Once upon a merry time
a girl carrying home a dozen eggs and wine
over a hill to a house that grew
with every stride over the morning dew
alas at home, breakfast she cried!
I'm hungry and sweaty and my appetite divine!
she bust out the pan and let pour the oil
prepared to crack the egg into the sizzling boil
But holy flying cows! and lethal falling nuts!
the egg it's...it's ALIVE! and making quite a fuss
It hatched right on the spot and puffed with indignation
"you almost ate me!" it said and and...
well, yes she almost did biggrin

Once upon a time, there was a normal girl who woke up, like any other day, and got ready to make breakfast, she was preparing to crack an egg for a happy sunnyside up meal...when she realized the egg she was holding looked a little too colorful to be normal. So she rubbed her eyes and blinked at the easter like egg for awhile... until her rumbling stomach convinced her nothing about the egg was poisonous. After declaring, 'I will eat this egg, damnit.' She realized that this funny egg was kinda blobbing. How strange. So she, being the logical person that she was concluded the egg was indeed not edible. Well, after staring about for awhile she decided to care for the egg as if it were going to hatch into some colorful little chicky. And this was how it was for 4 days, until it hatched. And the girl smiled at the hatchling as if it were quite ordinary to almost eat some off egg, and later have it hatch into a creature Thing.

After checking the other eggs in her fridge, she found that they too were like the first egg, Never will she buy eggs from that store again. Then Blah and Blah and now she spends sleepless nights building miniature furniture for these creatures, who are mating in massive numbers (unknown to girl, they are planning to take over the world). With too many eggs to look after, the girl set up a shop on a Gaian street corner, and now sells little wierd eggs called Things to nice people.


--Introduction to Things--

Things are animated, active little creatures that basically run around in their little homes entertaining you...and themselves. You'll have to to feed, clean, play and look after your little pet Thing to make sure they grow up nice and happy.

Things have 5 stages: Egg, Hatchling, kid, Teen, and Adult ---&User ImageUser ImageUser ImageUser ImageUser Image

Egg Stage: 1-3 days
Hatchling: around 5 days
Kid: about a week
Teens: about a week
Adult: Forever

Once your pet Thing becomes an adult, it'll be ready to breed and will no longer need you to look after them. (you'll then have to stop direct linking and save your pet onto your own server).

Mar 22- EASTER EGG HUNT in celebration of Easter, yes anyone can participate! They aren't Thing eggs but special petling eggs. These little eggs have been hidden in random posts on the front page. The eggs hatch, don't grow but can breed. They even come with their own home:

Unless your a Things owner, in which case they shall go into your Things home.Upon hatching, give it food and water until it grows whiskers (hehe) after which it'll be breedable.

SO This's how it'll work: you find an egg, click on the egg and an image puzzle will pop up including a small phrase. Be the first to post both the phrase and puzzle answer in the thread to claim the egg. ALSO! you can only find ONE egg only, so after claiming one you can't claim any more. Please leave the rest for other people to find<3

Things monthly letters! (yes now I'm going to do these letters too, because they're fun... mrgreen ) Every month a new letter will be released, works just like the almighty gaia letters do, there are 2 items inside to choose from when they open.



1. You'll have to be a Things owner (no matter what stage) to get a letter.
2. How to get a letter? Just donate 500g or more, so if you donate 1k you'll recieve 2 letters.
3. You can sell the letters at any time to other owners, and 50% of the profit will go to you.
4. Letters will be yours and not specified to a pet, so you can always move letters or letter items from one pet home to another.
5. Once the letter opens, you won't be able to get it anymore. If you want one you'll have to buy it off of someone who has extras or is selling theirs.

*Also note: You are mainly donating for the sake of donating, you arn't technically "buying" the letters...so no need to say how many letters your purchasing, you'll be giving them accordingly... So, only donate if your sure your fine with donating and then not recieving a letter at all. Not saying that will happen...but you should look at it that way. Donate if you like Things and donate out of your heart please, not for the letter. Thank you for reading, over and out xD*

A: This is your egg

B: Hunger meter- this indicates how hungry your pet is. Every day the meter loses a bar. If you don't feed your pet for 9 days- it'll die.
-To feed your pet, just post in the thread. Example: "Feeds Blah an apple"-

C: Play meter- buying toys and letting your pet play with them, or rping yourself interacting with your pet will help your pet feel less bored and lonely.
To let your pet play with a toy you've bought, post in the thread.
Example: "Gives Blah the red ball to play with"

D: Indicates how happy your pet is. Happiness depends on how well fed, how much attention payed to it, toys, living area...etc

E: What goes in must come out, when it does this icon-->User Image will pop up to remind you to clean it up. Uncleaned poop will effect your pets mood and health. Neglect the poop and your pet will get sick.
To clean, just post saying your cleaning it up Example: "takes a newspaper and picks up the poop"

F: If your pet's very happy you'll most likely see this icon pop up more frecuently. When you see this icon-->User Image it means your pet did something nice...like painted a picture for you (aw)

G: Now if you take care of your pet really really well, and is generally being a good owner (maybe even roleplaying a bit- not mandatory), then you might see this icon-->User Image. If you do, it means you recieved a little gift...from some unknown source.
To open, post yourself opening the gift.

H: The comment box is what your pet will sometimes use to communicate with you, be it little faces ^.^ or a word or two.

I: Pet stage icon -->User Image (egg, hatchling, kid, teen, adult)

Combining Food:

You can combine 2 to 4 foods to create something new. You can combine food/food or food/food object. Ex: A Straw combined with a Orange makes Orange Juice. Remember that food Objects arn't edible. Not all food combinations work. I'm not going to tell you which combinations work, you'll have to try out different combinations yourself. OR you can cheat and refer the grand cooking and combining list xp

Cooking Food:

*You'll need to get a stove in order to cook or bake anything.
Pots and Pans are available at the mall. A Pot is required for making soups and a Pan for cooking certain foods. *

You aproach the clearing, taking in mind that it gets darker with every step, the white light of the moon slowly replacing the yellow shine from the sun. You push past some bushes and do a family guy dead faint. Stars. stars. and..what! oh yes more stars hovering above you like a endless twinkling diamond mine. You poke at the sign next to you, with it's red heart painted on its wooden surface. Then you bend down to pick one of the grasses from the lush green carpet stretching around you. chewing the stem, you began to think this place had quite a romantic air. You pranced around awhile dodging behind the leafy trees then emerging with bits of leafy trees in your mouth and ears.

Bit O' INFO:

Things grow bulbs at the end of their antennaes once they reach the adult stage. The bulbs contain their life essense and essentially a piece of their spirit. If they choose to, two Things can get together and both contribute one antennae during breeding. Both parents will lose that antennae permanently. This means a Thing can only breed once, as they need their last antennae to survive...having given half their life essense to their offspring.

Through a strange and awesome process the two bulbs will combine and fuse together taking a part of each parent- creating a new conciousness in it's purest form-which looks to our eyes to be an floating Light. The Light is naturally flighty and will blink away in an instant to somewhere else if you don't catch it in a container where it can settle and become an egg. Nothing can hold these pieces of conciousness EXCEPT our patent pended bottles, with crazy magic casted on it by Mr Tink!

*Ahem*- "There are 3 bottles types available when you breed your Thing. The bottles name might be different for every breeding and are based on the the crazy magic I cast on it. Depending on the bottle you choose you can either end up with 1-3 eggs. Because every Light is different, different bottles would balance with it better or worse. If you choose the bottle that balances the Light the most then you'll end up with the most number of eggs. By balance I mean to say the bottle that is the Light's most opposite. Think Yin and Yang. If your light is decribed as strong then the bottle hinted as being fragile weak + other opposites of strength, will be it's opposite."

The Love fields:


Here in the more secluded part of Things Forest is a clearing that's been come to known as The Love Fields because so many Lights had been been born right here. The area has a strange way of always being night-time, a bright starry and beautiful night equiped with soft breezes and perfumy leaves...and thats every night no matter the weather everywhere else. Strange but true. Alas Mr Tink, our resident "bottle maker" is in charge of the area ^^

Some Info: How were Petlings discovered?

Well I'll tell you! You see- oneday, instead of finding normal sized Thing eggs- itty bitty little eggs were found lying about in the egg patch, now the person who found them thought that somehow her eggs had strunk and went about panicking and waving her arms. BUT, when the eggs finally did hatch, instead of a little "Thing" popping out its head- she found even smaller little baby creatures. They were rolling about all over the place while she watched as a Thing promptly took a tiny unhatched egg and wobbled off with it into his home. And that's how it started, Petlings- a pet for your pet, how cute's that? RIGHT?

Petlings have 4 growth stages!

About Petling types:
User Image
Some petlings are a tidbit more rare then others and therefore more expensive. The most common petling is what I call, the hammy type ( Left ). How many types are there? Just about endless and each petling no matter what type, is unique.


How to take care of one:
-Unlike 'Things', Petlings are low maintenance.

If the Petling is living in the same house as your pet Thing, then all you need to do is make sure there is enough food in the house for the petling, your Thing will do its owner duties and take care of it's pet, meaning it'll feed and give water to it's petling.

If you have a Petling without a Thing, meaning your petling is living in it's own house, then YOU shall have to feed and give it water. Meaning, that when your petlings bowl is empty, you will need to post in the thread to refill the bowls. Otherwise the petling will starve or dehydrate and die, yes petlings can die. Note:You'll only have to take care of the petling until it reaches its final stage, when it'll be self sufficient, then you won't need to worry about the doom of dying anymore.



Buying a PetLing Separately:
Yep, you don't need to be a Things owner to buy a petling. If you buy a petling "separately", you will need to buy your petling it's own Home, as is viewed below. If you are a Things owner, you can also purchase A Petling seperately, but you'll have to buy a Petling House as well.

You peer at the little city seemed to be made entirely of styrofoam, plastic and housely items.

Amazing... It's like a tiny little country where miniature people could live if they were really very small. You lean closer to one of itty bitty houses, examining the colorful roof, your finger raised, poised and ready to assault the chimney with curiosity.

A small "bump" followed by a cloud of soot as a Thing in a little blue suit and pink tie is coughed up by the chimney of the tiny house next to the one your hovering, landing in a not so grand heap. It bounces up again like a new Thing egg on a spring morning as if no falling had just taken place. It sees you and flashes a white smile, you blink at the brightness of it.

You bend down your head so your eye is leveled with the little creature.


"Hello!! I'm Mr Ree, Are you an Owner of a fine fellow Thing? Well then! Care to purchase a home? eh eh??" *nudge* eh? *nudge-nudge* eh? *jostle. push. poke*-

(This seems to be it's way of selling houses)

-"Ow, my eye...! "

"oo! sorry."

"..."

A pause before it proceeds to nudge your nose again.
