Plotline
There was a British Author Named George Meredith, who wrote a Book Called Modern Love during the 19th Century. A modern children's hospital, funded by a wealthy Philanthropist, was built and dedicated to this ideal in
1962, the 100th Anniversary of his publication.
Since then, it has become a popular children's hospital as well as a quiet place where lovers are rumored to meet in the strangest of circumstances. It has a loving hospital staff who often perform charity services for the ill when finances are impossible - as per the request of the Philanthropist, before he died in 1989.
In 1999, A Sanatorium, for Terminally ill patients was opened, often children, and its doctors specialize in making these last days as painless, and enjoyable as possible.
In 2004, the staff of Meredith was expanded to include several interns, pediatricians and a psychiatrist. Rumors of mysterious disapearances and unexpected complications have been surfacing through the inner halls. Fear of an unknown epidemic has spread silently through the peaceful establishment. Who will get ot the bottom of this?
As 2004 closed into 2005, during the last days of winter, the children began to notice that several doctors were missing, and with them, several patients. Some had perished they thought, others moved out of their residency, and took to private practice.
Who will be the next Doctor? The Next patient?
Characters
While not a 'soap opera', Meredith Hospital is not the place for the chronically power hungry. It is not meant to be a place of combat, or a place for anachronistically challenged characters. It takes place in Modern Times, in a Secluded area near a lakeside view.
The campaign style is Shoujo Manga/CLAMP, and character depth is a MUST. We are now accepting "supernatural Twist" characters, and "horribly mangled" Gaians who need some place to relax and recouperate. heart
Concept
This is also an excellent "Emergency Room" and "Rehabilitation Center" for characters from other places. It is NOT an Insane Asylum. While All Hospitals have Wards for the Mentally Disturbed, patients are normally only held for observation up to 72 hours, then released or transferred to hospitals specializing in those areas.
Meredith specializes in the terminally ill, and matters of the Heart, some might say, of a Broken Heart.
