[ Introduction ]
Hello again, art contest community of Gaia! You may remember me from Anetra's Absolutely Spiffy Art Contest, from around June-September~ish 2004! Well, you couldn't get rid of me for that long! I'm back with another contest, some characters returning and some characters just getting the contest light for the first time.
Like my last contest, they are ALL original characters, just not all mine! They are characters from the Neverwinter Nights server Gatecrashers. Basically, they're like Dungeons and Dragons characters that we play online. Most of these characters have existed for roughly two years, some like Naerynth and Fhaise'vire are a little newer, but needless to say-- these characters have done a lot! It was hard to write just a -bit- about them, so forgive us if our character descriptions seem a little involved!
This contest will run from January 11th to July 15st, 2005.
I've learned some since my last contest, and hope this one will be just as successful, if not more so!
So please, I invite you to come and look around, even if you don't know if you want to enter. Mabye you'll find that you like one of our characters!

In this contest, you can win two differet ways!
1, by entering your art into the contest!!
2, by posting in this thread!! The first poster on every 10th page (so page 10, 20, 30, etc) will get a free avatar headshot drawing by me!

Do take note, however, that when the contest closes and judging is done, a prize that has less than 3 pictures that qualify to win it may not be given out. For example, if there are a total of 2 pictures with Kranis in them, the prize for "Best Kranis" may not be given out. However-- Kranis entries may still win other prizes.

Do I have to draw one of your characters?
Yes, that's the point.

Is there a fee for enternig?
Absolutely not!

Whats in the 03 Dec letter?
Users choice between the Nitemare Scarf and the Angelic Scarf

Does my entry have to be in colour?
No, if you would prefer not to colour, I'm certainly not twisting your arm.

Do colour entries have a higher chance of winning?
Well-done entries have a higher chance of winning. There are some details that can only be captured with colour, just as there are some details that can only be captured in a lineart piece. Use your judgement and enter what you think looks good.

The characters seem pretty much like D&D characters (in the FR campain setting, too ). Can you post the stats, too?

So I can enter one for each character?
Absolutely! You can enter as many times as you want, drawing whichever characters you want. You could enter twenty for each character if you wanted!

Could I enter a picture of Torin and Jared?
Yes! Because Torin is featured in the contest, and Jared is a character from Gatecrashers, an entry such as this is acceptable!

Can I make an entry with a doll-maker? Like, go onto Candybar dolls (for example) and make a doll of some of the OCs?
No, creating a pixel doll with a doll maker is not a valid entry, nor is dressing up your avatar to look like one of the characters in the contest. What would be a valid entry is doing pixel-art, or using a gaian avatar as a base and editing it to look like one of the characters. If you enter a pixel doll, you do not have to have made the base. The base is the only part that does not have to be made by you, though it would be weighed against you.

Can I make up my own costumes?
Yes, each character writeup has notes on what they would or would not wear. Go wild!

Gosh you wrote a lot, I don't want to read all that!
The most relevant information is at the top, read until you think you have a good idea of what the character would look and feel like.

Kranis' legs are WHAT, now?!
In his true form, Kranis' lower legs aren't really legs exactly. His feet are talons, like those of a dragon. This piece of fanart right here, though it is certainly not of Kranis, actually captures him rather well. The hair is approximately correct, and the lower legs are near perfect. Note, however, that Kranis does not have horns or spikes coming out of his body.

True form? Is Lilith/Kranis/Naerynth/Shailax a shapeshifter?
Yes.

Does that mean that I can draw whatever I want and say that it is Lilith/Kranis/Shailax/Naerynth?
Noooooo. Either draw them in their true form (in most cases prefered), or in their elven form. Both should be described in their profiles. If you would like information on variant forms they may have taken, ask and I will see what I can dig up for you.

Speaking of variant forms, is it true that Torin and Ilmryn have both been turned into women?
Yes, it is. If you would like information on female Ilmryn or Torin, ask and I will see what I can dig up for you.

Hold on a minute. Rianeth is a SWORD?
Yes, Rianeth is called Soul Reaver and she is an extremely powerful sword. This is why she is a servant to Galbvemas Moroc. She is, quite literally, an object in his posession. (Although some time has passed since this contest begun, and Soul Reaver is now in the posession of Kranis. Three cheers for the good guys other bad guys!)

[ Prizes ]
All of the prizes, in the oder the judging will go. If one picture is the best quailfying image for both 3rd place and best Lilith, for example, it would get 3rd place as that is higher on the list.

x Pictures of the guys! They got ignored in the last contest u.u, so I'd love pictures of Ilm, Torin, Kranis, Fhai, Naerynth, and Shailax.
x Group pictures! Read the character profile sections to see what they think of eachother, and draw the characters interacting. I would luuuuve that.
x Pictures of the fey'ri: All four of the fey'ri characters together >w<
x Ilmryn as a woman/Ilmryn dressed up as a woman. Ilm was turned into a woman for a while, so you could draw him like that, and he is also known to wear dresses from time to time.
x Ilmryn being chased by a giant lovesick pirate roach.
x Ilmryn and Torin as a couple...
x Pictures of Torin and Lilith. Romantic, or Torin trying to seduce her and Lilith being annoyed and pissy.
x Pictures of Kranis and Lilith. Maybe Kranis seeming annoyed and/or homicidal(sp), and Lilith laughing at him. Or the two of them sitting in the dark, shadowy corner of a tavern being "evil tavern people". ie: talking quietly to eachother, glaring at everyone else, talking relatively loudly about others in the tavern, pointing out flaws about them, generally acting mysterious/annoying/aloof/evil.
x Kranis, Lilith, and a vrock inserting magical ice arrows up Fhaise'vire's... er... behind. Fhai is in pain. Fhai was a child (he looked about 10 years old) at this time.
x Ilmryn having turned into a vrock, with Torin trying to jump ontop of him, and Iamrian trying to hold onto vrock Ilmryn's leg for dear life. They are being chased by a dragon but that doesn't have to be drawn. Iamrian is dragging Ilm and Torin down so they can't fly away, so Torin just cuts Iamrians arms off. Any part of this scene would be uberkewl.
x A battle scene. Any sort. The characters fighting eachother (read what they think of eachother for ideas of who), or fighting monsters (angels, devils, trolls, whatever).
x Kranis and Raevanis battling to death. They are both beaten and wounded looking from a previous battle, scuffling about the floor. One of them is holding a dagger, the other keeping it at bay with his free hand. This takes place in a dank room, there is a throne and two corpses lying around (one elven female with wings, one giant elven male with six arms), and ornamental statues of ******** around. This is an epic struggle! .. yeah. If you have any questions about this scene, or Raevanis, please ask!
