--Completing my RP Character Look--

Hello, and welcome to my thread! This isn't so much a quest as a way for me to keep track of how I'm doing while meeting people at the same time. You see, I'm here on Gaia to Role Play, and I can't do that in my underwear! I've been through the shops and found a few items I like; for now, I'm working on completing my very first outfit, the most inexpensive one from my list. That way, I can be clothed when I apply to RP guilds. Not just any outfit will do, because I want to keep it true to my character: simple and dignified, but with the occassional femine flair.

Please stay and chat, or just bump. I love reading signatures and meeting new people. And if you know of any good RP guilds that deal with magic, please post a link here, in my journal, or PM it to me. Thanks ever so much!

Name: Amethyst Rae
Age: 135 (appears 23)
Race: Human
Gender: Female

Physical Description: A seemingly young woman of average stature, Amethyst stands at 5’4” tall. Her build is slender, with only slight muscles in her arms and legs. Deep violet eyes peer out of a pale, heart-shaped face framed by feathery raven locks that fall down to her shoulders. When the light catches her silken hair, violet highlights appear that echo the color of her unusual eyes. Her outfits vary, usually consisting of a soft, long-sleeved shirt in gray or burgundy and formfitting black trousers. Occasionally she’ll wear a more feminine ankle-length skirt and blouse, or jeans and a cute top. But whatever her outfit, one accessory remains the same: the large amethyst pendant around her neck. The gem-cut stone is nearly three inches in diameter and absolutely flawless, suspended from a heavy golden chain so that the stone nestles just above the curve of her modest breasts. Violet flames can be seen dancing in the depths of the gem, particularly when Amethyst runs her fingers across the surface. When Amethyst speaks, her voice is soft and low with a peculiar, almost lilting melodic quality to it. It hints at many years spent in many places, with her origins far in the past.

History: Amethyst Rae was born to a rather normal life as a professor’s daughter, and grew to love books and knowledge of all kinds. She developed a particular love for histories and mythologies, surrounding herself always with books both rare and common. When she was in her late teens, she discovered an ancient magical tome in a dusty old bookshop, and spent all the money she had to buy it. Though the spells were too powerful for her to attempt to cast at that time, she gathered more instructional books to herself, gradually teaching herself spells and incantations. She traveled to learn more, apprenticing with various magic practitioners, but her sharp mind and easy grasp of spells had her moving beyond what they could teach her quite rapidly. She grew quite adept, and at the age of 22 she was finally prepared enough to tackle the spells within the ancient tome that had begun her foray into the word of magic. It took her a year to unlock even some of its secrets, but one of those secrets has kept her from aging a single day in the past 112 years. She now moves to a new part of the world every ten years or so, bringing with her the immense collection of books and tomes she has amassed over the years. At this point in her life, however, she would like to find an accepting community that is familiar with magic, so that she isn’t forced to move away every so often to conceal that she possesses eternal youth. A quiet sanctuary where she can set up her books once and for all, and study to her hearts content is all she desires; and perhaps someone to pass her knowledge on to at some point.

Abilities: A lifelong scholar, Amethyst can read and speak many languages and is rarely seen with her face out of a book. Her knowledge of spells is quite profound, to the point where she need not even intone aloud the words for simpler spells to gain the results she wishes. Her magical energies are increased by the mystical amethyst she wears around her neck, which cannot be removed by any but herself due to a spell she cast upon it long ago. With her combination of magic and knowledge, she is quite a powerful sorceress, though she can be found more often reading to gain more knowledge than using the magic she has mastered. She has no elemental alignments but can instead use a wide variety of spells to conjure the spirits of the elements to assist her, as well as cast spells of healing, creation, and destruction. She would, however, much rather be known as a scholar than as a sorceress.

Thank you to everyone who helped me out! The latest was The Quest Fairy, who donated towards the Red Sketchbook. That was the last piece of the outfit I wanted, and now my character looks very much like she should! Well, except for the Phoenix items, but I paid real money for those and they just look cool, don't they? A little touch of Fancy doesn't hurt the deptiction of my avatar as my RP character. Thanks to NarutoEx, I have my pants now! She became the third donator. Much love to the mixed-winged angel! Though the skirt is cuter, my character wears black pants most of the time, so they were an necessary upgrade from the less expensive skirt. I'm still having problems with equipping my Phoenix items, I managed to get a third one to activate, and I like it better as the Tail than as the Halo. But clicking the other three does absolutely nothing, merely refreshes the picture. I can't even unequip them by clicking. It's quite odd.

The Letters I donated for are unsealed! I was only going to open one to make it a Phoenix Circlet, but when I saw the five wonderful ways you can equip it, I had to open another. I figured since three went on the head, one on the chest, and one on the rear, I could equip three in all. But then *points to head* I found out you can equip at least two to your head! So... I opened all four sweatdrop But the Equip function stopped working and it won't give me the selction boxes any more, so I'll have to wait to see how many more I can wear. I love them! So much for selling them to buy my pants, these are even better! biggrin

I belong to this growing literate RP guild as a Scholar (Pink Rose Sect). There are many sects, from fighters to magic users to musicians and artisans, even scholars and alchemists. It's most definitely worth a look!

Amethyst sits at her desk, the large magical tome closed for the moment as she looks at the two invitations that were delivered to her. I've already received two invitations to join communities here in Gaia, but neither are magical ones. I need a place where I can be accepted for not only my book knowledge, but the abilities that come with my many years of studying magic. I've seen listings, but none really strike my fancy at the moment...

I'm just bumping now to show off my improved Linklist; stop by Miara's quest to help her out, because she helped me! heart I've been accepted into a lovely RP guild, The Order of the Roses, as Pink Rose (Scholar). It's more than I could have hoped to find! Especially only on my first day on Gaia. Be sure to help out Felidae Dreams Charity, because that's where I found the link to the guild. The charity owners, Gin_Kaze and Ookami Juujin, are both members of the Order.

I don't think I'm going to apply to any charities, I'm doing well enough on my own. I'd love it if people would stop by here and chat with me, though.

Mel! It's great to see you. It will be so much easier to talk here than by email, don't you think? And those peasant clothes are almost exactly how I picture Jacob. You really need a cape, though, and the patches look a tad ratty.

*laughs at your signature line* Some people might think you're a stalker who can't do math, since you're only 19. But that's funny; all Jakob got for following Amethyst is calluses. I'm sure I gave your guy a few more headaches than that though, didn't I? And possibly an inferiority complex, since I tended to win our little matches.
