You have come to the Notebook of Gry. Please do not post unless you have his permission.
The snow seemed to have let up a bit, and Gry could see a small gnarled tree in the middle of the clearing, it was covered in snow and seemed to be emitting a soft blue glow, almost like moon light.
Gry began to walk toward the tree. As he drew closer, he noticed something nestled in the snow on one of the largest branches. It seemed to be the source of the light.
Gry kneeled to look closer at it. It sparkled like new fallen snow, Gry was absolutely enthralled by this little egg shaped thing, so enthralled that he had not noticed the spirit deer standing opposite to him. Gry was slightly startled when the next thing he saw was a big dear shaped nose pushing the egg gently toward him, but he managed to get the hint and picked up the egg with the utmost care. The spirit stood looking at Gry for a moment, and then formed what Gry could have sworn was a smile. Gry blinked as a snowflake landed on his eyelash, and when he opened his eyes again, all he saw was a wisp of snow dissipating into the wind. Standing there stunned for a moment he looked to his hand. There cradled in his palm a small egg pulsing with a faint light. "I don't know what you are, or what happened... but I guess this was meant to be."
****Sitting by the fire as it crackled in the mid night air Gry studied his ward, he had noticed that the egg had begun to become slightly translucent as he held it in his warm bare hands, almost like it was ice which had slowly begun to melt. It had also begun to throb more energetically. It was odd that it did not drip away.. and that was the only reason that Gry had allowed it to thaw, for an egg that appeared to be alive melting away, was not a good thing. Gry had slept in and out, always wary of the egg he held inside his jacket. He constantly checked to make sure that the droplet shaped egg, who had taken on an almost gelatinous state, had not suddenly become a puddle on the floor. It slowly pulsed with light. Exhaustion of the night's events hit him like a ton of bricks, and Gry slipped into sleep...
About Rain
Generally rain is water falling in drops from vapor condensed in the atmosphere. Typically made up of fresh water, rain falls as precipitation from clouds. The falling drops of water are considered rain if they are larger than 0.02 inches in diameter. In forecasts, rain usually implies that it will fall steadily over a period of time.
