If you are having problems with gaiaonline graphics
not loading at all, just post your report using this form:

Little note: NIS = Norton Internet Securities & NPF = Norton Personal Firewall

Also added Internet Accelerator, those programs
that make dialup faster by compressing images.

These have recently been thought to be a possible problem related, as sometimes images
wont compress properly from gaia servers and could be causing red x's or related problems.

Updated links to my new server directory setup (which I changed a good time ago and didn't realize was never changed here), also added a Firefox Graphics workaround guide, for a recently found problem where most people using Firefox can't see avatars, and other general graphics.
If any of the old workaround threads 404 on you, please be patient while i'm making changes to some of them.
Firefox Graphics Workaround

February 15th, 2005
Oi oi... seems this is still an occuring problem, so the thread has been re-vamped a little bit, and is taking reports again.

Currently there are two workarounds listed up, one with NIS and one concerning spyware. If you use NIS, please attempt the workaround and see if it works first. And please also do spyware scans as directed by that work around also, and if your still having problem, report it using the form format above.

Now, one other note quick, the workaround was done with NIS 2005, I am attempting to download older versions of NIS and NPF (Norton Personal Firewall), namely the 2003 and 2004 versions of them, and working with them as well to see.

The main problem is so far I have not been able to re-create this problem on my end, so please, reporting your system information using the pre-made form is quite vital in this matter.

Ok, sorry for the long delay on posting up on the proxy workaround, which was found out thanks to nGene.

These are the current three workarounds, please click the links to read more on the specific workaround.

Gaia online graphics not loading
This is an older problem which seems to be affecting people again as of late. Please read the information in this first post before reporting.

UPDATE: A rather stable workaround has been found by use of proxies, please read more information about it above by clicking its link.
Eventhough this problem has resolved itself for me now, I will still post my info as this is a recurring problem for me.

Operating System: Windows XP
Browsers: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Netscape
Connection: Cable

And I do run 2 Norton/Symantec programs.

I seem to have this problem on and off as well..
OS: WinXP Home
Browser(s): IE, Opera, Mozilla.
Connection: Cable

It seems like after a short time the graphics from graphics.gaiaonline.com stop loading. I can see avys and user graphics just fine. I have no firewall and have restarted my PC. It had seemed to help at first and then it started happening again. The only thing that fixes it, temporarily, is closing the browser and starting over. Hope it can be fixed soon.
Taken from the other thread about this problem.
Operating System: Windows XP Professional
Browser: IE

No norton but am using WebSense ISP filter. (High School computers)

I am using Norton Antivirus 2003....should I disable it while I surf on gaia?
Operating System: Windows Xp
Browser: Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox
Connection Type: 256kbps

Sorry to be bugging you all, I am sure that you have other more important things to be reading or doing. Recently I have noticed a problem I am having recieving pictures from gaia. It seems that only pictures from "graphics.gaiaonline.com/" will not show up. This has become frustrating because, well all I get to see is a whole lot of text. Unfortunetly for me I can only use Mozilla and Mozilla Firefox as browsers because my brother messed up the IE.
Now to my question, would my using firefox affect the picture downloads, or is it just the fact that for some reason it just isn't working for me?

Any help in answering this question would be greatly appreciated.

*THIS IS IN MY OTHER POST*
Operating System: Window XP Professional
Browser: Mozilla Firefox, IE
Connection Type: DSL 10 mbps

System is running a Norton Personal Firewall. I can see Avys and a lot of the siggies and artwork that arent in the gaia graphics... but everything else is ethier blank or have a slashed picture symbol (equivilant of a red X)

Aged Lunatic

I thank you all for posting, I am still working on a workaround to see what the problem is, please give me some time, as I am still trying to contact staff on this matter to see what we can all figure out.
Operating System: Window XP Professional
Browser:AOL, IE
Connection Type: Dial up cable
Operating System: Mac OS X
Browser: Safari
Connection Type: Cable, I think. Uses an ethernet jack...

Do not use Norton, etc. if that helps any.

It's strange...it's generally working okay in IE 5.2, but in Safari none of the graphics will load except my avatar.

Oh, and I do believe I have a firewall, but I'm not sure what kind - I didn't set up this system/network. sweatdrop
Operating System: Windows XP
Browsers: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Netscape

For some reason...it's only MY avatar that doesn't show up...
windows XP
Mozilla Firefox IE ver6
Verizon DSL
its just a recent problem, it was working fine a week ago...
Operating System: Windows XP
Browser: IE and Fire Fox
Connection Type: Cable

I also have Norton Internet Security.

I have experienced a problem with the graphics server as well, after clearing my cache, none of the graphics server-based images will load.
Its rathert annoying as I had a similar problem earlier this week, wherein the maps for winter would not load, it fixed itself somehow.

This is starting to prove annoying might I add.
