What's the task?

For the shell carrying Pulmonata, home is the greatest comfort of all. Though large in number as for as the Orders go, these Oculai are rarely seen because of their close attachment to their homesteads. That this particular Hearth was willing to leave his home to help a stranger speaks very highly of him. Now he has a mind to stay and continue playing the part of the healer.

Your task is to create a new alcove, or room, for this Oculai so he might feel at ease in his new surroundings. How you go about this is entirely up to you. While a final description of the living space you have built is the only required element, stories of how you built the space, RP with existing Oculai and their owners during the design phase, and special touches such as sketches and the like will all be looked upon favorably.

Your final entry may be as short or long as you please and must be PMed to Wasabineko by 5pm PST Friday the 3rd of December to be eligible.

Tips from the Artist and the Oculai!

1. Proper spelling and grammar will leave a great impression on the judging parties.

2. A young Oculai is about the size of a coconut or grapefruit. Design accordingly. Further more a Hearth has the body of a snail (as you might have guessed by the design of the lens) and thus can not fly. It can, however, cling near any surface and support double its weight (that is to say its own weight and the weight of one other) when on a vertical surface or upside down. Not sure how that last part helps... but its good to know.

3. While I am not going to question the resources of your character, please be realistic. I will be a bit skeptical if you secure custom fashioned designer miniature furniture from Milan within a week. (This is basically a no Godmodding Rule)

RULES! (We have to have them.)

1. Play nice. Please be courteous to participants and spectators. Rudeness, insults, and discouraging others from entering will not be allowed. If you feel that another Gaian is being rude to you please notify me. If someone is violating TOS, please report them to a mod.

2. PMs are allowed on only two occasions: As explained in the rule 1 and when you complete your entry. All inquiries about the contest and Oculai should be made in the thread where I can more easily answer them.

A samll, eight-legged creature pads over to the lens and walks around it a few times, shaking his head and frowning. "It needs more," he says simply, wandering off as a mental checklist is gone through in his mind. Several minutes later, he returns, setting down a small bag that looks as though it's been woven from green and blue strands of hair. He starts pulling out small objects here and there, the Loom Oculai beginning his careful weaving.

Before long, the lens sits amidst a bed of webbing, tiny crystal shards glistening here and there, perhaps a feather or two that waves lightly with the slightest breeze. Looking on his handiwork, Fir'Ethal smiles and brushes off his hands neatly. "Much better."

The Loom looks up at her, faintly shrugging all eight legs and both arms. "You can't outshine greatness, my dear."

"It can if the firefly is willing." He smirks then, eyes narrowing faintly.

"No need. I will." The spider then crawls off, plotting to himself.
