    Cerulean: “Hello all. As stated in the welcome, my sister and I are looking potential artists to work with for TokyoPop submissions. While we are artist ourselves, but we don’t specialize in manga comic (by that I mean panel work, perspective, angles and such), therefore, we’re searching for someone who does.

    “We’re interested in more than just one’s potential, but also their dedication and spirit to work together as a team to achieve our dreams. Let’s face it, if you’ve read this far, you have to at least aspire to be a manga artist in America to some degree –that is one thing we have in common so far. If you’ve managed this far, we hope you’d submit an application process."

Manga Team Expectation

    Cerulean: "Although we are only looking for one manga artist so far, if we find that there are more than one with talent and aspiration to realize our dreams, we will consider adding more to the team. Also, please note the fact that this is a team solely for manga submissions and creations. We expect at least this much out of our teams:"



    Manga Team Expectations:

    1. Cliché but, there is no ‘I’ in ‘team’.
    2. Meet deadlines. If you don’t think you can make it in time, at least an advanced notice is appreciated.
    3. Everyone is expected to contribute to the team in anyway that they can –if they fit it into their schedule. This means that if you could help out with the inking, speech bubbles, toning, and etc, it’d be awesome.
    4. In relation to Expectation 3, writer or not, everyone has a say in the storylines and plots as the story will always be in constant revision as ‘things’ come up.
    5. Patience is golden.
    6. Commitment is a must. So make sure that you have the time in your schedule.
    7. More expectations will be added if things come up.
    8. If you become a part of the team, it means that you have read, understood, and will go by these expectations.

1. Why is the Application Process so complicated?
Answer: Because we’re rather picky, as we have already stated somewhere in our thread. And because we want to find an artist that will be dedicated to the project(s).

2. Why does this page look so weird?
Answer: That's probably because you're using IE instead of Firefox (like me). We have yet to fix this issue (or figure out how to fix it).

    This is meant to be (as of now), comedy/fantasy. The temporary title is 'Mission Possible!!' -hence the thread name.

    Summary: There is a guy, who we will call (for now) "Bad Guy", wants to rule the world for the sake of ruling the world. It isn't so easy when there are good guys who are in his way with no source of income and allies. And yet he still wants to rule? What is a bad guy to do during these good times?

I haven't got any page examples I'm afraid (a good portion of my art was lost in an external hard drive incident during a move) But I've taken many comic classes and I teach comic/manga art at the Anchorage Museum of the Arts. Perhaps within the next week I'll make something up to use as a sample.

How Many Years of Manga Comic Experience? I've done comics on and off, storytelling is a main interest of mine, currently I'm majoring in illustration with an aim towards character design and storytelling.
Please tell us the reason why you want to be a part of the team? I'm interested in doing a comic that's small, not even necessarily complete, just to get some newer samples for my junior review next semester.
Favorite Color? Why? Hooker Green (the ink) because, it's pretty.
Favorite Anime/Manga Character? And why? Tough question... Either Dee (FAKE) or Raenef (Demon Diary), though quite possibly Dark Schneider (b*****d!) - Don't make me choose D= I luve them all.
What kind of manga comic would you like to do? Something fun and upbeat, I don't think anything for Tokyo Pop's RSOM should be too angsty, plus it should be fun to work with and nothing I'd feel awkward showing in my portfolio for the future.
If you would to be accepted, what kind of expectation do you have for the Manga Team? You mean, if I -were- to be accepted? xD Ahh... I'd expect some brainstorming on characters and plot, once that was settled then I'd like to have a script written, and once I had that I'd start in on the pages. Unfortunately I've yet to meet anyone who can ink my art better than I can (always a hard thing) so I'd probably end up making the entirety of the comic, unless someone showed they could do other parts (inking or lettering) as good as or better than I could. It would suck to put in a lot of effort and then hand it off to someone who doesn't know how to make proper speech bubbles and the like! (Er, actually, I'd refuse to do such a thing, but only because I want it to look as good as possible, which I'm sure is understandable from anyones perspective.)

well Im melissa that's my real name ... My cousin got me into drawing and watching anime. and for years now that's all I've drawn. Since I was young I've been into art. Im a pretty weird person like really weird but you can blame that on my best friend krissy and highschool. there's not really much about me though, Im not very interesting and I think I lack certian social skills gonk but you know at least I think Im great (and so do my friends ahah)

How Many Years of Manga Comic Experience? ehe sweatdrop No comic experience, or manga but I've been drawing manga styled drawings or anime for about 5 or more years. I read alot of manga and comics and have just recently been studing comic hero anotomy if that helps any.

I've alway's wanted to make a manga or comic but whenever I go to start I just can't think up a good story or get a good begining started. And i'd like to be a video game designer like character design, and story line and such like that so I think this is pretty similar, and I'd be fun eh.

How Many Years of Comic Experience? About a year, some of my friends and I started a business called Nerd Comix Ink., didnt get much done though.
