bright blue with red hair and didn't seem to make friends right away, but in the end, they taught each other new things. Skyfire taught Sage how to -fly-! So now when we go home, he practices through my house his flying skills and rearranges everything in my room. At least he has fun..

Well that's the latest! Can't wait until tomorrow!!

It was a clear blue sky outside today with fluffy white clouds enjoying the warmth of the summer's sun, the wether cool but warm with a light breeze. Twizzler sat in front of a little coy pond in her back yard, flowers and fruits growing around in a garden to the right of the pond, lily pads and a man-made waterfall decorated the pond as the gold and silver fish swam back and forth under the clear water. Her journal sat open beside her but she was currently leaning over the edge, showing Sage and pointing out the fish in the pond to him. She wasn't sure if he could actully 'see', but it didn't matter anyways. She was just happy she had someone always there for her. The Fenthry tickled his barbs against the girl's fingers and she laughed, then finally sat him down beside him out of the sun light so he wouldn't fry.

Such a lovely day out today...I think Sage and I shall stay home today because I'm lazy and besides, there's so much happening right here. I was showing Sage the garden and pointing out the fish in the pond in my back yard. I think he really enjoys it outdoors because of the wind and the freshness of the air around the water too.

Twizzler looked down at Sage and watched him for a moment. The wind blew past as his quills wiggled in the air, the silver hairs shimmering under the sunlight.

Yep...I most definately think he's going to be a flyer...::ink splatters then a big stain as if the pen broke::

Just then the wind had picked up, and little Sage with it. Twizzler gasped and suddenly got to her feet, stepping on her pen and snapping it, then chasing after the feather that was dancing in the wind. "SAGE!" The wind carried the little dark purple and silver feather around the garden as if teasing the young girl who was desperatly trying to swipe it back. Then, it finally landed on the roof of the garage and Twizzler's eyes widened. How am I supposed to get up there?! She lookedto the fence that was close to the roof and the garbage cans beside it...and got an idea. She ran over to the fence and lifted herself up, then swung her legs over to the garbage can lids until she could balance herself on top, then quickly turn around and lift herself onto the roof. On her hands and knees did she climb to the middletop where Sage was, and to her astonishment, was he dancing and swaying without the breeze. "Sage! Are you alright?" She quickly grabbed the feather before another burst of wind blew by and sheltered him to her chest. Quickly but steadily, she climbed back down, then walked shakily backto her journal and fell to the ground with an 'oomph'. She picked up her broken pen and mumbled, then reached in her pocket for a spare and begun to write with a shaky hand, Sage still tucked to her closely.

Wow that was a fright. I almost lost my Fenthry in the wind! So light...as a feather! He ended up on the roof of the garage but by the time I could reach him, he seemed to have had fun the whole time. But anyways. I've been sketching pictures of him and diagrams in the back of my journal like a sketch book. Right now, I'mtrying to figure out his color pattern from studying the other's feathers and Fenthrys. I have a guess, but I rather not say yet. And besides, surprises are the best! I think I should take Sage inside now though...I nearly just had a heart attack!

It was earlyin the morning, 5 am to be exact, when a glowing light flashed from Twizzler's night stand drawer and gleamed in the window and hit the lids of her sleeping eyes. She stirred and sat up rather quickly rubbing her eyes. What was that?! Was that lightning...? She looked around the room, then with a tired grunt, she fell back down onto pillow and went back to sleep.

It was about 7:30 am when the sun crept forth to the sliding glass doors, casting its long golden glow over the bed to great the waking girl. Twizzler yawned and rolled over onto her side, then rubbed her face and slowly satup. "Good morning Sage..." She said through another yawn, then leaned over to gather her feather. But when she looked inside the drawer, the feather was gone! Her heart raced and her mouth dropped, then started frantically looking around the bed and night stand area. "Sage! Sage?! Where are you??!" Just then she heard a tiny squeak like a bat behind her, and looking down upon her pillow was a silvery fur colored child with mahongany hair and wings sitting there, staring up at her. It squeaked again and cocked his head. Twizzler gasped and slowly lowered herself down until her chin rested against the pillow and looked at him with excited and loving eyes. "Oh wow...you're so handsome, Sage! Were you there the whole time? I hope I didn't hurt you in the night." She grinned, then watched the infant crawl over to her. Sage stood up, exactly 4 inches tall and looked at her eye. The stared at each other for awhile, then the Fenthry raised his paw ever so slightly...then poked her eye and rolled backwards, snickering. "Ow! Hey!" Twizzler's hands went up to clasp her eye, then smiled and took her other hand to grab the Fenthry up. "Now listen Mr. You better behave...okay?" The Fenthry pouted, crossed his arms and sat in her palm, looking away. Twizzler only knew better that he'd be stubborn. "Well then, well just have to teach you some manners. Until then, are you hungry?" She poked Sage in the side with her finger tip lightly and he flailed, then grabbed her finger and clung around it, nodding with a hungry gleam in his eyes. He then nuzzled his owner's finger and purred affectionatly, obviously sucking up, but also inan apologetic manner. Twizzler wanted to melt right there, but she grinned and placedafinger to his hair and ruffled it. "Alrighty then...what would you like? Oh wow...I have no idea what Fenthrys eat...oh well! Lets go find whatever you like!" Then she carried him carefully into the kitchen. Her new Fenthry had arrived at last.

Dear Journal...

Today we went to the shop again and I saw Owyln and Molly back but I think they had to go pretty fast, so we didn't get to chat. D-Chan and Flame were also there, like always, with their Fenthries. Sage and Skyfire seemed to be pretty goodfriends until Kure showed up. I think Sage really likes Kure too, but Skyfiregotreally jealous and upset with Sage...he just doesn't realize it.

It was the same asever when we went home: Sage zipping around the house scaring my parents from the littlebat noises he makes. He likes the dark a lot too...it's crazy when I try to go to bed at night.

New feathers! Louhi brought in three new strange looking feathers...the pink male with a black scorpion will be very popular. Then there's a rather plain looking purple and yellow feather, and the last is another femalewith pink, white, and black on her. I can't wait to see how they turn out! I really would have liked to get the last female feather, but I want to wait for one of those auctions. I want one of those really rare feathers...one of a kind. And a female one! As long as it's pretty and female, I'm going to get it. I'm saving up too and soon...Sage will have a new friend!

Flame and I were talking about Fenthry breeding for a little bit. I told her that I wanted to be a Fenthry breeder, but she said they were too intelligant for that...but whoever said they -wernt- intelligent? It'd just be for getting new breeds and keeping the Fenthry race from extinction...besides, it'd be really exciting! Who wouldn't want to wait to cross two different Fenthries to get a different one with their characteristics? Of course they'd have to be willing and at their adult stage. Flame said I should be a Fenthry teacher...I think she meant for training the Fenthries how to behave and to speak and stuff. But I rather be a breeder...it's much more thrilling.

Sage suddenly landed on the page on all fours and smeared some of the ink on his foot, trying to shake it off, then shook his head and looked up at Twizzler. His wings fluttered and cocked his head with a little murmur, then zipped up to the girl's shoulder and tugged on her hair. He made little funny sounds and crawled around her neck, causing Twizzler to laugh and try to calm him down, but he instantly ran from her hand and appeared on her other shoulder. He was extremley jittery and manuvered in the air just like a draonfly. "Fly...hehe," She thought aloud. "A silly little nickname for you, yes," Twiz said as she grinned and watched Sage affectionately since he wouldnt stay still long enough to be petted. Twizzler soon shut her heavy leather journal, then swiped at Sage as his quick reflexes brought him back into the air, just in time to escape her hand. "Here I come!" She growled playfully and ran after the little fuzzy dragonfly.

Dear Journal,

Well today has been very much eventful...x.x Sage and I were at the shop today and all my friends seemed to have flocked in the evening with their Fenthries. It was soo cute too...Rioko, Pirate's Fenthry, started this little game where he was the night, Kure was the maiden, and Kean as the dragon. Sage was invited over by Skyfire but Rioko got jealous fast and started showing of to Kure...so then Sage got mad and jealous that everyone else knoew how to talk except him. He eventually threw a tantrum and flew into my pocket. But Skyfire still likes Sage...which is good. I think they'd make a cute couple and I just hope Sage canl et Rioko take Kure...or all of them can mix and match.

I eventually took Sage home after Skyfire helped him learn a few words, then we practiced together until he found it fun mocking me and I think he picked up more words. We'll just have to see tomorrow. ^-^
