(( quick, very rough outline of his basic story... will expand as more comes to mind gonk ))

Levi is the reincarnate of a infamous pirate- 1st mate "Lovekill Levi" - who went down in history for his reckless and daring pursuits of wealth, fame, and pleasure. Although he was only 2nd in command on his feared brig, his charms and experience often put him in a higher power than the Captain himself...

Combining a cocky, confident and magnetic personality with an expertise in weaponry and battle, Levi had his ways of getting what he wanted from whoever he wanted.

The reason for his downfall is unrevealed at the moment. Let's just say he learned a hard, unfortunate lesson in the dangers of power and wealth, and their ability to corrupt...

Okay... confession time.

Sinclaire is NOT good with children. At all.

Second confession:

Sinclaire thusly FREAKED OUT when presented with a tiny, black-purple-and-brown wrapped baby boy.

I do not know what was going on in Xaria's mind when she entrusted the little one in my care, but what I DO know is that she is crazy. Absolutely.

Nevertheless, the sleeping boy was too innocent, too vulnerable for me to pass off, and I vowed that I would try my best in caring for him...
The first thing I did, as I brought him into my house and set him gently upon my dining room table, was sit down and stare.

Levi-- as I had named him-- had hair as black as a raven's, and a mysteriously ragged, flowing outfit--
complete with leg wrappers, and a torn brown scarf.
Rather than being repulsed, I found myself curiously intrigued by his clothing. Did he come like that?
It reminded me... very vaguely..... of something a pirate would wear.
Dark, tattered, and mysterious.

A pirate?!
Suddenly, Xaria's words floated, unbidden, across my mind: "This baby is one of a number we found....
we called them 'Legends of a Tale,' for they seemed to be based off of different legends, strangely enough..."

My mouth nearly dropped to the ground, as I stared at Levi.
A pirate baby. I was now in charge of a little pirate baby.

As if on cue, the black-haired boy opened one eye at me lazily, his little mouth twisting up in a crooked smile, as if saying: "You'd better believe it."

Oh boy.

This was going to be interesting...

This morning I awoke to find Levi crawling about on my kitchen table, attempting to stuff my watercolor paints in his mouth.

It took about a full half hour to get him down, to wash out the table and his paint-stained skin, as well as his mouth. Now, his beautiful pirate-esque baby clothing is stained with the colors of the rainbow...

What can I say? I am only a high-school student and an artist... but I am trying my best to be a guardian for Levi. I feel like a babysitter!

But despite the difficulty of the situation, Levi actually behaves pretty well. He seems to be a fun-loving, mischevious boy, but at the same time fairly reserved... most of the day he spends sleeping, or watching me quietly from his spot on the couch.

I suppose his more active, troublemaking side will appear when he grows up...

Anyways. I plan to take him out to enjoy the fresh air later... but... I wonder what people will say, seeing me clutching a little baby dressed just like a pirate! His ragged grown scarf and leg-wraps will surely come across as odd.

I really don't care though-- Levi needs to experience the outdoors, and he is a beautiful baby anyways... i wouldn't be embarrassed of showing him off... of being his guardian.

Now... if i could wash those stains out of his clothes before the outing...

Levi has been quite the lucky boy... recently, he's been receiving all sorts of gifts, and he simply adores the attention. Cocky little guy, isn't he!

While i puttered about the house, working on my art portfolio, attempting to prepare for senior year, Levi mostly kept to himself, crawling about and watching me curiously. I've taken him outdoors recently, almost everyday if I can manage it... he loves the fresh air, the people, and the noise outside. I never realized that pirates were so social! Maybe as babies at least...

Luckily, noone said much about his unique attire, as I greeted them... that was good. I loved his ragged, mysterious clothing, and could not imagine of dressing Levi in "normal" clothes! He should be free to be the boisterious little pirate that he is.

Anyways, back to the gifts... Levi has been captivated with the three toys that he has... a lovely hand-made paper fan, a small plushy mouse, and the newest addition... a beautifully made angel teddy bear.

I think he likes to enact battle scenes with them... oddly enough. He would grab the velvety purple bear, shouting incomprensible words, while fanning the fan at the little mouse.... but somehow, the little mouse would always make a comeback, and defeat the teddy bear. Maybe a battle between an evil pirate captain versus some poor, heroic lad? Who knew.

Chuckling, I let Levi play however he wanted to... you should never get in the way of a pirate when they're busy.

Sinclaire
Whew, it had been a long long while since I could actually take Levi outside... i had been stuck and cramped at home for a while now, doing nothing but working feverishly on my studies and applications! But the poor boy had been itching to taste the cold, fresh air... and the hustle and bustle of people walking nearby... the things that he loved to do when we had more time. He's a social little pirate after all. And when pirates get restless... they get RESTLESS.

"Levi, stop..... stopp... what are you doing?!" I persisted desperately, as the little pirate latched onto my shoulders and whined, his black ragged cape swinging all about and into my face. Sighing, I put down my pen and twisted around to face him. His small strands of hair hung limply about his forehead, face set into a purposeful "cute" pout... I almost rolled my eyes, smiling a bit.

"I know, I know... this house is a little too small for ya, huh. Pirates need lots of fresh air and room and adventure... well, I'm just sorry... I'm not that type of a person!" I reached backwards to pick the boy up, and he stared with me with large, remorseful eyes.

Sighing once more, this time with a larger smile, I petted his brown bundled head. "We'll see, matey. Let me finish this last piece of work... then i'll take ya outside to the docks. We can watch the ships and the sea gulls... I kinda miss the sea myself. What do you say?"

With this giving in on my part, Levi immediatel perked up, giving his trademark crooked grin. It seemed that that was all it took to make him happy... just the thought of finally entering the real world again!

I half-smiled, placing the boy in my lap and trying to quickly finish my work. Maybe he wasn't the only one who would benefit from visiting the outside...... I needed a well-deserved break as well.

Hoooooo boy.

I am so surprised i'm not in prison or something by now...

Levi... that little troublemaker ('troublemaker' is definitely an understatement here) caused such a friggen huge commotion today... I'm so embarrassed that I even brought him out to town!! I know that he's only a little boy, and can't quite understand exactly what he's doing... and that he only follows his wishes and instincts... but still, I'm majorly, horribly embarrassed.

It all started when, after my promise to the little pirate, I finished up the last of my work and carried him off to the city shopping center... i figured that maybe he'd like to see the sights and sounds of the bustling city, and the pretty christmas decorations and lights that were being put up!

Sure enough, as soon as I set foot into the lively commercial district, Levi began to yell and whoop in excitement, reaching out with his little fingers towards the blaring cars and chattering people... I had to seriously restrain the boy, pulling him back, to keep him from leaping out of my arms! For the rest of the time, Levi managed to keep relatively quiet, yet his dark, gleaming eyes and fluttering ragged cape betrayed his utter exhiliration.

....This silence was unusual from the pirate, and as I feared, it didn't last for long. As i strolled past a line of merry lighted trees, and past the shopping center's jewlery shop... something caught Levi's eye, and held it like none other. Okay, so a LOT of things caught Levi's eye...

They were glimmering, glistening, sparkling jewels.... from rubies and diamonds to gold and silver.... all twinkling and inviting the little boy from their little velvet pounches. Levi was enraptured... totally captivated, his wide eyes nearly popping out of his head.

Unfortunately, I seemed to have forgotten the passion that pirates have for shiny treasure... and had made a terrible mistake by walking past that display window.

Before I knew it, to my utter horror, the boy had completely thrown himself clear of my arms... into and under the feet of a hundred walking strangers..... disappearing into the lighted door of the jewelry shop.

I clamped my eyes to my forehead, willing myself to think that this was all a dream, and that I should wake up now...

....That wish was abruptly shattered, as the sounds of screams and tinkling glass immediately burst through the air.... coming from the direction of the jewelry shop.

The first thing that came to my mind was..... "Is it even possible to put a little, shinies-obessed pirate baby in jail??"

Taking off across the crowded shopping center, ignoring the shouts and protests from passersby that I pushed aside, I headed towards the brightly-lit jewelry store...

Inside, I could hear some kind of racket going on. People screaming, glass tinkling, things falling upon the floor...
Hogod, PLEASE let Levi be okay... please let him be okay.... I thought over and over to myself, biting my lip.

Dashing into the doorway, my chest heaving and out of breath, I vaguely remember just standing there for a a moment.... shocked into silence.

In front of me lay an enormous pile of sparkling gems and jewels, heaped up in the middle of the floor... a mountain of beautiful gleaming light.
Salespersons and customers were pressed against the sides of the room, looking horrified. Broken glass littered the floor; the display cases had been all broken, their contents thrown out onto the floor.

And in the midst of this all... on the very tip top of the mountain of riches.... sat Levi, a rope of pearls twined about his neck, rubies and sapphires glittering in his hair and hands. He was nibbling upon a huge, glittering diamond, and giggling mirthfully.

"..........................."

I think this was the wrong time for me to do what i did.... but I burst out into laughter. I couldn't stop, I swear... I would have rolled around on the floor if it weren't for the broken glass. Levi looked HILARIOUS... he truly was a full-blown pirate, squashed into a little baby of a boy.

At the sound of my laughter, countless pairs of adult eyes turned to glare at me... but Levi turned and let out a joyful sound, reaching his bejeweled little arms towards me.

----

2 HOURS LATER.....

"Well, Levi..... paying for all that broken glass really put a dent in my pocketbook....." I groaned, running my forearm against my forehead. "That's it..... no more walking past shiny stores for you!"

The llittle pirate in my arms glanced up at me, his eyes wide and glowing. He had been entirely cleaned of jewels, despite much protest on his part... at least he looked like he had a lot of fun.

"At least we returned all those gems and stuff. It would have been hell trying to pay for THAT." I sighed in relief, looking down at him with a smile.

Levi blinked once or twice at me, then as if on cue, from his little brown pouch pulled out a glimmering little emerald ring..... and began to nibble on it.

"..................................."

- levi's playtime -

</center>

Sinclaire
For a fiesty little pirate boy, Levi sure is deprived when it comes to meeting other Legends. I think that's mostly my fault... I've been so busy lately with my life, rushing here and there with only some times to play with him. I don't even have time to bring him into the HQ.

A part of me feels horrible about that... but Levi seems to be taking it very well, and finding ways to laugh and play with his toys and by himself. I suppose that since he has such an outgoing nature, he has the capability to amuse himself for hours on end.

So a couple days ago, when a very nice gift left by Prana and Faevan appeared on our doorstep, I felt a sort of relief within me. A new toy for Levi... it was the only thing I could give him, to squash my guilt for not bringing him to play with others.

When the present was opened, Levi grinned his usual twisted little grin, plunging into the box to pull out a wriggling little frog. Its skin was a shiny, bright blue that he seemed to like, and began throwing it around with squeals and laughs of glee.

Watching the little pirate bat at the frog, playing "tag" of sorts with it, I couldn't help but smile a bit... it wasn't a replacement for another Legend, but it would do for now.

I just had to make some plans to bring him into the HQ...

- An odd happening with Levi... -

Sinclaire
Hmmm. Something quite interesting and strange has happened just yesterday... something that I can't really explain. But I'll try to relate it anyway...

I was in the kitchen whipping up a little snack, when the sounds of Levi giggling and laughing in the living room abruptly melted into silence. Curious as to what the little pirate had done to himself, I poked my head out the door... and saw the little black-and-purple bundle sitting with his back to me, his head bowed quietly.

Frowning and wiping my hands dry, I wondered what was the matter. It looked like he was praying respectfully or something... but I knew he would not do something of the sort. Maybe the little boy was looking at something...?

Taking a few quiet steps towards him, I addressed him softly: "Hey, Levi. Whatcha got there?"

I was half-smiling, expecting the pirate to have stubbed his toe or something. But when I faced him, and looked down.... my smile slowly melted away. Levi's face, a great change from his normal mischevious, crooked grin, was set in stone.... his eyes blank and staring.

".....Levi?"
