Unfortunately because Technicans is a slow shop and I have nearly no time to really update it, Technicans will be closed until my life slows down. I will still updated all currently growing Technicans and the thread itself is NOT closed. You may RP or talk in the thread but at the moment this shop can't be a high priority seeing as only a few people seem interested. Sorry about the inconvenience.

And it goes on...

Once upon a time, not too long ago, a boy was getting ready for bed after having stayed awake till one in the morning studying an excessive amount of calculus (DAMN CALC I HATE IT!!!). Just as he was getting to sleep he heard a loud *thunk* right outside his window. He mumbled to himself and got out of bed, heading towards the window. What he saw when he opened the blinds was the most unoriginal, typical looking UFO ever. Round saucer look and everything. It was rather large and obtrusive and had lodged itself inbetween the two stems of a tree.
"Fricking idiot neighbors..." he mumbled. While closing his blinds. He'd deal with it tomorrow.
In just a minute or two, there were three rapid taps at his window. He bit his lip and got up out of bed. This time there was something outside his window. He started to scream but caught himself, afraid of waking up his parents. The creature was about 5ft tall, with flaps for hands and cute little red shoes. Staring him right in the eye was the creature's own large eye, the size of the boy's head. The creature and the boy stared at eachother before the creature started it's tapping again. The boy opened the window, letting the creature in.
"It's cold out there!!!" the creature muttered, leaping inside. "Thanks. Is this Yello's House?"
The boy looked at the creature, dumbfounded. "Who...what...I...You..."
"Guess not," the creature smiled "Good."
"What are you?" the boy finally put into words.
"I'm a Technican. And I need your help."
The creature explained that his home planet was under attack. They had been sending some of their young to a girl's house but the girl was no longer able to take care of them. Therefore they needed a new place to land. Their goal was to come to planet earth to grow and train until they were able to go back to their home planet and lead a revolt against the evil Technicans that were taking over their planet.
"They're enslaving us and they're led by All-Maniac. He's incredibly intelligent, diabolical, and powerful. He's finding out about our project and is trying to do everything he can to stop it," the creature said. "Not only that but he has serious gender issues. On our home planet we have three genders: Male, Female, and Nomonale. The Nomonales are considered royalty as they decended from a great and powerful king. All-Maniac is a Nomonale and is trying to kill off every male and female Technican. He says that the Nomonales are a master race and shouldn't be held back by the other genders."
The boy gasped, "This is horrendous..."
"Will you help us? Please I beg of you, we just need a place to stay."
"Of course. But I don't think it can be just me."

Baby through Teen Stages - 1 Week or Less for Each

The first three stages of your Technican's life are cute and cuddly. Your technican starts as a little blob, later developing feet then hands. Unfortunately, all Technicans look the same when they arrive so it's hard to determine the gender. Many Technicans have no idea what gender their children are until they reach their adult stage! It is also impossible to tell if the Technican is evil are not. Luckily we haven't encountered any yet, but it's been said that you'll know by the Teen stage...

Adult Stage - 1 Week or Less

When your Technican is an adult, she/he/ni will grow hair and a stalk to hold their eye. In this stage, they are able to use their special techniques that allow them to fight. If the Technican is evil, he/she/ni will be slightly more powerful then the average Technican. Nomonales are also more powerful then most Technicans as they have a special N Gene which makes them stronger. Technicans are very unique in their adult stage. There are, currently, TWENTY different linearts for adult Technicans. This makes them unique and different from many others!

Rules
1. Be kind and courteous: everyone here is a person. Therefore you will treat them like one.
2. Nice people will be rewarded: If I see you around lots and your always bumping and I've got an extra set on my hands for whatever reason, I might just give it to you. Kindness is rewarded here.
3. It's a game: Gaia is a fun, creative thing to do. It is not life. If you don't have enough money I may try to help but I don't want to hear about it.
4. Flatsale Prices are what they are: Because there are now 4 stages (with the possibility of a fifth if I ever get around to not being lazy...) and many different poses/hairstyles/extra tidbits, the Technicans will probably cost more than before. I'm sorry if this price is too steep for you, but that's how it is.
5. Only one Technican per person(for now): I want new people to be able to own Technicans for a bit. For right now the rule is that you may buy one Technican through a flatsale. Breeding is the only exception to this rule.
6. By being on this page you agree to not steal any ideas, lineart, concepts, etc: these are my little characters since about 2nd grade and I'm overprotective of them. What can I say. If this is a problem then the door's that a-way. Don't let it hitchya on the way out.

No! Not at all. However those who RP might get special things like extra stages and such.

How about battling? Do I have to battle?
No, not really. If you'd just like your Technican to be sweet and non-violent that's fine. I don't really care. =)

Are there quests!?
I haven't really decided yet. I think I'll have an RP Prompt and some or all of the people who entered will have a shot at the quest. Something like that.

I don't understand the whole gender thing. Who can breed with who?
Any gender can breed with any other gender. Each Technican can only give birth once in their lifetime. However between a couple that means each can give birth. For more about breeding check out the breeding section.

If I don't have enough money but really want a Technican, can I get help or anything like that?
Staying around and bumping will get you something. I appreciate kindness. If you really need help... then we'll talk in the thread. =P

So the flatsale Technicans have been moved to a free raffle. You automatically get one free ticket by just asking in this thread. You recieve an extra ticket for each person you invite to join the raffle. They must post that they want one ticket and that they were referred by you. Make sure they put your name in their post, otherwise you will not recieve an extra free ticket. This works for each person you tell and get to join, so tell everyone! There are only 20 Tickets available.

So you don't like any of the Technicans for sale but you still want one eh? Got the perfect idea in mind? Want to edit the moves of the Technican you currently have? You're at the right place! There are a few different levels of customization.

Basic Color Custom - 5k
You tell me the colors you want used in the hair, eyes, body, shoes and I'll do my best to get it right. Also any patterns you would like, (hearts, dots, squiggles, whatever) can be accomplished at this stage. You get to choose the gender and hairstyle (PM if you want to see other hairstyles) as well. You may order a Nomonale at the same price however it will not be any stronger.

Move Custom - 2k
Whether you want to customize your custom Technican's moves or the one you bought from a flatsale, Move Customs cost 2k. You give me a list of moves which correspond to the amulet(s) you have and I will insert them into your Technican's Battle Card. Names of Moves may be no longer then 12 characters (including spaces). You may not choose how much damage each move does, however you may list them in order from strongest to weakest. You may also indicate which are healing, blocking, self-damaging, chance, and normal attack moves.

Hair Custom - 4k
Don't like the hair your Technican grew up with? Give me a style (pictures are nice) and Jestari will do her best to copy that style onto your Technican. This can be with a Custom Technican or an old one.

Pose/Hair Change - 2k
Don't like your Technican's pose or hair? Want a different, but not customized one? It can be changed to a new one for 2k. Note that the colors will stay the same.

Hair Color Change - 1k
Want to just change the color of your Technican's hair? For 1k it'll happen. If the Technican has bands holding their hair together, you may choose that color(s) too.

For ANY custom, please fill out this form and post it inside the thread. I will notify you of when you need to send the trade.

Note that if you are starting from scratch, you may be paying more then the initial 5k. For example, if you want a Custom Technican with a different style of hair and customized moves, the total cost will come to 11k.

No matter the gender, Technicans can give birth only once in their life. They do not necessarily pick a mate and stay with it for life, however if much RPing has been done with the Technicans the offspring will be stronger and sometimes there will be more of them. Each birth will yield anywhere from 1 to 3 baby Technicans. The owner(s) may divide the Technicans however they want. If they do not want one of the Technicans, they may hold their own auction to sell it. The link to the auction must be posted in the thread and 25% of the Auction Profit needs to be given to OSFM.

With all this in mind, breeding costs 3k.

Battle Amulets! - 500g
Want your Technican to be able to use moves other then it's special attack? Buy a Battle Amulet! Once equipped, your Technican is able to use different types of moves according to the amulet. Each amulet has a different element/power and a different style. If you buy more then one amulet (maximum of three), your Technican will grow stronger and its moves will be varied!

Currently For Sale:
Wind - Passive; Chance-based
Water - Calm; Constant
Tree - Strong; Defensive
Fire - Powerful; Aggressive

Level Up Pill - 1k
Want your Technican to become stronger but don't want to have to battle a whole lot? This pill will strengthen your Technican Up one level. Be cautious however: if you give your Technican too many in a short period of time something bad might happen...

Stage Up Pill - 1.5k
This pill will make your Technican grow one stage into the future! Take not that you probably shouldn't give your Technican more than one of these however. There's a small chance that they may get to a stage and stop growing.

Things Need To Battle:

Someone to Battle With
AIM (it's free www.aim.com)
Two different Technicans
A battle amulet for each Technican

Important Note

Your Technican may only fight when it is a teen or an adult. While you may buy an amulet and such for your Technican, no battles will count until both you and your opponent are at the teen stage or above. You may have practice fun battles however. =)

Important Note Number 2

Your HP may not raise any higher then what's indicated on your card/cert. For example, if your HP reads 150HP and you're at 110HP and then use a move that heals 50HP, your HP is set to 150, not 160.

The Roll Command

//roll-dice #-sides # - Replace each # sign with the appropriate number. For example, if you want to roll one six-sided die then you would enter //roll-dice 1-sides 6

How to Read Your Stats
Roll/Number/Needed = Attack Name (Damage/Healing/Defensive)

For example:
1/2 = Burning Kick (20D)

Letter Key

Inisde the parenthesis will be some sort of number code to tell you what the attack does. Here's a list of them.
Note: A # signifies a number
(#D) = damage: The amount indicated (#) is inflicted on the other person's HP.
(#B) = block: The amount indicated (#) is removed from your opponents next attack. If the opponent does not deal damage to you in it's next turn, then the block ends up being null.
(#HP) = health points: The amount indicated (#) is added to your HP.
(#S;#A) = self-damaging attack: The amount indicated (#) BEFORE the "S" is inflicted to YOUR HP. The amount indicated (#) BEFORE the A and AFTER the "S" is inflicted to your opponents HP.
(#E;#D) = even/odd chance attack: Roll one even sided-die again after this attack has been selected. If the result is even, then the number indicated (#) before the "E" is inflicted on your opponent's HP. If the result is odd, then the number indicated (#) before the "D" is inflicted on your opponent's HP.
(#D;#H) = health absorbing attack: The amount indicated (#) BEFORE the "D" is inflicted to your opponents HP. The amount indicated (#) BEFORE the H and AFTER the "D" is added to your HP.

How To Battle

STEP 1: Log on to AIM and start a chatroom which you can both reach. Then you go into the chatroom. =P

STEP 2: Both players roll a die (//roll-dice 1-sides 6). Roll only one die. Whoever has the higher number goes first.

STEP 3: Attack!

Attacking: To attack, roll one die using the roll command (//roll-dice 1-sides 6). Then, match that number up with the same number under your Technican's Battle Card and use that attack. If a "6" is rolled, then that Technican's Special is used. Play then proceeds to the next person.

If this is too confusing for you, either PM me or find someone who has battled a lot before!
This continues until one Technican's HP reaches 0 or below.

Depending on how many battles you win, you're Technican is able to level up! For each 5 wins, your Technican grows one level. When this happens, Your HP or Special attack becomes a little bit stronger! Whenever you win a battle, BOTH PARTICIPANTS must post who won. If someone is giving you trouble, report them to me and we will try and resolve the dispute.
