Important stuff
This is the need-to-know info
before attempting to get an Essence. Please read it all.
The beginnings... In the Laboratory..
Fate leads you back to a smaller room, hidden behind the left row of kennel runs. Here, you find many rows of tiny cages, each one housing a single vile. The room itself looks to be a scientific lab. Blood reading machines, syringes, and other such equipment is lying out across the counters. White-cushioned stools are at three intervals next to the counters. There are always three chairs, and never any more. As you will see, there is a reason for such a number. Drawers tucked into the counters and cabinets above also hide various pieces of equipment. Fate soon begins speaking again.
"Clients have their blood drawn here, and then it is placed into a vial." A row of test tubes with blue, green, crimson, and purple liquid inside of them are pointed at with a blue-tipped paw.
"Each vial contains a bit of blood of another creature- be it a Western dragon, Eastern dragon, wolf, dog, cat, large cat, song bird, or bird of prey.. Thus, each is very different and unique from the others. Before your purchase, you will be told which vials are available. The solution within the test tubes already is marked by a general color. This chart shows which colors depict what form of animal your essence will take on."
"On the application form, you may choose which species you prefer. The solution needed to mutate the donated blood is rare and spoils easily and thus cannot be made too quickly or often. The chemicals and your blood will react differently, as well. Some take only a few days to react, and yet others take a month or more. Patience is a virtue, and you will be rewarded for it."
And Onward... The White Room
Fate takes you out of the lab, and back through the lobby. Nudging past the chaotic mess which is Kai's desk, he pushes through an almost entirely hidden, perfectly white door. The room that is entered... is also perfectly white. And small, very small. Small, white, and frigidly cold. The sub-zero temperature in here seems almost extreme.
"After an indeterminable amount of time, the liquid will dissolve and turn white. At this point, return to the kennels and in this room, Kai will release your creature. Smashing your vial on the floor will finish its mixture with an abrupt end, exciting its state to the point it will partially evaporate, creating a thick mist. The low temperature of the room forces that mist to condense again, and form into your Essence. At this point, Kai will decide whether he or she is stable, and from then on, it's your responsibility to take care of it."
Kai enters the cold, blank room as well, taking over where Fate left off. "Essences, you see, are created from you. Thus, each and every one is entirely different. It all depends on your physical and, at times, mental appearance. The clothes you wear may influence the creature's coloring. Any obvious attire, such as a Ninja Headband, Angelic Headband, or Fairy Wings, will most likely show up somewhere on your Essence creature. Items will be manipulated and changed to fit into an organic form, if they seem important to your own 'aura' of what makes your avatar you. Everything depends on you."
"In order to ensure that your essence resembles you in the fairest sense, especially for those people who change their outfit all the time, at the time of your purchasing a vial, you will also need to list the
Key Items and Colors that make you, you."

The Small Bulletin Board
---------------------------------------------------------------
The majority of Essences white white eyes, and belong in the categories of main colors listed above, but there are different species who can be gotten ahold of. Also, like in any other experiments, 'problems' can arise. These problems cause mutations in the essence, or cause the entire project to fail. Listed below are the some examples of species, as well as the breakdown of how rare some traits are. The newest features include smaller essences called 'familiars' which are explained below, and plushies, which can be found in the Availability section.

The Familiars
Familiars
What are they?
Familiars are creatures which resemble only one Gaian item, and range from two inches to one foot long. Unlike true Essences, they look little like real animals, and appear almost entirely fictional, albeit generally canine-esque. They tend to attach themselves by a very strong bond to not the Keeper, by the Keeper's Essence. They are GENDERLESS, and generally NAMELESS. However, if a Keeper interacts with it enough, it may associate with a name. (i.e. if you don't take it and run, I'll put a name on the tag for you). They CANNOT talk, except to /your/ essence. To everyone else, and all the other essences, they only make varying noises. What noises they make are up to you.
How are they made?
Familiars aren't grown in vials. Rather, the process has pretty much gone unknown. It is hypothesized that a drop of the Keeper's blood spilled in the private section of the lab and developed on its own. Due to the lab remaining generally very clean, these guys are rare. However! Once one of these are made, the same one appears for that same item each time.
How often do they appear?
As stated, they are rare.
Can I have one?
They can only be obtained through events, and you must already have an Essence.
How much do they cost?
Unknown. It can range from gift-art, to a current month donation letter. Depends on the event it's being done at.
