A female demi-human tressym flies past, muttering something beneath her breath. Before she disappears from sight, a small package is dropped via parachute. Inside the package is a note and what appears to be an odd gum-drop shaped object.

Ah, a clean slate! A new journal...kept for a new life.

Today, I received my Fenthry. I won her in a writing contest- I did not expect to win in the least, even if it is second place. Nonetheless, she is my first Fen, and I have been told that she is of a rare type. I have named her Midie - a name I find melodic and sweet. I hope it suits her as well as I intend it to.

I do hope she's happy with me - when I hold her, she feels as if she's a bit nervous. That's fine with me...so am I. I hope that I can be a good owner to her - what with my condition, and all....

I think I will turn in for the night...maybe watch a movie with Midie. Just because she can't see it doesn't mean she won't enjoy it....

Here's wishing Midie a wonderful life!

Well, I have been bonding with Midie since I got her...I do believe she's taken a liking to me. A good thing...because she seems, perhaps, just a little nervous. That's fine - I know how that feels...I'm going to help her grow accustomed to the life in front of her.

I have been keeping her braided into my hair - it seems to be most comfortable to her. I have kept her with me at all times, going about my usual life, then watching movies in the evening. Her feather quivers when I watch certain things - perhaps she likes the sounds of them?

I can scarcely wait until she emerges...I am positive that the child will be absolutely beautiful.

My goodness - that was interesting! I feel I had better record it here while it is still fresh in my mind.

I was eating my breakfast, watching a romantic movie, with Midie neatly braided into my hair - when suddenly, she started to shake quite violently. I was startled - setting aside my donut (a nutritious meal, to be sure), I took her out of my hair, holding her in my hand. She would not stop shaking - yet somehow she didn't seem scared...but...agitated.

So I looked around for the source of what could be bothering her. I couldn't figure it out - so I stopped the movie to think. About then, she stopped shaking. It hit me - she was tired of listening to the movie I was watching! A bit funny, but I suppose it would be dreary if I was the one who couldn't see it. So I looked through my movies - choosing something with a bit more flare, I put it on.

Midie started shaking yet again - I laughed, but put on another movie...then another...then another. I couldn't figure it out - maybe she wanted quiet? Absently, I picked up my favorite movie and put it on.

She gave a gentle twitch and fell still, seeming quite content. This whole thing...just to hear the movie she wanted!

Comical, now that I look back on it, but I wonder what it will be like when she's finally able to watch the movie with her own eyes....

What an interesting day it has been! It seems I have become a doctor to a few Fen...and a friend to Sakura. She is convinced that I am Altena - very well, as long as I can do some good, I don't mind. She promised me that she would stop fighting with the other Fen, as long as I train her. That's fine - with a little concentration, she could take out her aggression in better ways.

I've bonded much more with Midie - she and I are already very close! The little one insists on listening to my (and now, her) favorite movie at least once a day. What fun it will be when she can see it for herself!

I hope I can be a good caretaker for her...I hope she likes me.

My goodness - she wants to listen to the movie again? Well, I'll go do that, then...it gives us some good bonding time.

Well, I didn't get to take Midie to the society today - I spent a good amount of the day doing nothing but cleaning. A couple of my other companions decided to trash the house...my goodness, did they do a job of it! Still, Midie was with me the whole time.

After the long day of cleaning, I ordered a pizza and put on...what other movie, but the one that Midie has chosen to obsess over. We watched it three times straight - fine with me, and Midie seemed so happy to be watching with me...I tried to go get something and leave her safely near the television, but she didn't want me to go...no matter.

I'm just so glad that she wants to be with me...from what I hear, she will come out of her feather any time now! I can't wait.

I'm not feeling well tonight...so I will have to keep this brief.

I gave Sakura the clipboard I made her today...she seems to be doing better, actually. I hope she can stay still long enough to heal properly.

Midie has been forgiving with me today...I keep falling, and she seems concerned. I think we will settle in and watch movies together, now...I don't think I should move around all that much. My condition has flared, and I am short of breath.

The little dear still loves that movie. I wonder if she will ever tire of it?

This must stay very brief - I'm feeling very ill tonight.

I've been bedridden, watching movies with Midie. It seems as if she's sympathetic to me...she let me pick a movie this time. I picked out favorite anyway, but it was the thought that counted.

Goodness, what a migraine I have...I'd better retire.
