Oh yesterday i received a wonderful Fenthry created by Louhi. I have been wanted a little feather for quite awhile now. It turns out to be a gorgeous blue and silver like male feather.

I had been walking into Louhi's store quite awhile checking for any feathers on sale in the glass container. I've seen quite a few feathers go there and then find new homes but this one caught my eye immediately. The blue tip of the feather was gorgeous i couldn't resist and i went home with a little feather by my side.

Now the hard part on my behalf is to get the little feather to emerge somehow... but that might be the least of my troubles as a new fenthry parent...

When we got home i already had a special little container like Louhi's ready for the feather. Of course i loved having the windows opened and i didn't want to chance the feather flying away with it. There is a little opening like doors in the front where i can open it and once the feather becomes active might want to come out of that box once and awhile.

Tonight i sat on the windowsill with the feather in my hand. I stared at the moon and looked at my feather. They have a funny resemblence... don't they... I think i have a feeling i know what i'm going to name it when it grows up but it wouldn't hurt to name him now so i don't have to call him 'Feather' all the time.

His name is Verein Ze Moonhue. I thought it was a perfect name for him and it will suit him well when he grows up. But that's quite a long name his nickname will be Verein. Yes my little Verein.

I did not have time to write an entry yesterday because i was sooo busy teaching my little Verein! yes he emerged and here is the story. Yesterday morning i woke up and instinctively went to go check on my dear little feather but when i was walking towards his box i was blinded by a bright flash of light. I was thinking OH no something's wrong with Verein. That's what immediately went through my mind. After the light subdued i went over nervously to see what had happened. Then i looked on the table my little Verein had finally emerged from his feather! I was filled with excitement and joy. Now i would get to see what my feather's personality and everything was like. I decided to bring Verein to the Society to see how he reacted among others like him.

Verein can speak! but of course still like a little kid. he still slurs words together and such but he can make conversation. I knew he was very clever. Still his flying can improve but he definitely is getting better.
Something has been troubling Verein lately. He always is sitting on the windowsill in the morning and especially at night looking out at the grass and such in my yard. At night he loves looking at the moon for some reason... I hope he feels ok. But one morning i decided to ask him what was wrong. He said absolutely nothing. He just liked looking out at the nature. I looked at him and laughed. I was worried about nothing. So i decided to give Verein a taste of nature i took him outside but took very many precautions. He seemed to like the grass the most. It intrigued him very much. Once we had a tour of the yard i took him back inside. Verein seemed to have enjoyed his experience. Someday he'll be able to go out there alone but i doubted that it would be anytime soon. Something else had crossed my mind that didn't before. He really didn't have any friends... he talked to enough fen but really didn't have a 'friend' that he saw and could play with when we were at the shop... i hope he finds one soon...
It has been very interesting seeing Verein growing as he did. He became more confident and he seems to enjoy attention XD

Today was frightening. I can still feel my heart beating from what had happened earlier today.
This morning i woke up around 4:00 AM because i couldn't sleep. It figures that Verein also woke up because of my clumsiness. (I tripped over a cord and fell.) Today i also needed to wake up to screw down a loose floorboard in the living room. Verein was quietly watching me and occassionally practice his flying. I left the room to get another screw in the garage and Verein stayed there. He was hopping around the floorboards when he fell! The floorboard that was loose made another one lose. He fell under the floor there was no space between the floorboard and the concrete below. He was just stuck inside the hole he fell through. When i came back i saw Verein with his lower torso and legs inside the hole and his upper torso and face sticking out. Of course i panicked. I couldn't think of anything to do without hurting him. He had already been stuck in the hole for an hour or so.
I sat down and thought quickly but i couldn't calm down. Verein was acting pretty calm but i could tell by his face expression that he was pretty worried. I ran outside to the garage to see what i could find. OIL! i had some car oil in a cabinet. I rushed to the cabinet and found a small container of it. I grabbed a small cup and poured a teeny bit in it and ran back to Verein. I pasted some of the oil between the crack so he could slip out. It took awhile but he did eventually get out but by the end he had gotten oil all over himself. I was so relieved when i got him out but these things were bound to happen as he grew up...

Everything has been normal as usual. Verein has been learning much for the past week. He is learning to control his tail better also. (He couldn't do very much with it at first but now he's a regular monkey.) We haven't gotten to visit the shop much lately because i've been out swimming competitively at the Junior Olympics but since that is over now i will have more time.

Verein pretty much knows my house like the back of his hand now. He can get anywhere when ever he wants. Especially now that he could fly better. He could tackle the highest stairs without problem.
The other family pets are also getting more and more used to him. They actually avoided him for awhile but now they're starting to include him in with some of their daily activities and helping him learn more. The house has actually been unusually quiet lately. No broken furniture no arguing over food. It's been very quiet... unusually quiet. No matter the silence will probably be broken soon.

Verein is also maturing a lot. He isn't as childish as he was. It soon makes me wonder when he will be changing into a teen. It seems like almost yesterday i was holding his little feather in fear that it might get blown away by the wind.

Now all goes well i hope it stays that way...

Today when I walked out of my house to retrieve the newspaper i saw something on my doorstep. It was a package and it had a note attached to it. It was a gift to me and Verein! I quickly read the note and it was from Huni Pi. Next time i see her in the shop i must thank her. I gave the package to Verein so he could open it. He ripped up the package quickly to find a small blue and white rock. It was beautiful and it had the same colors as Verein. He has put it in his house right next to his bed where he would see it everyday when he slept and woke up. I must go visit the shop soon. I've been quite busy lately and Verein has been quite bored... Perhaps on the weekend...
