Breedable Watercolor Works Of Art

A set of townhouses catches your eye while shopping in Gaia, the smell of incense and the sound the latest The Cure album playing in the background. Realizing the sound is actually coming from the below ground apartment -between- the townhouses, you move down the brick steps and through a doorway encased with billowing fabric-- and the sound of things being knocked over.

"C'mon in darling, I won't bite... hard," a female voice rings out-- the sound of a match being struck following shortly after.

"I recently moved in, so don't mind the mess. I'm still building and trying to get these little guys to show their true colors."

You step past a small table that has a few little multi-colored eggs in small glass jars sitting just behind the doorframe, as if they were trying to hide from the sun.

"Those... are the beginnings of a new, strange pet here in Gaia-- I call them 'goth guppies,' they really aren't guppies nor are they entirely goth... at least, I haven't seen their final stages yet."

The shop keeper gives you a kinda shy smile, and sits over by the table with a bit of a nervous laugh. It appears the table is letting some fresh air into the little shop, though the 'little ones' seem almost against it.

"These guys are just a little misunderstood, I think. Once they grow up a little, I think we'll see their true colors. So, what exactly were you looking for? Maybe these little guys are just what you're looking for in a pet."

~*What to Expect From Your Future Pet*~

During Hurricane Frances, I found some odd little eggs being bullied by a troop of croaking frogs. Poor little eggs seemed to need a pal worthy of frog-stomping, so I brought them here into the city with me. They seemed to like the darker, more exotic and-- dare I say it-- 'trendy' areas so, that's why I brought them to my little shop here. 3nodding

Obviously they don't talk much as eggs, but once they take on their little personas they'll liven up a bit-- and maybe even tell you a lame joke or two in the attempt to be grown up, get you to like them more- and most importantly... breed.

Since its pretty early in the fall there haven't been any adults seen as of yet. However, I think if we band together and take care of these little guys, we might just get the chance to see what they truly are.

Things to consider: You must come at lest 4 times a week and say hello and play with your egg-- they aren't for just sitting and looking pretty. No RP, no growth-- nada. When purchasing an egg, be sure to give me the number of the egg in the trade subject-- and any name you'd like to dub it for now in eggy form. Be sure to also check updates and notes as often as you can-- there will be a few surprises for ALL of us in this batch, I think. 3nodding

**UPDATE: Did you know your pets can interact with the eggs as well? Well now ya do! Just tell your Moo and Faekat, etc to be VERY careful when getting close-- we wouldn't want any broke eggs, now would we?

...but wait-- is YOURS missing?! You might want to check post 5...

"Well, I'm pretty busy being a Junior in college as a Hospitality Management Major, so you will have to take care of these little guys primarily by yourself."

UPDATE:Working on a couple of things, adults, and backgrounds that I owe people. Sadly, dad's been fooling with lectronics, dog got to art paper.... and so forth-- it sucks. Anyways, as soon as I have things in order, I'll finish rearing adults, and prolly set my sites on just backgrounds or scribbles. Work and school are finally catching up to me, like I knew they would.

~*Stages and Egg Sales*~

I've gotten the hang of scanning and such, and will be working on more guppies in the next few days. 3nodding As a special treat to gen 1 owners... well, I don't want to spoil the surprise!

Egg-- They almost look like an artsy splatter of paint at first, and shift colors ever so slightly. Keep them out of the sun most of the time while they're in this stage as they seem to be heat sensative... or just like bieg pale.

Squiggle-- These are newly hatched 'guppies.' A little bit more sun won't hurt, and they start to make motions that they're hungry. Like I said above, not sure what they eat yet-- we'll just have to see.

???-- I kinda call this the 'on safari' stage-- seems the guppies disappear for a week or two depending on how they've been treated, hop their dish and explore on their own for a bit.

'Guppy'/'Gothlings'-- Here's where the fun begins. 'Goth Guppies' got their name from their little personas-- Lust, Envy, Jealousy, Midnight Lush-- etc. They'll take on a name at this stage-- and either claim to be owned by you, or even OWN you! These guys are absolute attention whores-- and even talk and make chatter among themselves like little social butterflies at a club or bar. Better keep them out of trouble!

Adult--Once they feel they've 'found themselves,' they may or may not stick with their original personas as in the 'guppy' stage, and will take on a form of a complete, living, breathing work of watercolor art. They still can interact, will be a little more liberal, and may or may not have eyes at this point. As I said, we don't have any of this stage yet, so it'll end up being a bit of a surprise-- even for your shopkeeper!
*Be sure to save each stage if you want to keep track of progress on a journal, etc-- because once they've grown up to adult, I'll need you to save them to your own server!

You move to sit with the shop owner at her little table, a small array of containers spread out all over, as well as a paintbrush, some random beaded objects and a pad of paper ready to go.

Egg 1 800g--This egg seems to like to rock back and forth. Is it hippie-ish, or just rollin' to the beat of a different drummer? Either way, this egg seems to be rather hip to the beat.

Egg 4 700g--Quiet, and hiding on the edge of the table near the door drapes, looks like this guy is super shy. Why don't you try to coax it into responding to you?

"So... which one would you like to take home with you?"

***Note: Yes, I do paint all of these by hand, and I have many forms already made. This is why the prices are so odd. Once they're painted, they have to dry, then I have to wait to get them scanned... and it doesn't help that the scanner is currently down since we broke all computers in this house down for storage for the Hurricane Frances. stressed Stupid hurricane. Oddly enough, I would've never had the time to sit, relax, and paint them if it weren't for the hurricane, as well. I just can't win, can I? sweatdrop

I also do pet trades for 'custom guppies'-- meaning I keep a lookout for that certain 'guppie' of their dreams. If you're interested in a 'custome guppie' with colors, shapes, etc, it will cost more than the usual find, and inquiries of this nature should be done via PM.

My first real breedable! S/he's still an egg, too. I was bored and made a banner for them-- though I don't think they've been around much to add it to their page... I'm also entitled to the pin reading "Number 1 Lurker/Bump"* @ Zombie Adoption Agency!

Not really a shop, but an RP base I created-- and sadly, have no real use of at the moment. However, I do rent it out as a ballroom, and will do weddings there as well, if you like. 3nodding

If you fight with a new person to the thread or with another guppie owner, you will be warned, then suspended from the thread and your guppie taken away-- without refund.
