If you've been TRYING, but you haven't succeeded in figuring it out yet, you shouldn't be making changes yet.

I agree that there are some real price increases. Also, I think he might have showed up just after we had those huge decrease in prices.

Sagger tries too hard to compare Gaia to real life economy. Unfortunately for him, his Phd means next to nothing unless he's willing to put time into actually understanding Gaia's economy.

Agreed, a good portion of the old MCs price increases are just supply and demand, but the price increases on sealeds is due to inflation. Same with fish and bugs and the like.

I could see if he was trying to make a distinction between natural inflation and artificial inflation, but this just sounds ridiculous.

I'm trying really hard to see the Sagger side of things but this kind of equals FAIL for me.

I'd be more comfortable if he'd studied the economy for longer.

Look at the ink we all horded. The selling off of that alone must have caused him a bit of confusion....and an anomaly like that will probably never happen again, yet I'm sure that he's tried to factor it in without fully understanding it xd

And the big issue at hand is not inflation - a 2 % listing fee will not affect inflation. It will not stop it nor will it speed it up. It is all about providing better information for all Gaians about the prices, in a sustainable way.


Sagger is a dumbass. Lanzer is just as dumb. They both say their goal in ways it is confusing. Why can't they just say goldsink instead of posting in a language that would make the gullible say, "I supports! It sounds smart!!".

I was thinking that the moment I read about how they "consulted economists" about the inflation "problem".

WTF? People were complaining about not getting enough gold (particularly the newbies) so Gaian High Command gives them more gold. Then they complained about inflation so now Gaian High Command is giving them this 2% tax which they love because they see it as punishing the "greedy evil vendors". It makes you wonder what Gaian High Command will do next to placate newbies.
