18 July 2004

This evening I went out four-wheeling with a friend. We stayed out really late, and since he was good at naming the stars. I sat and listened. He pointed out many that I knew and one that I didn't know. Or had ever heard of. It was call Apus.

I'm intrigued by this constellation. We spend a lot of the night out there, talking and and I learning more about the stars. Maybe one day there will be a way to take the stars home...

I found Apus, that night. After we went home, I went back out for a few minutes and found here just sitting there.

Anyways, I found that raising her has not been easy. When I took her to the stores, she wanted a lot of things. I hope they arrive soon. She's been doing well, other than that. She does however, get upset if I talk to someone else for too long with out looking at her.

Lately, I've been reading to her, princess stories, with her name inserted as the princesses' name. She's almost mastered sitting up by herself as well. She likes to babble as well, and I'm not sure what she's saying, but if I don't reply she gets ready to cry.

Soon I plan to teach her to walk...or start to walk...then to potty training as I hate changing dipers.

I feel bad. I've been shirking my duties to keep this updated about Apus.

Apus has learned a few words...mostly instructional words. Such as "Gimme me", "Mine," "Me," and "Now." And some more along those lines.

As well as that, she's good at grabbing for things. As I find out ever time we go to the store. ^^; She's begun crawling too, so I have to keep a sharp eye out for her. She likes to get into everything, then yell that's its hers. And if I take it away because she'll break it, or whatever, she cries. A lot.... So once in a while I give her a little candy to make her stop. Otherwise I have to spend a lot of time reassuring her that I do love her, and she is the center of my world.

She's met a few of the other Astras. Lynx gave her a huge bag of candy. Good thing I saw...after a bit and took it away. No need to get her so hyped up on sugar. Lyra seemed sad that her music didn't get the same attention that the candy. I think Apus did like it however, it's just right now candy is more important.

With that fan she has, I wonder if maybe she'll be like one of those Spanish dancers. Time will tell...
((Note: I'm going to get some wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow. Will update as soon as I'm able. ^^; ))

Wow. I was out longer than I had planned. Anyways, Apus has now learned to walk. And run to some extent. So this means I really have to keep an eye on everything. Especially at the stores. As she thinks she needs everything now.

She's also started to ask for candy. It's hard to keep it away from her, I don't want her teeth to rot.

We went to the park the other day. The other kids looked at her weirdly but let her play with them. The next thing I know she's a princess "Locked" in a tower. Seemed to suite her quiet well.

I better go, as I hear crashing from the other room. I hope she's alright. As a note to myself: Try to update more and take her to the lab to meet others.

Man...once again it's been a while since I've posted. But Apus seems to be developing normally. She's able to form sentences now, not great ones, but simple ones. And she's also taking a liking to dance so I've enrolled her in a dance course. She's just started that this week so I hope it goes well. Maybe it will give her some focus.

Anyways, it's been a busy few weeks for us. I've moved us from our small house into a newer larger one. We've....well I've under the directioni of Apus have started painting her room. Right now I've got a friend painting a mural on her wall of her as a princess locked high in a tower and a knight slaying a dragon to get to her. She seems highly enthralled with it. As for rest of the room, it's mostly in shades of pink and purple. I've also got her a little desk on which I've been trying to get her to start learning letters and words. That's not going as well as the dance lessons sadly.

So far pretty much everthing else is the same. I have to keep a careful eye on her when at the store. Since if I don't I tend to end up with things in the cart or at home that I don't want and/or need. As demanding as she is, I've grown really accustom to her. I hope this never changes....
