Robin

Time Travellers

Chapter One: - The Start of it all.

Excerpt from the biography of Robin Smithson.

“It was the year 2022, on the planet of Earth. That was a great year for me. That was the year I died. But, it was also the year that I discovered my true meaning in this life. I became a Time Traveller. But I won’t tell you about that yet, when you start a story, you don’t start at the middle, or the end, you start at the beginner, that is right and proper. So let us begin, at the beginning.”

A man wearing a tuxedo stumbled out of a building. He tripped and hit the ground quite hard, rolled over and stood up. He looked up at the dark sky and the stars twinkling. He sighed deeply and started to walk off. When a woman ran out of the building and called to him. “Robert! Wait!” Robert stopped and turned around.
“What is it Sarah?” Said Robert.
“I am sure next time that they will agree.” She said boldly. Robert frowned, and Sarah blushed, embarrassed for speaking about what had just happened.
“Look, you are so close to finishing that project, why won’t they agree?” said Sarah.
“Because they told me, anything that tries to get out of our solar system, our galaxy dies. So why should my idea work.” Said Robert, showing his disappointment. He sighed again. And crossed his arms. “Plus, the fact is, I am a twenty-nine year old man, who hasn’t had enough experience, or been able to get a finite job his whole life.”
This time it was Sarah who folded her arms, she then ran up to him and said “Well, let’s give the experiment one last try. Then we will scrap the idea.” The pair started walking down the road towards the car park.
“Okay, but you must promise me, if it fails, we never try anything like it again.” Said Robert.
Sarah then frowned, “Fine, but how are we going to get to the lab? I got here by cab?”
“We can use my car.” Said Robert pointing out a silver Rav-4. He unlocked it using the keypad and hopped into the drivers’ seat. Sarah sat down next to him.
“Why do you still drive one of these old things?” Sarah said to him as she buckled her seatbelt.
“Hey, it gets me from A to B.” Robert started the car up and turned out of the car park. Robert then turned onto the main road and waved goodbye to the building that had failed him. As they drove past it, they read the sign. “National Australian Laboratory.”
“I am so tempted to write something on that sign, I can’t believe they refused me. I even wore my best suit. And I did up my hair.” Robert ran his hand through his sandy coloured hair. “And I mean, look at you Sarah, you look stunning.” Sarah blushed. “All I did was put on a green dress, and some make up.” Said Sarah modestly.
“Yeah, but you look better than most of those women in that lab.” Said Robert. The two lapsed into silence. Streetlights glowed over head. Robert turned on the indicator, and turned left into a building. The building had a wire fence around the perimeter, and was heavily guarded by security systems. The gate opened as the car approached. Robert turned and parked it next to the door. HE then took an I.D. card connected to a cord around his neck and swiped it through the reader at the door, he then entered four numbers. And it made a ping sound and the door opened. The pair went down a dark corridor and entered a door with the number thirteen above it.
“You know Sarah, I always wondered it we were unlucky because we got room number thirteen.” Said Robert with a smile. Sarah laughed and followed him into the room.
In the room books were everywhere, books about history, about religion, books about Egypt, countries, subjects which were so complex, most people can’t even understand the title. But, the only place that wasn’t cluttered was a desk, and on top of that desk was a box, a box made of glass. Inside this box was a normal watch. It was black, had a square face, about four cm each side, had a screen in the middle, and three buttons sticking out, two one the right side, one of the left, the four button wasn’t sticking out, but it was on the left side. The time on the face read “11:58pm; 31/08/22; Wednesday”
Robert opened the box, put the watch on, the face on the underside of his wrist, so it was next to his palm, and pressed a few buttons. Sarah gave him a hug, which was a bit more than just friendly and stood back. Robert then pressed the screen of the watch. There was a buzzing sound, and then nothing.
“I told you it would never work.” Said Robert. “Humans will never Time Travel! You cannot go forward or back in time!” He picked up a book from a chair and threw it away, it hit a pile of books and they crashed to the floor, Robert sat down and put his face in his hands.
“Look, try it again, just for me.” Begged Sarah. “Just one more time. That’s all.”
“Fine, one more time. Then we destroy it.” Said Robert.
“Agreed” Said Sarah. Robert loosened his tie and placed it on his shoulder.
Robert pressed some of the buttons on the watch, in a random order. And then tapped the screen. There was a buzzing sound, and then, nothing, the watched beeped, and Robert looked down. It now read “12:00am; 01/09/22; Thursday”
Robert smiled. “Happy birthday, I just turned thirty.” Then the watch-face turned white, and started to glow, projected from the watch onto the ceiling, in perfect English writing, was numbers, Robert stared for a bit, and then nearly shouted at Sarah “Heck, it’s a countdown.” When the numbers hit zero, the watched stopped glowing and then clicked onto a new screen, this screen read a number and a word, and the word read “Earth”. There was a low buzz, then. Everything went white.
“DAMN!!” yelled Robert.
“Where are we?” asked Sarah. As she turned to Robert. Robert looked around at his surroundings. Everything was a nice cream colour, and a man walked up to the pair with a huge smile.
“Welcome to Heaven, I hope you enjoy your stay, because you’re here for all eternity.”
“We…Died?!” said Sarah.
“Yes, you did” said the angel sympathetically. But the smile didn’t move from his face.
“Okay, I want to have the debate with God” said Robert, this time, the smile did move from the angels face. “You know about that?!”
“Yes I do. I know all the rules, and I also know that you can’t refuse my request.” Said Robert with a grin.
“What are you to talking about?” interrupted Sarah.
“Follow me then.” Said the Angel.
“I will tell we get there.” Said Robert.
Robert and Sarah followed the angel as they walked towards a building, it was built roman style, All white marble, pillars, steps, benches, inside was a man, sitting on a marble bench, and he was conversing with an angel.
“That’s God?!” said Sarah.
“That’s the big guy himself. In all his glory.” Said Robert with a grin. The angel walked into the building and started to talk to God.
“So Robert, what are the rules. And what are they for.” Said Sarah.
“Well, around five hundred years ago, Heaven was becoming full, so God here had an idea, if anyone could beat him in a debate, then he would allow them to go back to earth, as anything they wanted, there were some rules, that applied to the debate. The challenger, can request God, do a max of seven things, the opponent must obey. After that, each being makes a statement, the opponent can either, argue with this, or pass, when the opponent passes, the other being wins. Those are the rules. But, so far, only one man has done this, and he went back to earth and wrote the rules down. The rest failed.” Finished Robert.
Sarah looked scared, “But Robert, you can’t argue with the being that created Earth, he created you.”
“Well, I must give it a try.” Said Robert, “Nothing ventured, nothing gained.”
“Robert, one last thing, what happens if you fail?” queried Sarah.
“Well, then, you just die, your spirit goes, away. And never returns.” Said Robert.
“Oh” said Sarah, “But, can’t we just stay here, least we can still see each other.”
“I want to go back to earth; this will give me a chance.” Robert then turned to face Sarah, his mouth set in a grim smile. The angel walked out to the pair. “He will now see you.”
Robert and Sarah walked into the building. They walked up the stairs, and stood next to the man, God, God look like a normal man, but Robert knew this was not.
“Hello Robert and Sarah. Well, Robert, I am sorry that you want to do this, but, it was your choice, and I cannot make you change your mind. So let’s begin. What are your seven conditions?” said God.
Robert took a breath and began, “One, You transform into a man, this means you lose your powers. Two, if I win, Sarah and I both go back to Earth. Three, Call the devil up here, I want him to watch. Four, can you create a table and chairs for us; I want to sit down also. Five, Bring me a book with the whole history of Earth. Six, can you bring me some food. Seven, at the start of the debate, call you an idiot.” Robert then smiled.
Sarah turned to him, “Just why do you want to insult the most powerful thing in the whole universe?” she said.
“One thing, Sarah.” Said Robert, “He is not.” And then he gestured for her to be quiet.
God did as he requested, and then the debate began. God went to make a point, when Robert interrupted him. “Pardon me God, but, have you forgotten my seventh request?” he said sweetly. God looked at him angrily and then called himself an idiot. Robert laughed loudly. God stood up, his chair clattering to the marble floor.
“How dare you laugh at me! I created the Earth! Curse you Robert! I will send you to Hell!” He then pointed at Robert, but nothing happened. Robert was now smiling widely.
“What?!” said God.
“Well, it’s just that, in all the religions, the higher being, you, in this case; say to everything, you cannot do evil. Because the evil being, in this case the devil.” Said Robert, pointing at the man, dressed in a red cape. Robert then continued, “The devil, or evil being will destroy the lower beings, but, you,” Robert paused and pointed at God, “Have just cursed and tried to destroy me, but, you forgot, my first request, you lose your powers, but then, what you just did, was evil, so, by your own laws. Shouldn’t the devil also destroy you, and if you want more proof, I can point out more things, that you have done wrong, in the whole history of the Earth.” Robert finished and smiled towards Sarah.
“Now God, do you argue, or have you finished, and I have won.” Said Robert.
All around, the building, angels were amazed, God slowly picked up his chair, sat down and faced Robert, “Well done Robert, you win, I pass.” He said sadly. Robert smiled. “Now, Robert, Where do you want to be born, Sorry Sarah, but he cans chose, not you.” Said God, all his glamour gone.
“I don’t want to be born, I want to be alive. Can you put me and Sarah back where we were, last night, at the same time, but instead of us dieing can you make us live for an extra two minutes, okay” said Robert.
“Yes, I can do that, do you want the memory of this?” said God.
“Yes, but give it to me after the two minutes, okay. Thank you.” Said Robert.
“Good-bye Robert.” Said God.
“Wait, before we go.” Interrupted Sarah. “What killed us?” she asked.
“An explosion from the laboratory next to you, the scientist that cause it are over there” said God, and he pointed to a group of men in white coats.
Then everything was black.
The buzzing continued, and Sarah and Robert watched the watch, there was a loud bang from the next room. Sarah, startled grabbed onto Robert. The next moment there was a “puff” sound, and where Robert and Sarah had been, there was Roberts tie.

Planet: Earth

“Where are we?” said Robert as they landed on the ground hard. Sarah would have fallen to the ground if she hadn’t been holding onto Robert. Robert looked around. Then, he looked down at his watch, it read the time of “12:01am; Thursday; 01/09/22”
“Well, it still seems to be the same year, but I don’t think we have moved. And if this isn’t Earth then how could we breathe.”
“Okay, aside from that, if this is earth, where are all the people?” said Sarah worriedly.
“Over there, by that city.” Said Robert and pointed, he then started walking.
By time the two got to the city, they had realised that something was different. They both agreed that it seem as if the planet was dead, because there was only silence. No background noise, no sounds of people. Just silence. Robert kept on fiddling around with his watch. Then he looked up.
“Sarah, do you think we have travelled time. Because now that I have got the memories of heaven back, you think, we could have succeeded in travelling in time.” Sarah stopped walking. “But how, and if we did, how do we get back to our time?” she finished.
“That I don’t know. How do you reckon we can figure out what time it is?” said Robert.
“We could ask it” said Sarah for a joke. Robert bent forward and said to the watch “What year is it?” and then Robert laughed. He stopped when a hand tapped him on the shoulder. He froze.
“Turn around” a gruff voice commanded. When the pain turned around the saw a man, he looked normal, but he was taller than both of them. He had a brown handle bar moustache, brown hair and eyes, and he was holding what looked like a cattle prod crossed with a sword. “What are you doing out here, the flight to a new planet is going to leave in around twenty minutes, this place is deserted.”
“May I ask you a question? Well actually more than just one question. What are you? What year is it? Where is this place? And the most important, where is the flight going?” Asked Robert.
Sarah thought this new Robert was much more confident that the Robert that she had known.
“Stop asking questions!!” Yelled the man. “I am a city Guard! This place is The Last City, Planet Earth, Year, one billion and two thousand and twenty-two, and that flight is leaving the planet, and going to an unknown, unpopulated planet. And before you ask why, it is because this planet is dead!” Barked the Guard.
“Okay, now what are you going to do with us?” asked Sarah.
“I am going to get you a house and allow you to stay on Earth until the flight” said the Guard.
“But didn’t you say it was leaving the planet?” asked Robert.
“It is, in eight years. But the king of the world is collecting everybody, from around the whole world. So, I must now send you to the city.” At this The Guard pulled out two circular slips of a grey material. He then slapped one on Robert, and one on Sarah. And then pressed the centre of the circle. Both Robert and Sarah disappeared.

The last City of planet Earth.

Robert reappeared in a house. Sarah reappeared next to him an instant later.
“Now where are we?” asked Sarah. This time Robert didn’t get a chance to answer, the house did for him.
“Welcome, I am your house, model 233453; I hope to make your eight year stay as pleasurably as possible. Would you like something to drink?” said the house.
“A beer would be nice.” Said Robert.
“I am sorry, but the drink Beer does not compute with my drink making capabilities. Please state another drink.” Said the house.
“Can I please have some orange juice?” said Sarah.
“You sure can” said the house eagerly. A second later a box open in another room. Inside this box was a glass of orange juice.
“And what does the male of the pair want?” said the house.
“A glass of wine. Please.” Said Robert.
“That does compute with my skills, here you go” said the house. Another ping, another box, another drink.
“Well, if we are stuck here, I sure will enjoy this time.” Said Robert.
Sarah smiled warmly at him. “Err house, may we please have a tour of this house?” asked Sarah.
“You sure can” said the house warmly. “If you enter the door to your right, you will be in the main bedroom; the room you are in now is the foyer. The room which you got your drinks from is the kitchen, but you don’t need to go there much, I can deliver anything you want straight to you, via the wall system.”
“Thanks house.” Said Robert, he smiled and turned to face Sarah. “I think I will enjoy my stay.”

Eight years later.
Last City of Planet Earth.

Robert enter through the front door, “Hey, Sarah, I am home” he called out. Sarah walked into the room with a little boy in tow.
“How was your day Robert?” asked Sarah.
“Good, can you believe it; we are going to leave earth in two weeks. I can’t wait!” said Robert enthusiastically. He bent down to the little boy.
“And how is my little boy going, have you fixed your daddy’s watch.” He said with a laugh.
Sarah laughed as well. “I still think that you shouldn’t have given that watch to him, what if he gets it to work. It could send him anywhere, or worse kill him.” Said Sarah. Robert straightened up.
“No, it’s just a piece of junk now, but if it did turn on, it wouldn’t send him anywhere, it would only send him anywhen, it doesn’t have teleportation capability, we didn’t have teleportation back in two thousand and two. But now we do, one billion years later.” Said Robert.
He looked down at the little boy whose was tugging on his pants leg.
“What do you want my little Samuel?” asked Godwin to the little boy. Samuel tugged his pants again. Robert bent down. Samuel then held out the watch. It was a bit battered, but it was eight years old, Robert smiled, and took it off Samuel. “Now what do you want me to do Samuel?” asked Robert. Samuel pointed at Robert’s left wrist. Robert smiled again and strapped the watch on. He then looked up at Sarah. “Our little son is very smart” he said. Sarah smiled.
“Now what Samuel?” Queried Robert to his son. Samuel held out his arm, Robert copied, Samuel then tapped his wrist twice, not the top, but the side which had the veins on it. Robert copied.
Then, softly at first, but getting louder, a buzzing sound was heard. Robert looked at his wrist. The words which had stayed on it for eight years, were changing, “Oh no” said Robert. He pulled at the watch but it wouldn’t budge. The words changed from:

Area: prohibited.
Reason: TimeWarp
Galaxy: Milky Way
System: Solar
Planet: Earth
Year: 1,000,002,022
Date: 1st of September
Time: 12:01am
Time System: Earth.

“I will return!” yelled Robert as he disappeared with a “puff”
Sarah flopped down onto the floor and began to cry.

Saria-nay.

In the middle of a barren desert two men and four women stood in a circle. The hot sun beat down on them, but they took no notice, they were focusing on the middle of the circle. They had their hands touching, one of the men, with hazel hair licked his lips, which were dry, and said to the others, “Well, this is it then, the end.” The others nodded in silent agreement. Then a where all their hands connected, a white light began to grow. Then with a puff, Robert appeared and fell to the ground.
“Who is he?” asked one of the men.
“A man named Robert, from the planet which Godwin the Last just created.” Said the Hazel haired man. Robert stopped rolling around in the dirt and stood up.
“Hey, you, over there, what year is it?” called out Robert.
“Why does he want to know what year is it, why not what place this is?” asked a girl.
“He has succeeded in scientific time travel.” Said the man with hazel hair to the other man. Then he spoke louder so that Robert could hear him, “Come closer Robert, It is the year five thousand, and before you ask, this is not earth, this is Saria-nay. I am sorry, but you cannot return to Earth. My name is Nicholas.” Said Nicholas. Robert walked closer to the group, but stopped when he was about a metre away from Nicholas.
“How do you know my name?” asked Robert.
“This guy knows everything, I mean everything.” Said the other man.
Robert looked at his watch, he tapped the face. A hissing sound was heard and a wisp of smoke came out the side.
“Well, now it is officially broken.” Said Robert.
“Is that what he used to scientifically time travel?” asked the second man.
“Yes, that watch is what he used Godwin.” Said Nicholas to the second man. Godwin smirked but said nothing. “Robert come stand next to me.” Called Nicholas. Nicholas gestured for Godwin to come closer, “I want to see his mind, something is blocking my power about his past, I know his future, but I don’t know his past. I need to look into his eyes.” Said Nicholas quietly. By this time, Robert was close enough to Nicholas that he stood next to him. “Robert, don’t be afraid, look into my eyes.” Said Nicholas. Robert looked up, and stared into Nicholas’s hazel eyes, he stared a bit more, when the coloured part of his eyes, swirled into rainbow colours, dancing around the pupil. He was transfixed, and then he was sucked into those eyes. Everything went black; the last thing Robert said was, “Not again.”

Robert opened his eyes to find himself in darkness, as his eyes adjusted to the darkness he saw he was in a vast area. Light began to glow, not from a certain place, but from little globes of light. The lights were dancing around Nicholas, and Nicholas was walking towards him.
“Where am I?” asked Robert.
“In my mind” answered Nicholas.
“What. How?” said Robert.
“Magic” was the answer that Nicholas gave. “Now, tell me about your past.”
“Well, I was born on Earth. In nineteen ninety-two, and when I was thirty I created this thing.” Robert showed Nicholas the watch.
“But this is broken.” Said Nicholas.
“Yeah, I know. I am trying to fix it, it sent me and my wife, a billion years into the future, when everyone was leaving Earth, and then, my son, gave me the watch, some-how fixed, and it sent me here. This place feels familiar, but I haven’t been here.” Said Robert.
“Okay. I need you to look into my eyes” said Nicholas.
“What again?” said Robert looking at Nicholas as if he was crazy.
“Yes, just do it.” Said Nicholas.
Robert stared into Nicholas’s eyes, for the second time. Then something clicked in the back of his mind.
Robert woke up, he was still facing Nicholas, but now he knew who Nicholas was, a mindpower, Godwin, was a hero, he had been a hero also, he created Earth, and he had lived on this planet. His name was Godwin and Robert. His mind swirling he staggered a few steps backwards.
“Who is he Nicholas?” asked Godwin.
“He is the reincarnation of Godwin the Last, and he knows his past life.” Said Nicholas.
“Yes, I do, Godwin.” Said Robert. He then faced Nicholas. “Nicholas, who am I, Robert or Godwin, I don’t know. I am so confused.” Said Robert.
“Shush, calm down, breath deeply” said one of the four women. She pushed Roberts head into her lap, so that Robert was lying down. Robert looked up at her.
“You’re the First sister of the goddesses.” Said Robert.
“Yes I am” said the Goddess.
“If you don’t know your name, I can’t tell you.” Said Nicholas.
“But you know everything” said Robert exasperated.
“But, if I tell you what to do, how will that help you, what happens if I am not around.” Said Nicholas.
“Wait, if I am both Robert and Godwin, why can’t I combine those names?” said Robert.
“Good idea!” said Nicholas.
“Hmmm” started Robert. “How about Rodwin?” Said Robert.
“No, too unnatural” said Godwin.
“Gobert?” tried Robert.
“No, sounds awful” said Nicholas this time.
“Robin?” Robert tried sounding hopeful. This time, it wasn’t Nicholas or Godwin who answer, but the First Goddess, who lap Robert was still lying in.
“That is perfect” she said, Robert smiled.
“Good, first name Robin, second name, is” Nicholas paused and looked towards Robert.
“Well, my last name is Smith and King, you cannot combine those names in a good way, the only name you can get is King-Smith, or Smith-King, and I like neither of those names, so, lets think.” Robert paused. The first Goddess then spoke,
“Isn’t your new mind, the offspring of both your minds?” she said softly.
“That’s right!” exclaimed Robert. In his joy, he planted a kiss on the first Goddess’s lips. She blushed deeply.
“Let’s see, if I was a smith before, then now I must be a Smithson.” Robert said excitedly.
“Okay, let’s see how that works, Robin Smithson, Robin Smithson. Yes, I think that is fine.” Said Nicholas while pacing. “Okay. Come, look into my eyes again, Robert.” Nicholas stopped pacing.
Robert stood up and walked over to Nicholas and looked into his eyes, they swirled like rainbows again, and then, something happened, Robert couldn’t explain what, but it felt like a blast had come out of Nicholas’s body, and passed through him, and out of this world.
“What did you do?” asked Robert.
“Tell me your name” said Nicholas.
“Rober - Robin, Robin Smithson.” Answered Robin Smithson.
“Well, if you want to know what I just did, I just changed history, very dangerous, but now you have never existed as Robert Smith, you were never born, never lived, anywhere, any time, any world. Now, let’s get you geared up for your new life.” Said Nicholas, again he started pacing.
“Yes, that is a good place to begin” said Godwin.

Chapter 2:- My name is Robin Smithson.

“I am fine with that” said Robin. Nicholas stopped pacing and faced him.
“Well, let’s do things in the proper order. First thing. We must get that watch fixed, but, am I right in thinking, you don’t know how to use it?” said Nicholas.
“Yes that is right.” Said Robin embarrassed. Nicholas smiled, not in a mean way, but as if he could help Robin.
“Well, as you said, I do know everything, so I know how that watch works, so, I can give you that knowledge.” He said smiling. Robin looked at Nicholas happily.
“But, will it be enough, I know it can send me any place and any time, but is that enough for me to return to Earth. That is my home.” Said Robin looking at Nicholas hopefully, Nicholas frowned.
“No, not really” said Godwin “In the way you are thinking, Earth is your home because your most recent life was on Earth. That makes you an Earthling. But, your first life was on Saria-nay, which makes you a Sarian, so, you are a mix of both, which gives you an extraordinary gene pool. You have incredible strength and stamina from your Sarian side, but you also have a magnificent mind from your Earthling side. So, in fact you are not an Earthling, or a Sarian. You are alone in your race.” Finished Godwin.
“That’s a confronting reality.” Said Robin.
“It is, but we can figure out what you are later, give me that watch, you being part human, have lost your magic, but I have not, I am a pure mind power.” Stated Nicholas, he then continued, “But, I can give you technology that gave give you magic like powers.” He finished.
“That would be helpful” said Robin as he took off the watch. As he undid the strap, the watch easily unclasped itself from his wrist. Robin then handed the watch to Nicholas.
“This is crude technology, who ever sent you here, put a bit of teleportation technology into the destination area.” Said Nicholas looking up at Robin, “Very clever, but it would break after one use, which means, you can teleport, but it is not a round trip. You could only use this once.” He finished.
“Which means I am stuck here.” Said Robin with a sigh and flopped down on the ground.
“Did I ever say I couldn’t fix it, I have the power.” Said Nicholas, he placed the watch on the ground and put his cupped hands over it, a bright light shone from the gaps between fingers, and then he picked up the watch. Robin looked at it. It was not the same, it was better; it was sleeker, stronger, and smarter.
“Still, when you first designed it, you accidentally got it to tell you the planets Universal information, which is something I couldn’t do. I have kept this feature, in addition, I have given this watch a basic A.I.” said Nicholas giving Robin his watch back. “This artificial intelligence, A.I. is not that smart, it doesn’t think for itself the way you and I do, in has a basic preservation A.I. which means, it will get you out of tricky spots, and it should be able to protect itself. There is also a new teleportation chip, combined with your original time travel chip. That is also updated. This watch can send you anywhere. But, you must promise me, never go back to Earth. And only come to Saria-nay in desperate situations. The group and I only need a couple more seconds to destroy this planet. You came and arrived one second. The next time you want to come here, you must set your watch to one second after you leave.” Finished Nicholas, he then started to pace again.
“What did your watch say after you first used it?” asked Nicholas.
“Umm, something about a timewarp, and something about the Milky Way Galaxy is a protected zone.” Robin said.
“That is right, around certain planets, whose future, present and past is essential to doing something, the rulers of the universal, Gos, have placed a timewarp. This makes the planet repeat its time over and over again, but doesn’t let anything enter, or exit. Most planets which have a timewarp have a very short lifetime. Earth is one, Saria-nay is also.” Nicholas pointed out.
“But what happens if you do get past the timewarp?” asked Robin.
“Then, you enter the planet at a random time.” Nicholas said as if were normal.
“So, in other words you’re stuck there.” Godwin put in.
“How big can the timewarp be?” Robin queried.
“Big enough to cover an entire Galaxy, as in your case, now, I need to get you out of here, this planet, in a short time” said Nicholas. “Come, look into my eyes.”
“Robert got up of the ground from which he had been sitting and looked into Nicholas’s eyes.
In a few moments Robin was sitting back down again.
“What did you give me then?” said Robin.
“Information” was the only answer Nicholas gave. “Now, to get you out of here, you could just use your watch, but that would be quite boring, all your life, never having a home. But I can change that.” Said Nicholas. He closed his eyes.
“Come back here Robin, you might get in his way. And trust me, you don’t.” Godwin said, while pulling Robin back by his shoulder.
Nicholas closed his eyes and raised his arms so they were above his head; he then bought them down, and put the together. He interlocked his fingers, and then he grimaced. The world seemed to be sucking into one point, as water that swirls down a drain when you pull the plug out. Everything was stretching into this one point, the point just in the air, and then with a loud snap, everything sped back to its normal place. But where the hole had been, there was a large turtle shaped ship. It had four legs, each green and about the size of a full grown man, a large dome shell, which was speckled colours, brown, gold and silver. There was a head shaped part, on this was instead of eyes there was a panel, spanning from half-way one side of the head to the other side, half way. It did indeed look like a giant turtle. The only way into the turtle was if you climbed the steps that opened up on each front leg; at the top of each leg was a door.
“How many people will it hold?” asked Robin.
“About one hundred” answered Nicholas. Robin went over and stood next to a leg, he was about the same size as it.
“This thing could fit one hundred people inside it. I would fit inside one leg. Then it would still not fit a hundred people,” Complained Robin loudly. “So, just tell me, how does it fit one hundred people?”
“Well, for one thing, you haven’t been inside yet, so I suggest you do.” Said Nicholas calmly.
“This will be a laugh” said Robin as he walked up the stairs on the front left leg, he pushed open the door and entered.
“How the heck?” wondered Robin as he entered.
Inside the turtle there was enough space to fit a hundred people, there was three floors, each with their own balcony, spanning all the way around the room, the floor was covered in a thick red carpet, at the side opposite the head there was a marble staircase, which lead onto the first floor, and then above the first floor there was two others, and then the roof. Robin, still standing in the doorway, looked to his left, where the head should be, was a control panel. Robin walked over to it.
“Just a word of warning, I wouldn’t touch the red button just yet.” Said Nicholas as he entered the ship, “Well, are you going to name her?” he asked.
“Name who?” answered Robin.
“This ship, I thought that was obvious.” Replied Nicholas.
“Oh. Well, she is turtle, so Shelly, short for Michelle.” Said Robin, still not talking directly to Nicholas. As Robin said ‘Shelly’ the control panel lit up. A few beeps later, and then a voice spoke. A nice female voice.
“Welcome aboard captain. I am your ship, Shelly. What would you like me to do?” asked the ship Shelly.
“Well, that is cool.” Said Robin. Then he noticed a mirror on the wall, he finally examined himself. In the time he had been here, his looks had changed. He was no longer the sandy haired man, but he looked younger, stronger.
“Nicholas, what age am I?” he asked.
“Your body says around twenty” answered Nicholas.
“But I was thirty-eight when I arrived here. How does that work?” said Robin.
“Well, a new feature of the watch is regeneration, you use that while you are dieing and the watch will regenerate your body, but it will also transform your body.” Said Nicholas. “Come here, and hand me your watch.” Nicholas outstretched his hand, palm open, Robert handed it to him. Nicholas pressed a few buttons in a random order, but he seemed to know what he was doing, and then a draw opened, it had a slot in it, Nicholas put the watch in the slot and with a small clunk, it slotted in, the draw the retracted back into the control panel. There was a whirring sound, two beeps and then the draw opened again. Nicholas took back the watch, and handed it back to Robin.
“What did you just do?” he asked.
“Transferred information, Shelly can now time travel, and your watch can now always find Shelly.” Finished Nicholas.
“So, now what, do I just leave?” asked Robin.
“No, I am going to do a couple more things. Here is number one.” Nicholas smiled. “I need you to look into my eyes again.”
Robert sighed, and then looked up in Nicholas’s eyes, two second’s later. He had stepped back.
“Well, now you know how to fly Shelly.” Said Nicholas as he walked out the door. Robin hurried after him.
“Now what?” asked Robin.
“What is this, ask question’s day?” said Nick with a laugh. “Well, now I am going to check your reflexes.” He smiled. “Catch!” he shouted throwing something at Robin. Robin dodged it, but just, Nicholas then tried to punch Robin, Robin again dodged, he jumped back as Nicholas threw something else.
“Good, some original skill still remaining, but no-where near what you had when you left this planet.” Said Nicholas. He threw something else, and Robin, doing a hand stand, had to grab it with his hand. This resulted in him doing a one handed handstand. Robin looked at what he had had caught. It was a dagger.
“This is a dagger!” he cried.
“What did you think I was throwing at you, teddy-bears?” said Nicholas with a laugh. “These won’t kill you, because you have that watch, but they will hurt you badly.”
“What is the point of this?” called Robin as he had to do a back-flip to avoid another three daggers.
“Well, for one thing, I do know that when you keep pushing someone, they will have to snap sometime, and then, they will show their true colours.” Said Nicholas.
“Really” shouted Robin as another dagger whizzed past his head. He then realised something. Nicholas was playing with him, not testing, not even trying to make him work, but playing with him. For some reason, this made Robin annoyed.
“Time to make us play, on my terms” he muttered to himself. The next time Nicholas threw a dagger at his knees, instead of jumping backwards, he jumped over it and towards Nicholas, and finally, through doing complex jumps and dodging daggers, he was close enough to Nicholas. Robin first tried a roundhouse high kick, towards Nicholas’s face.
“Oh, well done. Now the game begins.” Said Nicholas. He grabbed Robin’s foot, twisted it, and forcibly threw Robin away. As Robin hit the ground and rolled, a dagger whizzed past his face, landing where he had been a moment ago. Now Nicholas wasn’t toying, he was aiming to hurt.
“Let’s play then!” shouted Robin. He ran in zigzags, avoiding daggers as fast as he could, some barely missed him. Something clicked in his mind as he saw a dagger go past him. He looked forward. A dagger was coming straight for him, then time seemed to slow down, so he could predict where the dagger would pass him, if he avoided it, then, as it passed the right side of his body he grabbed it with his hand, and returned back to Nicholas, at double the speed. The move that his body just did, seem natural to his body. Now Robin could also attack from a distance, removing Nicholas’s advantage in their fight. So, Nicholas abandoned the daggers. He went straight for Robin, even through Nicholas looked around thirty, and his speed was amazing. But Robin could easily see what he planned to do, he dodged Nicholas’s attack, parried, and struck a blow to Nicholas’s stomach, Nicholas’s breathed in sharply but didn’t falter in his movements. In return to this Nicholas started to pound Robin, landing blow after blow, each of them strong as a blow from a raging bull.
Robin first didn’t resist, he could move, then gradually he started to block, only blocking about one punch out of twenty, then, it was ten out of twenty, soon Nicholas couldn’t get a hit in. Robin then realised what Nicholas was doing, he was training his body, pushing him as far as he could. Robin the finally started to fight back, he landed about fifteen hits, when Nicholas changed his tactic, easily dodging Robin, he struck hard and fast, then was out of Robin’s reach, then he would strike again, and then get out of reach.
This confronted Robin, as he had though he was going to win, but then, he moved with Nicholas, every time Nicholas went forward, Robin would strike, and try and hit as many times as he could. Nicholas then again changed tactics, now using power only. This was the hardest for Robin, as even strong as he was, he could not compare to Nicholas’s power. So, he used Nicholas’s power against him, tripping him up, making him miss, and then strike something else, until Nicholas finally fell to the ground and Robin was able to get a dagger to his neck.
“Well done.” Said Godwin clapping.
“Why, why are you clapping?” asked Robin.
“Because now you are ready to leave.” Said Nicholas.
“Really?!” said Robin excitedly.
“Yes” said Nicholas sitting up. Robin jumped excitedly.
“So, I can now leave. This is so awesome.” He said excitedly. He ran towards Shelly, his ship. When Godwin called out his name.
“ROBIN!” he shouted.
“What?” answered Robin.
“Come back here.” He said.
“Why?” answered Robin.
“You don’t have a crew” answered Nicholas. In an instant, Robin was teleported, by Nicholas, from where he was standing to next to Godwin.
“What do you mean crew?” said Robin suspiciously.
“Well, it is going to get lonely, so we are going to give you a crew member.” Said Godwin with a smile. “Stephanie, meet your captain.” He finished beckoning a goddess forward. She was shorter than all the other goddesses, and oblivious younger. She had blonde hair and was quite startled when Godwin called her name.
“What” she said quite rudely to him.
“Adjust your attitude, you said you wanted to get out of here, well this is your chance, either leave here with him, or stay here?” said Nicholas, “Which do you choose?” he asked. Robin knew that Nicholas had pushed her into a corner with only one way out.
“I will go with him.” She answered. She was grimacing as she said it.
“Okay, now you two are free to go.” Nicholas said. “Oh, by the way Robin, don’t go to Earth, you will regret it for the rest of your life. And only come here when you must. You can only come here a few more times, and the last time, will be spectacular.” He said waving. Robin and Stephanie walked to the ship. Robin was almost jumping as she walked. As they neared the ship, Nicholas appeared in front of Robin. Robin would have jumped back, but Nicholas’s had grabbed his arms. Nicholas stared into his eyes. Robin tried not to blink. Then, an instant later Nicholas was gone. Robin climbed the stairs on the leg, much to Stephanie’s display. Inside they found Nicholas at the controls, starring into the windscreen. He then vanished again.
“Well that was weird.” Said Robin.
“So were you, not letting me on first. What ever happened to ladies first?” She said.
“I don’t know Steph, maybe because you’re not a lady.” Robin said as he pressed a few buttons, “Shelly, what did Nicholas do to you.” He asked.
“He just uploaded some information.” Shelly answered.
“About what?” said Robin as he pressed some more buttons?
“The Universe” Shelly answered happily.
“So, are we ready to leave?” interrupted Stephanie. “And, Robin, its Stephanie for you, not Steph.” She told him.
“Fine with me.” Said Robin. He pressed a green button, flicked a switch, and turned the steering wheel. Shelly stayed where she was.
“Err, captain, you have to take off the handbrake” Shelly said.
“Opps” said Robin. He pressed a button and they shot up into the sky.
“WOOHOOOOO!!” yelled Robin as they shot up. Stephanie was stumbling around, trying to find a stable spot to stand.
“Where is my room? Robin” she said.
Shelly answered instead of Robin, “It’s the one on the right, at the back.” At light lit up under the first floor balcony. “There is your room Stephanie.” Shelly answered. Robin on the other time was having a hard time flying Shelly. Stephanie walked to her room, opened the door and slammed it shut. The noise it created, a loud bang, echoed around the ship. Robin grimaced.
“Why did Nicholas only give me the information on how you work, and how to steer, not how to fly!” he complained loudly to Shelly.
“Well, you have to learn. Anyway, we are about to breach the timewarp.” Shelly Informed. Robin swore very loudly at this. His voice echoing around the ship, Stephanie bursts out from her room, still unbalanced on the moving floor.
“What! What? Are we under attack?” she said, stumbling towards Robin.
“No.” said Robin, he took his left hand off the wheel and grabbed Stephanie’s wrist.
“Hey! No touching!” she called out as he pulled her to him.
“Look up at the sky!” he said. He pointed at something. Somehow his words seem to be getting softer, then Stephanie realised that there was a background noise, like a buzzing sound. Then she noticed what he was pointing at. In front of the ship was a barrier, and they were heading right for it.
“WHAT!” she shouted. “Are you crazy? We will kill ourselves!” she continued to rant.
“We have to hope!” Robin shouted back. “Nothing ventured, nothing gain!”
The buzzing sound was extremely loud, Robin was frowning, his knuckles white. Stephanie was holding her head. The buzzing was incredible. Robin frowned. Stephanie was screaming, her eyes screwed up in pain. Robin couldn’t hear her. All he could here was the buzzing. Then suddenly,
“It’s okay now.” A comforting voice said. Stephanie slowly opened her eyes. Her head felt fine. She realised she was crouched on the carpeted floor, and someone was next to her, arm round her shoulders, not quite hugging her, but reassuring her. Stephanie blushed a deep red. Robin pulled her slowly to her feet. He wasn’t the usually jumpy person she had seen him as before, but serious, calm, focused. She wobbled unsteadily on her feet and instantly he had his arms round her to hold her upright. He guided her towards the front of the ship. Stephanie couldn’t see out because a screen had been placed over the windscreen. It slowly rolled up, revealing,
“That’s beautiful.” Stephanie Said.
“Yes, it is.” Robin said with a smile. “Welcome to the wonder of the Universe.” He smiled. “Pick a place, anyplace, and let’s go there.”
Stephanie looked around, and then pointed to a spot, a little bright spot. “I want to go there.” She said. Robin smiled. “Okay” he said. “Oh, and by the way I know you’re a Gos.” He said. Stephanie jumped.
“But, h-h-how?” she said.
“Easily, I identified you as one as soon as Nicholas gave me information about other species. Information such as, their entire history, their weaknesses, their planets location, how far out is their species area. Also, it was very easy to identify you.” Robin said without batting an eyelid.
“How?” demanded Stephanie.

Robin
Time Travellers,

“Just a word of warning, I wouldn’t touch the red button just yet.” Said Nicholas as he entered the ship, “Well, are you going to name her?” he asked.

“Easily, I identified you as one as soon as Nicholas gave me information about other species. Information such as, their entire history, their weaknesses, their planets location, how far out is their species area. Also, it was very easy to identify you.” Robin said without batting an eyelid.
“How?” demanded Stephanie.
“Easy, A Go, your species, is assigned to a planet, to look after it, because the royal family Gos own the entire universe. Also, when a Go is assigned a planet, they can leave it, for a short time, but they cannot change planets, and only can leave permanently when the planet in their care is dead. Most Gos make themselves out to be a god in the eyes of the species of the planet they look after. So, you’re a goddess, you’re a Go.” Robin stated.
“Yes, I am. But I wasn’t assigned to that planet, I was visiting it with my parents.” Defended Stephanie.
“Hey, I am not blaming you for anything, oh, and you might want to catch some sleep, I will let Shelly drive us towards that planet and then, when we are in range teleport to the planet.” Said Robin, “Have a nice sleep” Robin said as he entered his room, the one to the left of the stairs.
Stephanie was still waving after his door shut.
“Pull yourself together. You are not going to fall for some measly human” she muttered to herself as she walked to her room. “Yes, I know he is cute, but he is human, you are a different species” she told herself sternly. She closed her door. The last time she had been here, she hadn’t focused on what it looked like, mostly, the last time; she was too angry at Robin to notice. This time she actually looked around. It was a nice room; the walls were a red that pointed towards being dark pink. The floor was carpeted with the same design as outside her room, the bed was a king sized, four-poster bed, which was dressed in pink-red sheets, she lay down on top of the duvet, and smiled when she found it very comfortable. In a few minutes she was happily asleep. So she didn’t notice the person slip quietly into her room, and tuck her in, much less did she notice the very same person, kiss her forehead, mutter “Night” and softly walk out. Nor did she noticed, or hear the very loud bang, and following that cursing at that person, tripped and fell over the bottom step, as he made his way back to his room.

The next Day.
Human time: 9 hours has past.

Stephanie woke to sounds off clanging, thudding, whizzing and finally, cursing. She tried to go back to sleep, but all she could hear was: Whizz…Thud…“Damn”…Whizz…Thud…“Damn”…Whizz…Clang!...Whizz…Clang…Whizz…Thud…“Damn”…Whizz…Clang!...Whizz…Thud…“Damn”…Whizz…Thud…“Damn”…Whizz…Clang! She pushed back her sheets, barely registration that she was under them, and walked outside. In the main hall, she greeted an amazing site. Robin Smithson, throwing daggers at targets, these ‘targets’ were in fact old cans, and were placed on the railing of each floor, Robin was aiming, and throwing daggers at them. Most of the time he was missing, as he was throwing the daggers at quite a steady pace, only one second to aim, and then another dagger whizzing through the air. She smiled, and noticed how she like how he looked doing this activity, he face was focused, his brow, wet from sweating, he didn’t have a shirt on, so she could she his tanned, muscly chest. This also had a light sheen. As she watched him, he picked up five daggers, from a table, which was behind him, threw one, Whizz; and hit a can, Clang!, instantly aiming and throwing another, Whizz…Thud!, he cursed at this, then in his anger, threw the remaining three, all in a row, at the targets. Whizz…Whizz…Whizz, Clang! Clang! Clang!
He turned around to the table, and grabbed his drink bottle, only when did he hear Stephanie clapping, did he turn around and notice her. He blushed, and smiled in embarrassment,
“Err, sorry about waking you up, I can stop doing this if you like.” He said, his face growing redder with each word.
“No, no, you can continue.” Stephanie answered, and then she snapped out of her daydream like state. “Have you had breakfast, and are we there yet?” she said harshly.
“Well, I have had my breakfast, and I cooked you some” he said, moving to the side to let her see a plate, it had scrambled eggs and bacon on it. Stephanie licked her lips.
“It smells great.” She said as she sat down. “I never knew you were a good cook” she said as she started to eat.
“Well, I wasn’t” Robin answered, his face going dangerously red. “Took me about two hours to perfect that dish.” He said.
“But, where is all the burnt food?” Stephanie asked in return.
“Ate it!” replied Robin. “Couldn’t let the good food go to waste.” He said with a smile.
“You know you are a complete fool,” Stephanie said rudely, “But a lovable one!” she said with a laugh. Robin also laughed.
“So, you love me know.” Said Robin, also laughing.
“I never said that.”
“But admit it, I am cute.”
“If you don’t stop I will use you for target practise.”
“If you can throw a dagger”
“I can, and quite will I might add.”
“Yes”
“Do you doubt my ability?” Stephanie said, pointing her knife at Robin, who laughed, and before she could react, had the knife out of her hand, and Clang! He had thrown it at a can. All this time, he hadn’t taken his eyes off her. This spooked her.
“You shouldn’t threaten me” Robin said, laughing all the time at Stephanie’s shocked face.
“Don’t, that, dangerous, scared.” Stephanie stammered, she couldn’t string words together. Finally she closed her eyes, focused, and then spoke. “Don’t do that ever, ever, again, and what am I supposed to eat with now genius?” she said.
“Your knife.” Robin answered. He opened his hand, showing her knife, still in the can he had hit with it.
“But how? When?” Stephanie started to stutter again.
“Easy.” Said Robin. He put out his right arm, showing the watch. “You forget I can time travel, and I can teleport.” He smiled.
“Don’t be such a bloody show-off” said Stephanie, taking her knife from him. “Next time, don’t throw utensils.” She said, she looked down at her dinner, about to throw some egg at Robin, who was on her left.
“You do know it’s not lady like to throw food at the people who cooked it.” Robin said, bending down, smiling. She jumped when Robin’s voice and face came from her right.
“Don’t you know it’s not nice to sneak up on someone?” Stephanie replied. Robin grinned and straightened up, he then walked around to the other side of the table and sat down. He looked over at where he had been throwing daggers and frowned. Stephanie stared at him for a bit, then quickly looked at her food when he look across at her.
“Were you staring at me?” he asked.
“No. Course not.” Stephanie lied. She then changed the subject. “What were you doing with those cans anyway?” she asked.
“Target practise” he answered. “Just like you said before” he smiled. “But I did miss a lot of times, so I want to get better at that.” Robin said.
“How many did you get?”
“I think about seventeen, since I put up twenty-four cans, and there are only seven left.” Robin said. “But I did have thirty daggers.” He said.
“Then what happened to the other thirteen?” Stephanie asked. The truth both dawned on them at the same time. Robin swore loudly as he ran up the stairs, but he couldn’t see any daggers in the wall. He looked around, but no daggers were there. Then Shelly spoke up for the first time that day.
“Captain, are you looking for these?” she asked. Then all thirteen daggers fell from the wall, Stephanie looked amazed, Robin stood there calmly watching them fall to the floor, clinking softly as the fell to the ground. When all thirteen had hit the ground, Robin bent down and picked them up. He walked calmly back down the stairs, thanking Shelly as he walked. Stephanie stood still, still staring where the daggers had fallen from the walls. Robin turned around.
“Something wrong Stephanie?” he asked. Stephanie turned around, strode down the steps, walked right up to Robin. Took a deep breath and said “Of course there is something wrong; for one thing, Daggers just came out of the wall! That is not possible! With magic yes, but neither of us have magic! How did you-Shelly-Wall-Daggers” Said Stephanie angrily, at the end of each sentence she had prodded Robin in the chest. She took another breath, but before she could say a word, Robin answered.
“Smart Walls”
Stephanie frowned even more, “Are you trying to be funny?” she asked Robin, her face an inch away from his.
Robin bent backwards and spoke, “No, on Earth, the houses we had were smart, had Artificial Intelligence, A.I. For example, if I threw something at the walls, they would absorb the item; this would mean nothing got broken.” Robin smiled and teleported so he was next to Stephanie. “Also, if someone fell against the wall, the walls would become soft, and catch the person. The smartest walls and the most expensive had the ability to have a human form.” Said Robin.
“And how do they transform into a human?” said Stephanie, she looked like he was making all this up. “Oh yeah” Stephanie said. “Prove it.” She then turned her back towards him.
“Can’t now, wait ten years and I will. Okay, you fine with that.” Robin walked towards the control panel. He pressed a button, and the view of space from the windscreen changed. There were still some distant stars in the view, but the main thing Stephanie was looking at was the huge green sphere right in front of the ship.

That was nice. I love adventure stories. This one particularly stands out, mostly because like I said before, it's like watching a movie, you can see the scenes in your head.

Wow. Something is stretching the page out so far I cannot possibly get this story’s formatting to flow so that I can read it.

Furthermore, thou should really double-space those paragraphs. See the thread at the very tippty-top of the forum list called POSTING GUIDE for good tips on how to solve some of these problems.
strecthing the page? its fine for me.
