I'd like to start by saying that I hold this game in high regards. I won't say it's the best rpg or game ever, due to the fact that no game could ever hold such a title, but I will say that it's a pretty darn stellar game.

As the daughter of an important military officer, Elly eventually attended the military academy, Jugend. Elly graduated from Jugend and rose to the rank of Lieutenant in the Solaris Special Forces, Gebler. She was eventually assigned to help capture the "new Kislev prototype," Weltall, from a base north of Nortune in the Kislev Empire. During the return trip her party was attacked by pursuing Kislev gears and she was forced to land near the village of Lahan. She abandoned her gear and left the town in the direction of Solaris controlled Aveh. She met Fei the day after her departure in the Blackmoon Forest..

Bart was born in 9981 in Bledavik, the capital of Aveh, to the royal family. He was King Edbart IV's second son, but as the only acknowledged one was heir to the throne. His life changed rather abruptly when Shakhan, a man connected with the Ethos and acting under the guidance of Solaris, killed the king and seized the throne. Bart's older brother, Sigurd, and one of the family's servants, Maison, spirited him away from the castle with the flagship, Yggdrasil. Shakhan declared Prince Bartholomew dead from disease to the Aveh public. Bart has since grown into the leader of a band of sand pirates dedicated to reclaiming the throne and defeating Shakhan.

Citan was born Hyuga Ricdeau in 9970 in the 3rd class area of Solaris. He led an uneventful life until a plague originating from the Soylent System struck the zone. Many people, including Hyuga's family, were killed in the plague. Eventually Solaris managed to contain the outbreak with Hyuga's help. This led to him being accepted into Jugend. He eventually rose to the level of an Element. Several years later he once again rises in rank, this time to a Guardian Angel of Solaris.A few years later Hyuga was involved in an attack on Shevat. He is wounded by Yui during the attack and captured by Shevat. Yui takes care of him and they fall in love and eventually get married. Hyuga learns more battle techniques from Yui's grandpa, Gaspar. Hyuga and Yui have a daughter, Midori, shortly thereafter. Several years pass, and then Hyuga is contacted by Emperor Cain. He is ordered to the surface to watch over Fei under the guise of Citan Uzuki. He brings his family with him. They settle on the mountain near Lahan, where he serves as a doctor.

Emeralda was created about four thousand years prior to the events of Xenogears in the Zeboim civilization by Kim Kasim, the second incarnation of the contact. In that time period side effects of war such as radiation were beginning to render the populace infertile due to genetic defects. Emeralda was created entirely from nanomachines in an effort to avoid a slow death for the species, using Kim's DNA and that of his wife, Elly, as the basis. The Zeboim military, likely under the orders of Miang, stormed the lab to secure her for their own purposes. Emeralda ended up sealed away and the area was quarantined due to nano contamination. Emeralda has existed in stasis until the present day when the area was unearthed by the Ethos as part of a plot for world domination.

Maria was born in 9985 in the city of Shevat. She is the granddaughter of Balthasar, one of the three sages of Shevat, and the daughter of Nikolai, a famous engineer. Maria and her father were kidnapped by Solaris, the latter to build gears for the Solaris military, and the former to provide an incentive for cooperation. Nikolai was responsible for creating a new gear, which merged biology and artificial components to create a sophisticated AI. Shortly after the first gear, Seibzehn, was done Balthasar attempted to rescue his son and granddaughter. Unfortunately Nikolai was not able to escape with them and was forced to continue working for Solaris, though other ways of coercing him were needed. Maria currently lives in the city of Shevat and defends it with her gear Seibzehn. Seibzehn responds only to her and can not be piloted by anyone else.

Billy lived with his mother, Rachel, and father, Jessiah, in Aquvy, and after a few years a younger sister named Primera. His father disappeared one day and from then on was raised solely by his mother. After several years, their house suffered an attack by Wels and Rachel was killed. Billy and Primera were able to hide, but only barely escaped detection long enough for Bishop Stone of the Ethos to arrive and deal with the monsters. Billy soon joined the Ethos and placed Primera in their care while he trained to become an Etone so he to could battle the Wels. Billy also constructed an orphanage to care for homeless children.

Rico was born in 9969 in the capital of Kislev, Nortune. He is a demi-human, one of a group that, while human, possess physical traits differentiating him from the rest of the species. In Rico's case it is quite extreme, but it can vary in form and intensity from person to person. When Rico was very young his mother ran away from the capital with him when she was pregnant for unknown reasons. His father is the Kaiser, and unaware of the fate of his wife or child. He still remains effected by the loss of them and keeps his wife's old room as she left it. Rico's demi-human traits began to manifest early and he had to deal with a great deal of abuse from other children, eventually on his own as his mother fell ill and died. Rico apparently soon turned to a life of crime and ended up in D-Block, the prison section of Nortune. He became the Battling Champion in the famous Gear-fighting arena and was given the option to leave and join the military, but chose not too. He currently resides in D-Block, the only place he has ever had authority, despite his lineage.

There's really very little of note to say about Chu-Chu herself. She is from a gigantic species indigenous to the planet that was quite prolific before the arrival of humans. Since they were a sentient species, and thus potentially a threat, the Gazel Ministry put a limiter in them that reduced them to the size of small animals. They have since dwindled in numbers and can now be found only in Shevat. This particular Chu-Chu, however, has since had her limiter removed, the first to undergo this procedure since its introduction by the Gazel. This was done by Wiseman on one of his excursions to the surface for reasons unbeknownst to anyone else.

Hey Keollyn, I see not only do we love the game Ico, but Xenogears! That game was beautiful, (well, maybe not the graphics), but the plot and the characters were great, one of my most favorite RPGS.

Ah, you are a good man Saehild. Yes, it is in fact an awesome game. I would have made a topic long time ago for this game, but I figure I let someone else make it, because I would have gone on forever and ever about it. But alas, I said I had to, because it was pretty quiet on the Xenogears front (I see alot of Xenosaga topics. That good yet inferior game to Gears)

Actually, Xenogears is supposed to be like, epsiode 5 of Xenosaga. On that note, Xenogears was an awsome game. I never did get around to beating it, though. I needa steal my PSone back from my friend again so I can finish it off...

Well unless they can get the rights from Square (now Squarenix) that's as much of a relation, along with the Zohar, that will be with Xenogears and Saga.

And I'm not counting the little things in Xenogears that are in Saga. But all in all, they are fairly unrelated.

I think Square just produced the game, actually..I dunno. I'm pretty sure I first heard Xenogears was episode 5 in a magazine somewhere... I dunno. I'll go look it up.

Xenogears rock!! I loved that game one of the better RPG's that I played. I gotta get it again from my friend sence I was at the last boss. But I never beat it and I deleted my file so I gotta start all over again. OH well I don't care I'd love to play through it again. But I gotta wait till I beat the Legend of Dragoon first.

You're absolutely right. It's just that Xenosaga couldn't speak mcuh on Gears because of the rights Square holds on that game. But yes, it still is episode 5. Hopefully, Monolith Soft is doing something about that situation as we speak.

Amazing truly amazing, great music, and it was so entertaining.
It's one of my favorite RPG's.
I had to replay it several times just so I could absorbs evrything!
