Levi's baby photo! He's a bit older than this now, but not much. Sinclaire passed this on to me when I took him into my care. Such a wise and amused little expression...much preferred to scrunched and squalling! I can't imagine a cuter baby, despite the ragged garb!!

One of Levi's most precious posessions...an ancient gold doubloon. He keeps it with him, not usually trusting it to the chest that holds his other treasures. I'm not sure where he found such a thing, or why he refuses to leave it behind...

<img src=http://www.wasabineko.com/aki/levi/images/ring.jpg align=left> Another favorite treasure! The emerald ring is too large for him to wear, but he always keeps it close. Sinclaire confided that the ring was 'borrowed' from a local jeweler, but I'm sure she's joking...

I'm not sure where Levi acquired this...or the doubloon, for that matter. I've given him other coins and beaded necklaces to play with, but he pays them little mind. He refuses to let this amulet leave his side!

Levi keeps all of his booty in a gorgeous chest, gifted to him by Auntie Wasa. Everytime he gets his hands on something new, into the chest it goes! Instead of playing with blocks, it amuses him to stack his coins...

At a coffee shop, Levi received a black and red beaded earring from Wasa!

He seems to like the black beads especially...he holds them up to the light and shakes the earring to hear them clatter!

At the HQ, he was gifted a watch by Raife! It no longer works, but that doesn't seem to bother Levi at all!

I seem to recall the watch having a cover when it was gifted to him...I wonder what has become of it?

Levi's new plushie! I made it myself, to see if he'd be receptive to having Kaimana around the house. Since we live on the coast, I figured it would be okay to bring the little Hippocampus along. He gets so bored on the island! Levi, however, doesn't bother noting the difference between 'sylph' and 'fish'...hence the plushies new name!

I was going to buy Levi a cushion for being so good at the import store, but he somehow talked me into buying two. ^^; The other one is identical, except dark purple instead of blue!! He keeps them both in his hammock, but doesn't actually use them as pillows. How odd!

Aki Ana

Aliases: Aki. Her true name is a bit difficult for non-elven races to pronounce, and rarely given.
Species: High elven blood, with lunar affiliation. Aki usually summarizes her lineage as 'Moon Elf.' As marks of her service and dedication as a priestess to Elunae, Aki is graced with celestial attributes.
Origin: The lands of her birth have long since vanished.
Strengths: Aki's power grows with the swelling of the moon, though it has lessened considerably since her involvement with the populace of Gaia. She no longer has the time to perform regular dedications to her Goddess, and thus her abilities have faded. What remains is her basic grasp of holy and defensive magics...minor healing and ward creation. Other powers manifest in times of dire need, but rarely during the sunlit hours.
Shortcomings: Aki holds a great sadness. Never in her 500 years has she conceived a child of her own...this leads her to be overprotective of those placed in her care. The passing of friends and 'children' is hard on her, a burden of the long lived. Due to this respect and longing, and in part because of her dedications to Elunae, Aki will not take a sentient life. Death, imprisonment and confined spaces are hard for Aki to cope with.
History: Aki's history is long and tangled. Since making her way to the cities of Gaia, Aki has tried to put her past behind her and live as those around her live. It has turned out to be a difficult task. Appearance aside, Aki acquired a great deal of wealth during an incident on a nearby island...and lost several friends to petty envy. She values the friendship of a woman named Radish, or Wasabineko, very highly. Wasa lives for her art and holds naught but kindness for her friends, something Aki admires greatly. After adopting Levi, Aki doesn't see Wasa quite as much as she used too, but both women know that will change once Levi gets a bit older.

Kaimana:

Aliases: Kai, Little Bun, Feeshie
Species: Totem Sylph, Hippocampus Totem
Origin: Kaimana was summoned by Aki upon the Blessed Isle, a remote island that is largely uninhabited. He emerged from an elemental portal, a piece of mirror shard attuned to the realm of water! <img src=http://www.wasabineko.com/aki/levi/images/kaimana.jpg align=right>
Strengths: Kaimana can hover and bob through the air. He is much more graceful below the surface of the water! The little Totem can breathe and move freely below the waves. Limited speech and water creation capability!
Shortcomings: Kaimana isn't the brightest creature, and is easily swayed. The tiny Hippocampus is playful to the point of irresponsibility! Hippocampus Totems must also be returned to water for several hours a day...otherwise, they will swiftly fall ill.
History: Kaimana lived with Aki for several months upon the Blessed Isle, exploring the ruins upon the island and the surrounding jungle. Due to her adoption of Levi, Aki suddenly found herself bound to the mainland, and imported Kaimana so the little Sylph wouldn't be lonely! Aki introduced Kaimana to Levi for a variety of reasons, the most obvious being an attempt to keep both boys out of trouble. This seems to have backfired, however...now the pair simply get into trouble together.

Oooh, Levi was so CUTE the first time he ran into Guin! The way Guinevere could talk and walk, more like Demare than a baby, left Levi in awe. Ever since he met her, and gave her a messy little kiss on the hand, he's been making such an effort to be a big boy! He sure has a soft spot for girls...

Karan was one of the first Legends Levi met! I wonder if they'll still be friends when they meet again...

<img src=http://www.wasabineko.com/aki/levi/icons/demare.jpg align=left> Levi met Demare only recently...he was more interested in Manior, Demare's little brother. No doubt due to the age difference...perhaps once Levi starts walking and talking a bit better, they can find something in common!

Ever since Demare rescued Levi when he was lost under the house, Levi requests his presence more often. It seems he wants to invite Demare to the summer beach party we're planning! How nice!!

<img src=http://www.wasabineko.com/aki/levi/icons/lafe.jpg align=left> Levi met Lafe only briefly, on the way out the door as we were leaving the HQ. He offered the little fox lad a hand to shake, and dealt with it rather well when the hand was refused. Levi seems to call anything with pointy ears 'kitty' though...I hope he learns better before Lafe gets old enough to realize what Levi is saying!

Slowly but surely, it seems the two boys are coming to understand one another. Levi is beginning to realize that Lafe doesn't like to be touched, and offered the little tailed one an egg! Why he gave up his egg, I'm not sure...but it was so cute to see Lafe protect it!

<img src=http://www.wasabineko.com/aki/levi/icons/alex.jpg align=left> Levi seemed to have more fun with Alex than any of the other Legends he's met yet. Or, at least, I'm assuming so by the pile of broken toys the two left behind. I hope they get a chance to play again sometime!

<img src=http://www.wasabineko.com/aki/levi/icons/gyre.jpg align=left> Gyre is a source of endless confusion for Levi...there is just something odd about this Legend! Perhaps it's the fact that he hasn't realized Gyre is a girl?! As it stands, he thinks Gyre is a little strange in the head...I'm sure he'll enjoy her company more once he realizes his error!

Regardless, there is one thing about Gyre that he will always respect. Dancing is fun!!

Dear Sinclaire~

Levi and I have finally settled in to our new home! I promised to write you as soon as we did...I haven't even unpacked all the boxes, but I'm too excited to wait!

Houses on the coast are in high demand, even if they're not exactly beachfront! I was fortunate to find a place so quickly...of course, there is a reason it was available. 'Charming' and 'needs some work,' as my tactful real estate agent put it. The ad should have read 'crumbling stone villa badly in need of a mason,' but Levi doesn't seem to mind, and that's all that matters!

He seems rather fond of it, actually! He likes watching the sunset outside of his bedroom windows, and plays by the little pool beside the house if I don't take him down to the rocky shore when he demands to go. It's such a big change from my house in the city...but after the labs closed, there was really no reason for me to stay so urban.

I'm doing a lot of work on the gardens, there are little overgrown stone paths that wind around the house. There is even one that cuts back and forth down the cliff, but it needs some work before I'll trust our weight to it. The interior will have to wait...I think I'll ask Wasa to give me a hand! If anyone can brighten it up, it's her! For now, I have a hammock set up in my room for Levi. Once he's older, we'll see about a room of his own!

Speaking of, the house is rather silent...that's never a good sign. I'm going to go see what he's up to! Hope all is well with you, come visit whenever you have the chance! Our address is on the back of the picture enclosed.
